Super Mario Bros 3 : World 1 Fortress

Archive: 5 posts

I recreated the first Fortress in Super Mario Bros 3. It is identical to the Snes version, I only added a single block in the whole level or else you had to retry if you missed a jump. I couldn't do the nes version as I wanted, because the lava pits are much larger in the nes version, and sackboy can't jump that far.

Surprisingly, I reached the limit of the thermometer, so I couldn't do the boss.

There was much less effort in remaking a simple level than my first one from the beta, but titles are what gets to play the level, so in a few hours, this stage got 10 times more plays than my first stage in a week even if it took me much more time to do my first stage.

But simple doesn't mean not fun. The stage was made as a race to heat things up. The name of the stage is the name of the topic.

Just got 100% collection yesterday, so I'll now start my second full stage inspired from Dracula's Castle. But it won't be available for a while.

Is that the fortress with the secret whistle?

Yes. That secret passage is still there if you can find how to get there.

I only remember the first ship, and that stage is pretty boring. I started to work on another, less known, but much more fun, super mario bros 3 level. I realized that the areas of my next map (on paper) needed some work, and I still have some testings to do, as to how I will do the bosses. I have more fun in creating the stage than designing it, so I'll just create a short one until I'm ready to star building my stage.2008-11-05 14:14:00
