I wonder...

I, like many others, am planning to make a full game in LBP2, but am questioning whether my ideas are possible, as I don't have the beta.

I am planning single player levels, in which one player controls a team of 4 sackbots, each with their own unique powers:
(Flight, Summoning animals, creatinator, teleportation, etc)

You can switch from playing as one sackbot to another, but would it be possible to make it so when they are not being controlled, the other sackbots follow the player's, and even aid the player against enemies?

(I plan on making the player switch characters by pressing the D-pad.)

totally doable. switching sackbots is a breeze with the right follow set up, and behavior chips can be turned on and off, so that when controlled sackbot's AI is set to idle and when not controlled, set to follow player seat tag/controlled bot. any auto attacks and support action can be set back on when following. it's all really just stuffing microchips inside other chips and seats and using tag activation/selectors. i guarantee you'll figure out your party mechanics after a couple weeks2010-12-18 22:02:00

Spectacular! Good to know that it's possible, but now I have to figure out how!2010-12-18 22:38:00

Well... with behavior switches.
When a player is controlling the sackbot the "follow player" behavior is desactivated.
When a sackbot isn't controlled by a player the behavior chip actives and make the sackbot follow the player/tag.

Yeah, it's the 'deactivating when not in use' bit which I'm worrying about. I can't really visualise the logic for that in my head.2010-12-19 00:28:00
