An Interview with SketchNZ

Archive: 7 posts

I received a PM earlier from SketchNZ answering questions about his latest series!
Well, I suppose I should give you the answers now I've said that

Did you get the response you wanted to your upcoming level series?

Well I only posted a small thread on the "[PSP] Ideas and Projects" Forums and quite a few people seemed interested in it, Since the series didn't have any details or even a name I think it was the response i was hoping for, All i was really expecting was a few views and comments.

What sort of gameplay does your series include?

The Gameplay will be all new platforming and puzzles and junk, Including Building, Climbing, Mining and more!
I have only done a tiny bit of creating in the level so far so don't expect the levels next week or anything.

Can this series relate to any of your previous work?

Yep, Its a little bit like Rocks And Gems with the industrial machines and nature being harmed by them, Except in this series you play as a small purple creature (Sackboy dressed up) and you start in a forest called "Fracture" full of blood thirsty creatures.

Where did you get the idea for this series from?

I just thought of it when I was drawing ideas for levels, And I was also thinking about one of my favorite PS1 games "Abes Oddysee" and how Abe can do all these actions and all these ideas came to me so I though i would make a level about it, But then I thought a series with teaser art and stuff would be cooler.

How long ago did you begin working on the series?

I think its been 3 weeks since I thought of the series but I didn't start in create mode until a few days after I posted on LBPC. By the way I will try harder to actually finish this series unlike some other series I said I would finish but haven't

How many levels are there going to be in the series?

Probably about 3 or 5 levels will be in the series, The first level will be all about the forest (Fracture) and hunting for food for your small village, Then the next level will be about Fracture Industries attacking the forest and the rest will probably be inside the factory.

Lots of creators are making level series now. Do you think 12 D.O.C and Kindred have influenced this?

They had the teaser art and that's what made me think a series for this would be cool with the teasers and posters So i guess you could say they influenced this a teeny bit.

And finally, have you thought of a name for the series?

Yes I have! Finally after lots of thinking about what to call this I came up with[ Fracture] seems like a pretty violent and evil name but it fits the horrid factory that will be in the series

Thanks Sketch!
I look forward to playing 'Fracture'!
