I Need Pixel Platformer Logic Help

The Title is self explanitory, if anyone knows how to properly create Pixel Platformer logic (such as the Mm Pick Iguandanion Pixel Platformer Level), it would be very kind if someone were to help me  I want it so You're in a controllinator moving mario, I have made 8 different versions of him in the same size. I want it so it has the same controls as the real super mario brothers game. However I don't know how to make the animation of mario when he's walking without having him flickering from the emiter effect.
