Bidirectional control
Archive: 3 posts
Hey I published my Meteor Sweeper level, where you control a turret that moves back and forth on a wobble bolt via the activation of sensor switches on the wobble bolt that activate a 3-way switch. This moves a spotlight back and forth (its connected to the wobble bolt) that when you press R1, it turns on the laser for a second and shoots out the meteors. The problem I see is that when you start moving right or left it keeps going that direction rather than stopping when you stop. Overall it just has some issues and if there is a better way to make this kind of thing, any help would be appreciated by me. Thanks! | 2010-12-23 19:10:00 Author: Jayhawk_er Posts: 403 |

Yeah sorry 28593 If that picture gives a little more insight there you go (not sure it will though, sorry). Basically there is a spotlight that is going back and forth over a 135 (something like that) degree plane by the movement of a wobble bolt. That bolt is activated by 3 way switch off screen. The 3 way switch is set to directional to correspond with the movement of your sackperson. When you move to the left, the sensor switch is activated, thus activating the left side of the switch (by a winch) and moving the wobble bolt to the left. It works the same for the right side, at least in a perfect world it does... Its been tough getting a near perfect control scheme with this type of thing, and I'm definitely not a master when it comes to logic. Thanks! EDIT: I just published a version that uses a circle bolted and uses a lot mag keys to move, it seems to work better, but if there is another method, above and beyond this, that would be great. | 2010-12-24 16:50:00 Author: Jayhawk_er Posts: 403 |
