Thoughts on Sackbots....

As most of us realize, sackbots have amazing potential, however, there are limitations that will prevent me from using them for everything (Water, Grapple, etc.) Do you think these are some things that Mm may be saving for full release, will they be patched at a later date, or not at all? What are your guys' thoughts on these so-called issues? Is it an issue, or can we work around it? I had so many plans involving sackbots, many of which involved the features they can't use. What do you think? Thoughts, concerns, rants, I wanna hear it all! Thanks!2010-12-21 16:22:00

Things is, they probably didn't invest the time needed to devellop an AI that can manage going into water and use the grappling hook. Doing those 2 things are A LOT more complex that the Sackbots we have now. I think they wanted some solid basic AIs and they succeeded at that. Now To try to predict how much they want to invest in the Sackbots is hard to tell.

One thing is for sure though, if people use them and ask for more, Media Molecule is really open to it's community. We litterally shaped up LBP2 so I don't see why Media Molecule wouldn't contine to do "what people wants".

Through some clever logic, sackbots can have sort of hand made grapple hooks, so that isn't a problem.
The water however, is xD Hopefully MM will work on that and patch it in some time after the release.

RangerZero is right, both water and garbling hook got different movement schemes that need different AI system and even if it's possible to learn them to act in such situation thru recording and control override looks like MM want them to act in there own AI to even implement the possibility.2010-12-21 18:58:00

A game like this NEEDS limits. We'll just have to plan around it and, in one way, be thankful that they didn't put it in, as then the game would have taken longer to make.2010-12-22 06:07:00

Well for water i don't see anything around it other then return of glass water or data corruption. Water for sackbot it's anomaly like AWP in Conter-Strike, one touch, you die, even iPhones are more resident to water

I was so crushed when I found out sackbots arn't compatible with water/grapple.

Oh if only the player could use a creator's costume without sackbots. That would be so amazing..
