inFamous has to be one of my favorites games of this generation. It is said to be among the 5 best ps3 games, and you can also buy it for a ridicully low price. Openworld, electric superpowers, good story and ok graphics for the time it came out.
However, the gameplay is king. One of the most beautifully balanced games I had the pleasure to play.

Fallout: New Vegas

A fantastic RPG-type of game that has plenty of options, alot of land to explore, and lots of different story paths. Plus, it also has some funny bug/glitch-related moments, if you like those. There is an option to turn the bugginess off, though.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Fine Story Campaign with lots of Quest in a beautyful looking, virtual Rome.
And a cool and motivating Multiplayer Mode.

And yes! Red Dead Redemption!
Fantastic Open World Game with a great Story, cool Characters and an artistic Landscape.
Also nice Multiplayer

valkyria chronicles is a great fun srpg. I find it addicting and unique with a very beautiful art style. theres a demo on the psn I think if you wanna check it out, although in the full game you get access to 50 different characters, not just those 9. Plus its only around 14 pounds at the moment so its a bargin!2010-12-20 18:17:00

Aye, thx, m8, but I already have RDR, but I agree, great game.

Thx dude, but I'm skipping on Brotherhood, its more of an experimental, more than an actual game, I'll wait it out until SC 3, now THAT I'm getting.

Oh, and as I said, I already have RDR.

Oh yeah, a friend of mine got it recently too, and speaks very good of it, not to mention its very cheap atm, may get it indeed.

Yes, I recall playing the demo, seems like quite a decent game, may consider it if nothing better shows along.

LittleBigPlanet - It's a great game that's very fun to play with friends, you can unleash your imagination in create mode, or you can play story mode with your friends! 2010-12-20 23:18:00

Oh?
Oh hey, that actually sounds pretty good, I think I may bu-WAIT A MINUTE!

Ahahaa, very funny Inan, but I'm not falling into that one....LBP 2 is coming out next month, so I'll just wait for that one instead!

Killzone 2 is pretty good. It's a great shooter - and it's been out for a while now, so I reckon you could probably get it relatively cheap.2010-12-21 00:56:00

3D Dot Game Heroes. A game that takes heavy inspiration from the old top down Zelda games with 3D renditions of pixel art and plenty of humour based on gaming in-jokes.

Borderlands GOTY Edition. A good blend of FPS and RPG a little light on story but provides plenty of hours of fun gameplay and has local co-op which is quite rare these days plus it comes with a code for all 4 expansion packs.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow. A mix of God of War style combat and platforming/climbing across (I think) 46 levels with each level also having a trial to complete on a second playthrough such as beating it in a time limit, killing a number of enemies in a specific way or beating the levels puzzle in a set number of moves.

GTA Episodes From Liberty City. Containing 2 expansions that run parralell to the main GTA 4 storyline each has about a third of the missions you get in the main game and a length equivalent to most normal modern games.

Hmmm...

Infamous
Burnout Paradise - Really cheap now, but I don't know about the online community anymore...
Hail To The Chimp - If you have a large, competitive household, get this. Four-player havoc. Only like $5.00 NEW, so I don't see why you couldn't get it yourself...

All I can think of... Sad
