[Q] Transfer of stats/levels?

Archive: 17 posts

Hey guys, im looking for a clear responce, or if anything just opinions... I asked a simular question earlier and got scattered/unrelated answers.

Will our stats and/or levels from lbp1 transfer over to lbp2?

The majority of you are saying no, but if thats true what does this mean in the announcment trailer...
"Oh and those 2 million existing levels?"
"Still there and looking better than ever!"
What that is implying to me at least is that our levels will transfer over. When I look on lbp.me and you click on to the page of any level, there is a little silver and pink button on the top right-ish area of the level's icon that when I hover over it says "Published in LittleBigPlanet", now to me this means that when a level is published in lbp2 that there could possabily be a "Published in LittleBigPlanet 2" button?

Personally, I have quite a few levels published, one level with 23000 hearts, all of my levels combined 47000 hearts, and 6000 hearts as a creator. You can only imagine that a transfer of levels/stats would be something that is important to me! =D

So you tell me beta-ers.. Right now I think the whole comunity has been feeling kind of demotivated to create, because what we make in the beta is going to be gone in a week or 2, and anything we make in lbp1 could be useless on the 18th. So give me your thoughts/inspiration! ^^

Yes.. They will coexist with the new levels from LBP2. Not sure who is telling you differently. Mm themselves have said this many times.

Now the levels created in the LBP2 Beta will probably go away, but all the old levels from LBP1 will still stay out there. So yup.. your precious Glitches level will be safe and sound.

Nothing need transfer over from LBP1 because they will stay where they are, LBP2 simply will run on same server, all the stats the same as in LBP1 LBP2 will read the levels same as LBP1 do, someone will heart you on LBP1 it will be also seen in LBP2 and vice versa, boit games will be integrate dsince thye run on same database.
LBP2 Beta runs on different server, this is why beta don't see LBP1 levels and merge of data with original servers would be hard this is why they originally didn't wanted to transfer over. LBP2 Beta level not disappear because they gonna be wiped, but because we will change the server, and those level will gone with beta servers

Yeah, when I ask around on the Private LBP2 beta forums, a good 75% of everyone is saying no... so im getting my doubts :/

Well, if you asked on the beta forum they probably thought you were asking if beta levels would transfer over to the full game, which they won't. LBP1 levels will transfer to LBP2 though.

What I want to know is how will the ratings carry over? LBP1 uses stars and LBP2 uses a simple good/bad rating. Will LBP1 levels' stats be wiped? Will they make 1-2 stars = bad, 3 = no rating and 4-5 = good? Or will LBP1 levels still use the old ratings?

The entire project of LBP2 is stated from conception to do exactly that. As Shadowriver said, LBP2 will be running off of the same servers. In fact one of the early tests before NA got their codes for LBP2, was we were to load up the LBP1 Beta and publish a few of our current LBP1 levels to see if they would all happily coexist. Look under my psn on the beta version of LBP.me and you can see two of my levels have pink trees designating they were published via LBP1.

At first there were some issues with LBP2 running those levels, but after the 2nd or 3rd update, most issues are gone. Mm has stated this all many many times and not sure who you are talking to on the Beta forums. I have stayed away from there for quite some time. However, it is a known fact that the BETA levels will not be ported over, though some of us still have our hopes. Perhaps that is what they thought you were asking about?

What I posted on the beta forums is exactly what i posted here. just copy/pasted.
Here are my 2 posts i made on this... scattered answers.

Im hoping they will do something like the star method your saying, That sounds like a great idea!

Sorry whos Shadowriver? Im kinda new to LBPC ^^ but yeah im going to go check out your beta lvls, im interested in seeing that.

If i recall correctly, last night I read on the beta forums that MM is choosing select levels that are to be transferred into the full game.

Shadowriver was the one that posted right after I originally did. See 3rd post. I was simply referring to that post.

If you click here, you will hopefully see what I mean. http://beta.lbp.me/u/jwwphotos/levels If you click on either Space Escape or Space Escape II you will see pink trees on the badge which also currently show up on ANY level in the now live lbp.me for LBP1. The pinball level on my level list was done in the Beta and has no pink tree on the badge. The other two were published with the LBP1 beta from backups of those levels in LBP1 per their test requirements.

I suspect that Mm might move some of their Mm picks over from the Beta. However, all the LBP1 levels are already there so to speak.

They wont be wiped thats for sure, both lbp.me and lbp2 see the star ratening. Also your translation is also invalid, since no rateing should be no rateing for star too

Although most b-compat issues were fixed, there are still some problems with it in the beta. The main one is the huge thermo discrepancy, where an LBP level with some thermo left to use will overheat when transfered to the beta. There are some colour saturation settings that you might have used to achieve a certain aesthetic in LBP, which will not transfer to the new global settings. Also, in create mode a lot of the old tools dont convert to their new appearance and often break if you move 'em around while editing.

Hopefully, Mm have these issues fixed for the final build.

Because they can't do that for very obvious reason, they are used as part of level decoration in many level, change there appearance could break level.

Good point. Still annoying when trying to edit old levels in the new build though.

ok moveing edit to new post:

Also keep in mind that every LBP1 level edited and save in LBP2 automatically becomes LBP2 level and they are under rules of new LBP2 thermo, so thermo issues might not be fixed, so it will force creator to set up level to fit under LBP2 rules. If you want update LBP1 level and make it stay as LBP1 level, use LBP1 for editing it.

Ok look like mystery solved mistakely on other thread there press guys with working LBP2 on offical server, right? and staed to rate LBP1 levels:

http://lbp.me/u/GameOverGreggy

It seems that 2 rating systems works on same time! For example your mmpick Ungreth already got 1 like and 1 dislike make by guys with preview copies, but still it contains old star rating:

http://lbp.me/v/tej-hq

But stars probably effect only LBP1 and like/dislike only LBP2, so if you play LBP1 level on LBP2 you can like or dislike it, but it wont effect level on LBP1 and vice versa

Thats awesome! =D but heres a question... what if i have a lbp1 lvl that i copy to my moon, make lbp2 edits to it, then republish it? =P

Then it is now an LBP2 level as well as still an LBP1 level unless you delete that one.

It simply matters which client you used to publish it.
