Yes I believe so, but I think the second level has to be published as a sub level or something similar though(?), but I would wait for confirmation from someone who has the beta.

I seem to remember rtm223 (and others?) managing to transfer logic across levels using the score system, so I'm almost certain its possible.

Yea it transferover with sub-levels.

Everything that effects next level and can be set on first level and can be detected by the logic (in this situation the score sensor) on 2nd level can be used to transfer over data. Number transfers are most effective since they can be extracted to many bits that can functions like trans-level toggles

Just for clarification, is the Score the only thing that can be transferred? Or are you saying that there are other objects/sensors/etc that can be transferred as well?

Thanks in advance for your response. I can see some real possibilities either way.

The score is the only thing that transfers. Rtm223 has worked out a way using score sensors to know in level 2 if you did something in level 1 so the "data" is transferred through the score you bring with you. (At least I think that's how he does it. To be honest his stuff makes my head asplode.)

Edit: The thread I'm thinking of I can't link to here. (sad) Maybe rtm will pop in with some info for you guys.

Oh this thread answer to some of my questions...
I really didn't had time to test the level linking during the BETA, so I don't know much... >_>

2 (stupid) questions :

- Concerning the ratings, hearts and reviews, if you have 2 levels linked together,
which one will be rated : the first one played or both?

- During the beta, I played some levels, where when you finish the level and that you choose to "continue" on the rating/reviews screen, instead of going back to your pod, you are directed (forced..) to another level of the creator.
How is this done without the level link badge?

And it's a little annoying, as some people will forces you to enter their level(s), just to get more plays...no?

1. Don't know really. I think the stats are all separate unless they are sub level linked?
2. At the scoreboard you can pick by tweaking it to link it to another level. If I was sent to another one of their levels without wanting to play them, I just let them have a unhappy face and leave, it's annoying but shouldn't be removed unless it's seen to be abused.

Hey!
Both levels would get plays etc. The only exception would be if one of the levels was sub level linked. Then that level would be invisible to anyone else - so it would essentially be like you're playing one single level - just with the space of 2. If that makes any sense.

I wouldn't worry about the auotumatic level link sending thing. Plays are only displayed concening unique players, as opposed to EVERYONE who plays, everytime they play. So there wouldn't be much in it for the creator if they did that - especially if they risk getting thumbed down every time.

You can also activate a level links badge via a switch. Just hook any switch up to it and there you have it.

after checking my recent activity in the beta.lbp.me i found out that the first level gets the yays/boos and plays while the second gets the plays only...as for whether its a sub-level or not i cannot say since i can't access beta.lbp.me like the rest of us :/

I will create a level with Level link as a Time Machine. Going to another era, catching something, back to present, go to future...

I'ts a good idea. Is a nice tool!

You wouldn't even need to use links for that - with the advanced camera tools and sackbots, you could do this in the same level. Totally doable.2011-01-12 17:36:00
