Sequencer question

Archive: 8 posts

I'm trying to get a pixel-style character to work for the level I'm building, but have a problem with the sequencer. Basically, I take the left-right input from the controllinator, split it and pipe it into two sequencers that are driving the respective left and right running animation (each sequencer bar is set to .2 sec emitting a hologram frame for .2 sec) The running animation looks great - no breaks in the sequence EXCEPT when I get to the last frame and the sequencer loops back to the beginning...leaving a pause where the last frame disappears for a moment. Is there a way to get the sequencer to not lose signal for that split second? I can kind of blend it a little by setting the last emitter to destroy with a fade effect, but there's still a slight gap in the animation.2010-12-17 18:05:00

There blind point in sequencer at 0% maybe this cause the blink. Maybe try to use loop selector on microchip instead if your animation have constant frame speed. You could also try to run each frame on some state keeping component.2010-12-17 19:06:00

I don't know if it will behave similarly, but I had an issue kindof like that with batteries running some lights (when I would reset the string of lights they would all turn off before all lighting back up). I fixed my issue by extending the batteries on the sequencer beyond the edge of the 'start' line, overlapping it by one small square. That worked for me... now when it resets the lights are all on immediately...

... maybe try to lengthen the first frame? Might stutter the animation (first frame will be longer that the others since it hangs over the sequencer edge, MAYBE), but might remove the blacking out...

Worth a shot. Good luck.

State keeping component...like a toggle? How would that work?

I initially tried the selector, but I was seeing more flicker when switching between sequences with that method... (maybe I did it wrong?). I was using a self-resetting time (set to .2 sec to match the emission time) wired into the selector that would cycle between the three frames.

I did try extending the length of the batteries over the edge (start and end), but it seems there's always a break with emitters.

Good idea though

Try use set-reset :> counter on one

Do you have to use emitters? Can't u have all the frames simultaneously present , but only illuminated one at a time by the sequencer, with the off state of the holograms being set to invisible?2010-12-18 13:15:00

To catch the blind point at 0%, place a battery over the entire length of the sequencer, then connect that signal to an inverter, and the output will only be On when the sequencer is at 0.2010-12-18 14:15:00
