We got the YLOD a couple days ago on our old machine, so we ran out and got a new one right away. My BF's son came over to see if he could get the old machine running long enough to for us to get our stuff into the machine by heating up the motherboard. It worked and we got our stuff transfered to the new machine. My profile is fine and I have everything from the old machine. His profile is screwed up. When I went to import his profile backup, the dates are wrong. For instance, the icon for one of his backups has the green bubbly skin from the beta, but the date of the backup says it was backed up 2/11/10. We didn't have the beta then. I tried all of the profile backups I could, but none of them worked. When we put in games he has played before, it is like he never played them at all...however, the saved data is in his profile, plus he still has his trophies. Any ideas?

So the importing of the profile works? (ie. no errors) But games/ps3 does not load data which is on said profile?

im sorry to say, but if u got the ylod, and then his son heated up the motherboard of the ps3, im pretty sure things arent going to work perfectly fine... You should be lucky u got it to work at all....

Yeah,I would have to agree.Sry but this is as far as it gets,with a fried motherboard and all.If I may make a suggestion-try to take the old data off the old ps3 via memory stick.If you have tried this than try deleting and reintroducing the data to the new ps3.Hope this solves it sry.
