Elevator recall button

Archive: 3 posts

Yet another elevator question. i did searching to see if someone had come up with this idea or asked this question but couldn't find it, so i apologize if this is a repeat question that i somehow missed.

i've created an elevator with an up and down lever in it. simple enough. but what i want to do is to create a recall button that can be on any of the given floors that will call the elevator to the sackboy when he's not in it (say you fell off the roof of the building and need the elevator to get back up, or simply took the stairs for a level or two and then decide you want to take the elevator).

you can't hook up multiple control devices to the same piston so... yeah i have no idea. anyone have any suggestions or is this perhaps not possible with the tools we've been given?

hope my question is clear

For the record I haven't tried this but I think it should work. If any one finds flaw with it let me know.

I think I could figure out how to have a up down switch on each floor but it would take some more thinking. I think the easiest solution would be a on off switch so when triggered the elevator would go up and down. So when it got to your floor flip the switch back or get off the button.

For the switches make a box with as many pistons in the box that you will need for switches to make the elevator go up and down. The pistons should be attached to one side and a small block on the other end. Put a mag key on the small block and a mag switch on the other side of the box. now put a switch on each floor and in elevator. attach to one of the pistons in side the box. Now attach the mag switch to you elevator piston. Your going to need to fiddle around with the pistons and the mag radius a bit. But I think this would work. See crude drawing.. Good Luck!!!

i think i follow what you're saying. i just found the "or switch" level and got the bunch of logic switches. this of course has now set my mind free to the possibilities (none of my creations have really used magnet switches yet). if i muster any amount of success i'll let you know.2008-11-05 02:40:00
