Lbp2 looks really bad on new 26 inch led tv.

anyone know why? Also when I started it, the screen was small in the middle. Its a 1080p tv and I had the tv set to 1:1 display. When I set it on standard it fills it normally but lbp2 looks ugly. The ps3 menu on 1:1 looks great.2010-12-25 16:42:00

Did you adjust the screen and everything?
When I started the LBP2 Demo, it told me to adjust the screen first. (Make the four fingers point to the corners of the TV blah)

Not sure, but keep in mind LBP is at 720p at it's highest resolution and the XMB at 1080p. What you might be doing is pixelating the output quite a bit causing it to look that way.2010-12-25 17:04:00

If the screen appeared small without any upscaling options enabled then the monitor was probably displaying the image at 1080p, while drawing the actual picture at its smaller, native resolution. I'll show you 2 images of SD and 720p HD shown at 1:1 to 1080p. Which looks most like what you're seeing?

Probably a stupid question but are you using a HDMI cable?2010-12-25 20:21:00

If that's the case then you're not running the game in HD. No wonder it looks bad when your upscale it. If you use a component (Red Green Blue cable) or an HDMI cable, you can play in HD, then stretch the 720p image to full screen. It will look much better then.2010-12-25 21:13:00

Yes I am using am hdmi cable. It seems almost all of my 720p games look really bad. The 1080p games look great. Before when I played on a 720p tv they all looked really good2010-12-26 08:14:00

First off, what's the native resolution of your TV? and what's the brand and model please?

Because this way it would tell me more about your problem. Right now it sounds like you have an 1080p set with a really bad upscaler. This means whenever something runs in lower resolution than 1080p, the image needs to be upscaled (duh) and loses alot of quality.
