They were finally able to draw me in thanks to the free sam and max games and also the DC Online beta.2010-12-15 04:15:00

Got my bro a subscription for his birthday - but so far he's not been very impressed with what's on offer.

Beta access used to be for testing - not as a carrot to draw people into a subscription service.

Still, it's alot better than what you get for your Xbox Live subscription (which isn't really saying much)

The the five free sam and max games chime in at around 35 bucks so if I play through them all that's more than I paid for my 3 month subscription fee right there, plus I get to use the beta for DC universe, plus Qore, plus any other free stuff they throw my way. And I might buy a few of the discounted games as well...2010-12-15 16:10:00

yes, but if you want to keep renting sam and max it will cost you 50 dollars a year. Or all those free games you "own" go by-by.2010-12-15 16:27:00

Conversly if you know you aren't going to replay them a 3 month rental is a much better deal.2010-12-15 16:49:00

I have the three month deal and I won't NEED to replay them I mean, just playing those five games, the dc beta, and a few other 'free' games, along with a few discounted things I plan to buy is worth the money I spent on the three month period.2010-12-15 22:38:00

yeah, I am a re-visiter. I dont even like going to the library. I like owning books. I have a very nicely stocked bookshelf. I would prefer to have a nicely stocked ps3 also. I am glad ps+ works for you. Neither one of us is wrong.2010-12-15 22:48:00

Well I mean, I too have a nicely stocked bookshelf and a nice collection of PS3 games, I rarely ever rent games. But for once it seemed like a viable option, ya know?2010-12-16 00:13:00

it does seem like you picked a good time for a three month scrip.

It's alright, I suppose. I definately loved the Sam and Max episodes, probably the high point so far.

The minis are quite cool, but just "what the hell, have 'em" cool.

Fanboy much?

I'd take Live over PSN any day, I'm guessing you haven't played on XBL properly, or that if you did, you had no friends. The friends integration, and all the options involving them alone make Live better. As far as I'm concerned it's a far better service, and worth the money.

It's a completely different thing altogether. You don't get anything free with Live, just services among other treats. I admit the friends service is better, but not worth forking out the money when you can get the same thing, abeit more simple, for free on PSN.

I'd rather have far better friends integration etc. that a few free/reduced price games. better friends integration = better online experience for the games I actually want. I'd take that over worse online due to the friends thing but with a few cheaper/free games.

I'm not though, because I've played both the 360 and the PS3 extensively. I'm making a considered judgement, he is jumping to the defense of the PSN, without anyone even posting about XBL in the first place.
