Not yet available (sorry!)

Small blabla
I spend thee weeks (about 6-12 hours a day) On this second "Beh'Ta" level,
Which I started just after I finished the first Beh'Ta level, but I wanted to "hone" my skills more before I attempted another Beh'Ta level.
One of my friends/Co creators (Crownwinner) theAdipose designed some very fun and amazing bot-related gameplay and most of the gameplay in this level has been designed by him, and altered by me to make it blend in with the visuals I had in mind when I started this level.
Together with c_mckamey we worked a long time on the elevator cutscene and even created modular and easy adjustable logic for any future movie/cutscene sequences.
After that we worked on the little bot in the big tree-filled room...
We started to name him "Epicbot" and besides one "goodbye" animation its fully controlled by resetable and enviromental adjusting logics.
This bot knows where you are, where your friends are, and where the bot itself knows where it is in the room.
If you fall down, it will come and get you.. if you fling it at a grabby, it will grab it and start swinging.. so effectively actually.. that it can even swing from a grabby onto a grabable ceiling and grab-swing his way to the other side.. and it can do even more.. but that is for you to find out.

We did much more for this level, We added a small guiding butterfly that guides you through the level.. and even better.. if you hold L1.. (and keep holding it) it will give you verbal hints on how to solve the puzzles at hand.

Thanks to asbestos101, we got three very well composed songs for this level and imho one of the better custom made soundtracks I have heard so far in lbp2.

Level information:

Full level name: The Ancient Trials of New Beh'Ta
PSN: Luos_83

Made by:
Luos_83, c_mckamey, TheAdipose, Asbestos101
(Thanks so much guys!, Could not have done this without you!!)

Powerups:
Grapplehook, Grabinator.

Gameplay:
Storybased, Puzzles, Platformers.

New lbp2 features used:
Everything and then some. (not kidding)

Bugs you might encounter:
Rarely the "bonus" bot doesnt want to get into his pipe..
luckily it will still appear at the other end.

Rarely the epicbot has minor issues when grabbing a switch/flinging itself from grab to tree,
this can be solved by going back a little bit so the bot resets itself through zoning logic.

Why did I build this level, if I know that it might be deleted after the beta is over?

Creating a full level will often push you further than you expected at first..
me, clay.. we learned so much more than we could have imagined when we started the beta.

Thanks MM, This game is epic..
and its still Beta-epic.. I cant wait untill it becomes Full-epic.

Sincerely thanks,
Luos_83

Great Work as usual. It was you and the Adipose that inspired me to start creating and have helped turn me into a better creator through tutorials such as The cave and the boat. Keep up the Good work and let me know if you guys come out with any tutorials for LBP2, especially the ones on how to build landscapes!!!2010-12-21 04:55:00

Really dang good until I pinned Epicbot into a crevice he couldn't backward layer hop out of', so I had to quit..

Was extremely beautiful and intuitive. Great jobs!

You have such a unique and beautiful style Luosthanks man I hope i can push the uniqueness to another level in the full lbp2 release!

edit: whoops, forgot to reply to ppl.

@ crashdance: Thanks for the vid, mucho grande appreciate it!

@ Midnight: Its quite simple actually,
The butterfly is on holo, attached to an unstiff piston which is.. also attached to a thin piece of holo.
on that 2nd holo is a follower, some sounds and lots of mouths all in a chip.
the butterfly is controlled by a massive 19 imput selector that activates a specific tag (CNT - butterfly - follower) and the follower (which has a rad. of 5000) will slowely flutter towards the next tag.
This selector will also allow me to "And" between the mouths and the "hold L1" imput (through controlinator with a huge radious set to closest player), and only activates when sacckboy (and the butterfly) are at a certain location.
(imput 19 of the selector is a temp "Off" setting, since the room with the swingbot (epicbot) has its own tag's for the butterfly to follow).
I think thats about it on the butterfly, which I will keep using for my stl series.

(Selector is one of the best new logic-tools available imho)

thanks, though I think the cave-tutorial was one of the worst ones, I should remake it just for the sake of every creator that used those tutorials.. its outdated.. and kind of the best wrong way on creating caves

@Piggabling, I also send you this msg on lbp2beta, but.. where did you get that bot stuck? i want to solve the problem!

Okay, it's a lot easier to explain the problem typing it out on the computer.

I was at the top of the Epicbot portion; the uppermost platform on the left. I picked up Epicbot and threw him across the gap to the place where the power-up cancel thing is, because I didn't know what to do. Anyway, I threw him across, but he could get inside because, obviously, there was a wall. Somehow he layer-shifted forward, between a tree branch and the wall of the room, and he wasn't able to escape.

Hope that helps.

where you able to throw him over to the room with the powerup canceler?
zomg, thats nog good

you where supposed to go into the bucket, and make the bot pull a rope to get you in that room you throwed bot in.
hmm lemme think about this.
thanks pigga

Played this last night. I love it. Truly amazing puzzle/platformer, looks so good. I love your Behta visual style. The things people have been doing for sackbot interaction (grappling them, throwing them) have been amazing me lately. This, if you keep it as a series, will be like LBP's Oddworld for me, and I love that. Please, keep up your great work as a creator.2010-12-21 19:06:00

Ah-ha! So that's where the boat went! I love this level, and maybe not for the same reasons as everyone else. m Yeah, I love how it looks, and how well everything works, but what really got my attention is how big a role the sackbots play in the level. The AI worked excellently, and I think the whole level really shows what LBP is all about: Taking the same basic tools that everyone gets, and making something amazing. Too bad it won't carry over from BETA. Will you consider re-making it?2010-12-21 22:52:00
