Finish on Wheels!

Archive: 21 posts

Not sure if this has been mentioned already or not, but I read somewhere that you can put the Finish Gate on Wheels!

With that in mind, I plan to make a tediously long level, not hard at all, but lots of jumping and moving slowly, so you have a hard time to catch up to the Finish

I didn't know that was a possibility. Wow, I'm always surprised by what's possible in LittleBigPlanet.2008-08-05 18:47:00

Yeah, I can back you up on that! I actualy forgot about it It's a twist on "Race you to the finish" When the finish is racing away from you.2008-08-05 19:03:00

Yup, would also be quite fun to sledge down a massive slide, up the ramp, and then attempt to land on it You could put 2 massive blocks on each side of it so it doesn't go too far away too..And have fire all over the bottom, so if you miss, you're dead!2008-08-05 19:05:00

Haha, make the finish right in front of sackboy at the beginning, so the player thinks it will be really easy, but then have him hit a trigger which rotates the platform to make the finish roll away! That would be hilarious to see.2008-08-05 19:05:00

It would be funny to have a proximity chip attached to the finish gate, and any time Sackboy came too close, it would drive away until Sackboy wasn't in proximity anymore. That way, Sackboy would have to find a way to shove something in front of it to keep it from going anywhere before he could complete the level.2008-08-05 19:08:00

That's an idea. Putting it at the end of a long and tedious level would also be fun . This also means you can put spawn points/ music points etc on wheels. Opens up many, many possibilities.

Definitly go for the domo first, but I found it great fun. I guess it also counts as a little bit of physics training for LBP

I didn't find it too fun. Way too easy - i completed it within the day. However i have previously messed around on Pontifex 1 & 2 alot, which are bridge building games. Definatly look up on it if you enjoyed Elefunk. It's much more complex and can be very challenging too. It's on PC... but it isn't a graphics whore at all so it will run on most. I love it. theres a free demo if you google it.

Good example of a simple bridge:

You can also make draw bridges with complex moving parts.

The game is building bridges..

Theres a loose story of an elephants family being captured by a circus and you have to go get them back.. but mainly its building bridges with a limited number of pieces..

Wow lol. I'll make one of those on LBP, but instead it goes up just like that when you go over it, and you have to escape before you get crushed!!2008-08-07 17:00:00
