Versus Level (Beta help?)

I was wanting to tinker with a "versus" style level... but I have no idea how to begin. For example, lets say you had a grabinator and you had to throw blocks to your opponents area... if the block sits in their area long enough, then you (the thrower) gets points... if they throw it back, then they (the opponent) gets points...

I can handle the logic of detection, etc etc, but I can't see how to control 'who' gets the points... for example, I could setup logic to trigger a Score Giver when the oppenent throws your block out of their area... but how does it give the points to just you... is it by proximity (who ever is closest to the Score Giver)? The Score giver option is to give points to You or Friends (I've used the Friends, which gives points to all), but I'm lost on how to do versus or team based scoring...

Any suggestions on how to get a better understanding of this type of logic (known copyable versus levels, etc)

It's signal ownership, no body tried to discover how it works in detail yet signal contains information who trigger it and some components using it to decide what player it should effect.

Try use grab switch to involve throwing player in to the logic, plug grab switch to set-reset (counter on one) and and AND gate it with impact switchplug AND gate output to score giver and reset of a counter.

Yea it's messy, this is why i a;ways suggest that they should add specific player tweak for some componets, since lot of stuff is out of control

Yuck... so it isn't something easy I overlooked... LOL!

How do you force teams, or can you? Four sackbots, set to walk you to your team? I dunno... I'll have to tinker some more... LOL Thanks!

Oh you got teams... score giver triggered inside player controlled sackbot using tag sensor (wireless logic) should do the trick, at least it works for my current project2010-12-20 00:21:00

Or have them go into little rooms that close once they're inside. Then when they are all full THE GAME BEGINS!!! Or the robots grab the players and drag them (not sure if you can make it to where the bots can't be slapped), FORCED TEAMS.2010-12-20 00:25:00

Thanks for the ideas. I don't see a way to assign points to teams (minus doing some kind of score bubble emitter from holo material following the team members or something), but it does seem that the non-visible signal ownership is working, even when i shoot stuff from the Creatinator.

I am now starting to tinker with holo material and followers, but how do people make those strips of white text in a black box appear at the bottom or top of a screen with instructions? I've seen that in several places, but the only thing I've been able to do is a magic mouth (black text in whit bubble) or a note (black text in yellow bubble)...
