The Crypt of Amon'Rohar

Archive: 10 posts

Explore the Crypt of Amon'Rohar. Use the denizens of the crypt to your advantage! Designed for 1 player. Mostly, this level was my attempt to experiment with LBP2 elements prior to full release. Hope you like it anyway. Visit www.lbpcentral.com!

Cog also made this great movie of the level!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IYlz8Vhn6k&feature=mfu_in_order

I created this level to experiment with the various new features of LBP2. Movie sequences, microchip logic, sackbots, sackbot controllinators, contollinators, material tweakers, danger tweakers, creatinator, power gloves, grabinator, etc. I've touched just about everything except for the music sequencer which is beyond my expertise in music theory and comp to achieve any decent results.

I forgot to save pictures before I headed to work this morning, so I'll try to get some posted tonight.

Again, its an experiment with concepts level, but I think it's fun to play nonetheless. Hope you enjoy it. You can queue it at this link http://beta.lbp.me/v/j1c1.

This has some beh'ta-esque quality over it (Noticed that when playing it through with rohar),
I like your gameplay-implementations and the visuals of the level.
if you keep up like this in the full release, you'll get a decent fanbase my man!

i loved the level actually. The visals were quite basic but effective and i loved the sackbot puzzles
i had fun playing it through a couple of times trying to get bubbles that i missed before, it was very replayable
am i still top of the scoreboard?

That's why I wanted you to play it so quickly so you know I didn't steal your ideas! LOL. I thought I had some unique ideas, but apparently not. Thanks for the kind words. It will certainly be nice to hit the ground running with a full release and have a chance at getting some good levels created early. As opposed to my journey with LBP1 where I bought the GotY 11 months ago and was always trying to catch up with you guys. Or course, I've only had the beta for 6 weeks so I'm still catching up, but such is life.)

LOL. I thought I had you last night, but you are still on top. I specifically did not spend a lot of time on lighting and visuals because I knew I could improve those given time, I was really just trying to experiment with all the new features and put something out there to see if I'm on the right track.

Played it a few days ago, really fun level Rohar, some great little moves utilising the grappler in there. Like you mentioned above, you didn't go all out on the visuals but it's a lot of fun in the gameplay dept. Nice one!2010-12-21 20:27:00

With so little time left in the beta I didn't see the sense in polishing it up. I had about 5/8ths of the thermo left and could have easily spent another couple weeks on lighting decorations, music etc, only to have it online for 1 day and then facing re-doing it all a few weeks later. Couldn't face it. Thanks for your kind words, though!

I really enjoyed this level.
I liked the atmosphere of this level, that old school Dr. Jones pulp-setting, great beginning with the tent and the excavation site.
The obstacles were original and spectacular as ever. Really liked the puzzles, not to hard and fun. And who can resist fez-wearing mummies??

Great job, mate!

Are you gonna remake this level completely when LBP2 comes out?

Dunno if I am going to re-create this level in LBP2 or not. I'm sure they'll be a similar level with fez wearing zombies and similar puzzles though!!
