Is it possible to "deactivate" a two way switch?

Archive: 8 posts

Hello everybody! I'm currently building a giant 10 story really detailed hotel and I have two available modes, Bomb survival mode, and Flood mode. These are both activated by two way lever switches located on the top floor (the one you start on).

The only problem is if you turn bomb survival mode on then flood mode you're trapped. The walls lock down from bomb survival, the water rises, and the bombs float so there's no way out of the top floor when both are activated. I was wondering if there's a way to stop the 2nd switch from being pulled after the first is. I've tried every thing I can think of, attaching a creature brain to the switch then killing it, using dissolve material around the switch, explosives underneath the switch... But nothing seems to stop the 2nd switch from activating.

Can anyone please help me? I was hoping to get my level out soon

Um, I'll just think off something... maybe connect switch 1 with an emitter which emits a block which could block switch 2 from being activated?
Sounds complicated, but I hope you get my idea 28520

Try this:

Make that setup so that the switch is facing down and then make the switches for "bomb" and "flood" grab switches. Link it up and then make the opposite grab onto the opposite second block. make it dissolve and then that will stop it failing

Hope that helps!

Winches. Use a winch to lock the two way switch into place. It's more elegant that dark matter, and if you set your two way switch to directional, you can run the wire directly to the winch. If you're using something else, you can run a PERM switch to the winch - it works the same way. I generally run the winch from the base of the switch to the handle.

Winches should be set to backwards, short time (~.2 seconds), full strength and should be a little bit longer than necessary.

Cheers.

I'd probably use two perm switches based on emitters. Block of dissolve with a square cut out and a mag switch, emitter emits a block with the mag switch trigger. The mag switch starts the mode it is responsible for. Hook up the levers to their respective emitters and have each also connected to the dissolve of the other perm switch. That way, when you activate one perm switch, you completely annihilate the other perm switch.

Of course, such a setup does not let a player reverse his choice after he makes one. It is not ideal.

If it's a lever activated two way than you can just glue it to a piece of some material in the back and they'

When you need to deactivate the lever, have a big piece of invisible (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=312921#post312921), theck (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=26490-Theck-Thack-Layer-Guide) stone come down on a piston and crush the grabbable part. The lever won't look any different, but that will make it impossible to grab or move!2010-12-24 21:23:00
