| I really want to know what offends certain people, because some people are easily offended, and others not so easy. It's sort of a pet peeve thread I guess, but it's more of a, "I get offended when I see grape juice on the floor because I think it's blood" Or something, thread. | I'm actually offended by people who use political labels (liberal, socialist, communist, etc.) as if they are discriptors of people who are inherently evil. It's also arrogant as, by association, anyone who treats "X"-label as something inherently evil creates the assumption that its opposite must be inherently good. There are genuinely amoral people who do fall under all labels, and even the labels with the worst connotations and histories had their good moments (there's a reason why most of the common people of ancient Rome liked the fact that their "Republic" became a Dictatorship after all). And frankly, just about all of them up to now have fallen short of any sort of ideal. Also, as someone of asian decent, I should probably be offended by that image (even if the drivers there don't even appear to be distinguisable as asians). Or you just don't get the definition of teh werd I think it's because alot of people hold these beliefs quite close, and when someone attacks the believe, people take it as an attack on themselves. Personally, I take quite a large interest in politics/religion, and so even before reading the previous 3 and a bit pages of you lot whining and giving me ideas, I was probably going to bring up faith. And even then, my peeves were all based on generalisations made by the opposition, normally, opposition that has no idea what it's talking about. I mean, in other words, I don't mind faith itself, it's more the generalisations that offend me. Edit - Corrected part of my post. Was going to make one point, then moved onto another. Derp.
