Well if you ever played LBP1 you probably met ton of 2D cardboard sackboy/girls characters, im sure sackbot will kill those for sure but i think they wont kill material build characters (like story mode once) since sackbot can't fully replace them. I would suggest that Granny Gertrudes babysitting center (http://beta.lbp.me/v/evmt) by QueenCherry (http://beta.lbp.me/u/QueenCherry) is proof that characters won't be disappearing completely. A lot of the community strive to be good creators. And I believe that to be a good creator, you must have a proper balance. Now to many, like myself, sackbots are a huge advancement. With them, you can create sackpeople like characters that can interact with your sackpeople. But creators will soon realize that they will need to construct certain characters such as human characters and characters of differnt species. They will also need to construct simple non sack like enemies such as animals, ect. I plan on trying to use a balance of all the features lbp2 has to offer. For example, for a quest series I'm planing, I plan on using sackbots as actors, enemies, support characters, and background sackpeople. But they will only be ONE tribe of species in my universe. I will have to construct other species such as amphibian like people, talking creatures, guardsmen ect. For enemies, I plan on using sackbots as sackpeople enemies, creaure brains as enimies I construct, and logic for major bosses. But that's just me. Try experimenting with different styles. I have already remixed my two biggest levels, Tenement and Space Assassins, and replaced most of the old characters with sackbots for the beta versions. There are some exceptions like the "two-men-or-a-horse?" monster and the "wheelchair-bound-fungus-in-childbirth" monster from Tenement, but for humanoid characters of normal size then I think sackbots are generally much more versatile to use as npcs and enemies. Admittedly, Space Assassins still plays pretty much the same as before, but there's a lot of stuff that I did with sackbots in the new version of Tenement which would not be possible using cardboard cut out characters. | 2010-12-22 11:59:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |

Pretty much all my levels that have a story have costume cutouts (awful quality, I suck at making them), so SackBots will effectivly replace those. Plus I'll find more interesting uses for them gameplay-wise as well. | 2010-12-23 15:47:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |
