Absolutely loved it!
It's only short to make us want the full game. Looks like that worked on me

I am disappointed since they promised us create mode. The 2 levels included are great and all but i just don't think its enough to showcase the game.2010-12-22 22:26:00

I really enjoyed it. It left me wanting more but that's what good demo's do, make you actually go buy the game. I'm even more excited about LBP2 now. I do agree though that they should of given people a taste of create mode so people that never played 1 could get an idea of it.2010-12-22 22:40:00

I admit, I was very disappointed with it. They DID say that it would give us a look into create mode, but I guess that video was their "loophole." I was definitely expecting much more, although the only level I did like was the Avalon one.2010-12-22 23:50:00

I was very content with it. I knew there was no create mode gameplay, so I wasn't let down or anything. I was more interested in just getting a shot of a DCS and stuff.

I reckon the grapple hook is stupid, though. Autoaim? What? Am I like... 5 years old?
That, and it'll have problems later on, no? It won't always track the right thing.

I love everything! I'm not seeing the downsides to the Grapple Hook that were mentioned, though. Sure, They could have added an aim feature, but with that fast paced of gameplay, it's so much more efficient to have auto aim.
EDIT~ Also, The Creator will have to learn to moderate and control the ways grabbable materials are positioned. Mm did a great job with the material positions, so it wasn't an issue. Creators just have to learn how to properly incorporate the Grapple Hook.

"two"

but instead this, stoning you by reminding you that this is just a demo and you need to wait freaking mouth for full game

As an extension of my last post, The only issue I could think of, which, I believe just took some adjustment, was the reeling in and out of the Grapple Hook. Occasionally, while swinging to and fro, I would unintentionally reel out/in, causing some mishaps. But, the game has gone gold, nothing we can do now! After a few play throughs of The Tower of Whoop, I adjusted and haven't had any problem since!2010-12-23 01:24:00

I believe it's "Gone Gold" as in they're done with everything but bug fixes and some tweaks. Because of course, they will still be patching the game in the future and what-not.

Since there was only 2 levels, with the other one being a rocket game I will never have a chance to play, I didn't like it. The only features were two extremely short levels and your popit.

That and how there is a sheet of paper that comes up each and every time you do a level and see one of the movies, you can't skip it.
I think it was a waste of a download. I was expecting something a lot more enjoyable.

I thought it was nice, just wish there could have been a bit more... But I loved Avalon's world. The tech and fluff had my eyes wide open.2010-12-23 09:03:00

I loved the Animals in Avalons level, especially the dog with the movable bark. I found the reeling of the grapple hook a bit too slow for my personal liking, I would have prefered it if it moved a bit more quickly, but then again that would cause problems if you needed it to be precise. Overall great demo, I'm not suprised that they didn't include create so that didn't bother me, but a quick question- did anyone elses DLC costumes automatically apear on the Demo? Mine did.2010-12-23 13:08:00

I'll say this in a funny fashion after I played the demo.
Bunnies, puppies, and hamsters oh my. LBP2 hurry before I die. In other words, I loved it.

Avalon's world had me wanting more after completing the level.

I really enjoyed the demo too. However, I have noticed some serious problems with the robo-dog in the Avalon level. Occasionally the sonic bark doesn't push blocks where they need to go. Sometimes barking again does the trick but last time the level pretty much broke and I was unable to continue. Has anyone else experienced these problems and, if so, has anyone figured out how to prevent them.2010-12-23 14:00:00

IMO, they should've just opened the beta up and let everyone have a blast on create, and the 10k+ community levels.2010-12-23 14:33:00

Yea, I was really looking forward to playing some of those Beta Community levels, it woulda been great if we could have had that, but I'm grateful for what we got. I love the Tower of Whoop! I just wish the grapple was a little faster...2010-12-23 14:47:00

I loved the demo and I especially loved Avalon and all the awesomely cute and furry little creatures. Now, about the awesome robo dog, no, I didn't have any problems with the robo dog per se but I didn't realise that a couple of times the power of the bark was so strong that it smashed the big red platforms into the wall so hard they broke & vanished, rendering the gap too far to jump over without getting burnt. I don't know if this is the power od the bark or the weakness of the meterial properties though. Hmm...

On a side note, I'm probabaly the only one but I have a habit of running and jumping on the control pad and off again in LBP one and it felt nice and right but for some reason, this just feels stupid on LBP2 as the grooves on the top right and left on the control pad completely halt momentum! Annoying! I hope this won't be a problem in the final release in other important gameplaplay segments.

Lastly, whats with the jump pads!? I tried to press jump as I land to launch up much higher like in LBP1 but it just wouldnt happen in part 2. I hope this isnt like this in the final release as I like having control over the jump pads in LBP1. Hmm,...

They probably changed the shape of the controller, it doesn't bother me too much.
And the lbp1 bounce pads only did that as a sort of game engine quirk. Lbp2 bounce pads are more consistent which is good.

Haven't got it, but I knew Create wouldn't be there. I'm sure I remember the LBP1 demo classing Create as putting stickers on things. I wish we had got BETA access but ah well.2010-12-23 15:43:00

For those complaining about the grappling hook, it does really take some getting used to control-wise, but it works well to anicipate what you want to latch onto. If you're worrying about the auto-grab latching onto the wrong object, don't. It should be the creators job to make sure there isn't any confusion with the hook in their level.2010-12-23 15:58:00

I rather liked the demo, though I must admit I am useless with the grappling hook xD
The only thing that bugged me was the rocket level. Surely they could've put a sackbot or something in to go up against if you're alone?

Thanks for the reply Radish. I know what you mean about the comtrol pad but to me it seems that its the collision detection that has been improved and my concern was that its it 'too good' then it may cause problems in certain curves and slanted paths in levels.

And about the bounce pads in LBP1 and pressin jump at the right time to make you jump higher, I'm not so sure about them being game engine quirks as some parts in story mode even seemed to slightly require them. But even if they were a game engine quirk and LBP2 fixes that... I'm not sure I like that idea as its going to cause problems with many LBP1 levels and it just isn't as fun as being able to time the jumps right to jump higher imo.

On the other hand, I thought about it a bit though and I think the bounce pads in LBP2 are a whole different thing then the 'hand made' bounce pads you can make in edit mode. I believe you're right and that they are consistent but I think they will be incuded as a option along side the regular 'hand made' bounce pads for your own choice. If this is the case then that is great! The best of both worlds!

Took me about 12 hours to download.

Bit short, but worth it, as I got the full enjoyment out of the game. (I'm not someone whose depressingly alone, I have people to play the rocket level with.)

I enjoyed it, but i was upset that they didn't include the create mode like they said they would. That REALLY frustrated me. Last i heard there was supposed to be create mode in the demo, but all it is is a video. made me mad... plus, there was nothing with the grabinators, or the sackbots ( except davinci, and the other characters, there was no actual interaction with sackbots.2010-12-24 19:10:00
