| I made my slightly optimized character, learning from the mistakes of my first one. I'm now a rifle-wielding, sticky bomb throwing, fast walking, black and white hero, by the name of "Reloaded"... A side not for those wondering about flight. Flight is very overused... because it's pretty much game-breaking, you can just hover in the air and pick off enemies that can't reach you with their melee attacks. You can fly anywhere in the world and you go pretty fast too, almost as fast as super-speed... | Yes, there are guns, dual pistols and rifles, to be exact. The weapons choices are pleasantly broad. As for who you fight, when you make a character on a PvP server, you not only fight the PvE NPC characters, you also get to skirmish with whatever hero or villain (depending who's side you're on) happens to zoom past you. And yes, there is A LOT of free roam. You guys are going to wet yourselves when you see Downtown Metropolis. Gotham is nice and big as well but it's more slums and darkgrimdark. As for Flight vs. Running, flight's a bit broken right now. There are pesky and annoying attacks that pull you back only if you're a flyer. Nonetheless, it is cool. If you have a concept character who is absolutely a flyer like my villain, don't be afraid to do it. If you want to go with whatever seems cooler, just go with Acro or Superspeed. Acrobatics is generally considered to be the overpowered travel power as at level 9 you have the option of taking Rocket-Assisted-Glide, which speed-wise practically makes flight useless (except, you know, for the ability to go up and down and generally have freeform flight). And of course, flight lets you go up way high and admire the scenery. And escapes are a bit easier. And it's not that slow either. | @Outlaw The only gun types you can choose from are Rifle and Dual Pistols. Personally I haven't tried pistols but Clay says the suck. In my opinion Rifles right now are my favorite, it's very easy to focus fire down a single enemy and if any get too close, you can just bash them close quarters with your gun. There are some really cool unlockables for rifles too, just now I unlocked the under-barrel grenade launcher. :3 Yeah it's amazing... @Zim There are PvP arenas as almost every other MMO has, where you can fight other players, I have not tried this myself yet but I will check it out sooner than later. There is a main story line you can follow, and many side quests you can find by wandering through the immense cities of Gotham, and Metropolis. There are also little hero mini-quests, for example; you see a cop chasing after a robber, you can go beat up the robber and restrain him for the police officer, and get some bonus EXP for being a good hero. | Shadow, NDA was lifted some time ago which is why I've been spilling so many beans. Worry not about open discussion; it's about as bad as if we were discussing sackbots or contrlinators is fine detail I honestly suggest everyone goes on the PvP server. You have a blast on it... And I think there was the option of flagging yourself as PvE so no one can attac you. Either way, it's a better game than PvE. | Already encountered some glitches: - Sound cut out in Metropolis (regained briefly after entering room in club) - Character wouldn't attack after a while; I'd keep pressing the buttons and he wouldn't do anything That's about it for bugs... so far. PVE- Gentleman George (Gotham) PVP- Krackow (Metropolis) Oh, and the super-speed power... really fun. | Heh, after finally finishing up clearing out some space, I entered the code in to find that the beta was only 117 MB? I assumed it would occur once you installed it, but it was another surprisingly low 113MB. Elated having seen the beta be downloaded so quick, I opened it up right away, fingers itching. He was on top, and I was at the bottom just out of his view, so he couldn't see me on his map. When he'd turn the other way or move towards the other side of the platform, I'd move forward a bit so I could see where he was walking and sneak up on him. Clever little Sage, he was running 'round in circles so he'd be able to see anyone coming on his map from all directions. And then he eventually saw me, jumped down, chased me for a minute or two, and killed me... | you can have up to 2 characters I believe (haven't tried more) on the WHATEVER SERVER you choose as for attributes...they have something that'll RESET your TRAITS in the game...as for what the traits are I guess it means the points you get during levels but once you pick your mentor and power (i.e. fire, ice, sorcery, gadgets) i think those are permanent but yeah PVP is the best choice IMO since with PVE you're only fightng NPCs so if you ever get bored you can't go finding other players to fight...but i will admit this kind of PVP sucks since as soon as someone sees you they want to kill you (only 1 time i was fighting enemies next to a villain and he was nice enough to leave me be) but yeah it's at least nice to have the option to fight them if i ever get bored and this game is getting REALLY FUN...I might actually make this my MMORPG when it releases...but not right away....i want to see what other MMORPGs the PS3 will be getting | 2010-12-15 06:13:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |

| I'm finding it difficult to locate quests...Are they marked on your map or what? 'Cause I can barely find any. Oh yeah, and how'd you get to Chinatown? I'm good with double-pistols, but I could change if I wanted to, so instead of resetting char, you just need to level up some more. my advice...go for acrobatics you are pretty fast....and you can glide...and after a certain level you can power up your glide and it makes you glide so high that you're pretty much flying and more power-ups make you go way fast so yeah its the best...havent tried super speed yet but i dont plan to thanks to acrobatics and how useful/fun it is Super Speed is pretty fun and useful tbh, later on you can get an ability to double-jump, and make you go faster as you double jump (Kinda like Super fast gliding, but its even faster than Super speed running.), you can reach crazy distances with that. Not to mention runng up buildings is a snap, and jumping from one to the other is pretty cool. Not like you need to, as Super speed users are the fastest on the ground or in the air. Also, you can ru on ciellings, which is great to avoid ground enemies, and recover health. Not to mention if you're about to be overwhelmed, its pretty easy to get out of there and escape. ;p So, yeah, Super Speed is pretty good as well, all 3 movement methods seem pretty balanced, but Super Speed is easly the fastest in ground and air, at higher levels. | Groups of baddies just camping out at the heroes spawn point. Not, cool. lol, you were there too? I just saw a fightfest a lot of times when I went to the face, went to fight the bad guys a bit, then got back in base to finish my quests. LOL NPCs or players? I don't think NPCs can camp for an organized attack... A villian league of players called <SONS>. ARRUGH! Yep, that's them, but it was a leage war, m8. If you ignored them and left, no one chased after you, only if you ran through the battle. this is why i hate the current PVP....just a gankfest...nothing fun about getting attacked a million times by the same people because they have nothing better to do...which is why I wish they would make some "ZONES" that if a villain kills you then it alerts the justice league and superman or some other random hero hunts down your assassins and instantly kills them to make sure they know not to kill heroes in spawn points and police departments That's why they have the Robots in the spawn points, they 1 - 2-shot kill anyone who gets within attack radius, villans can't camp and attack because of them. Getting punished for PvPing in the PvP server? No thanks, I would just preffer a level cap, so higher levels can't attack really low levels. BEsides, what's the point of having heroes and villans if you'll get auto-killed every time you fight each other? :/ We need a PSN chat for this. We do have one, only people rarely enter, even when I invite them. :/ I hate heroes > Heroes attack villans, VIllas attack heroes, if you see a group of the opposite faction, run. Alternitevly, simply for a group of people to sdo missions with, people tend to be relucrant to attack people that are in groups. I meant like a general chat for LBPCers; besides, I don't even have half of the PSNs added here on this thread. o_O Like I said, not missing much, since many don't seem to want to join, but add me, and I'll sned you an invite to it if you want. | I just froze guys...I always freeze when I am near the hospital...how lame. If it makes you feel any better, I somehow managed to phase through Metropolis' streets and into oblivion... again. And when I tried to report it, the game froze up... AGAIN. And I was about to finish another quest... AGAIN :kz:. (Oi, so frustrating) Fire + Rifle = match made in heaven <3. Now my rifle can launch grenades AND use a flamethrower (sweet!  ). And after messin' with Queen Bee for about a freakin' hour or so... I can now cast down METEORS. METEORS... and then pick them back up to repeatedly bash someone with xD.Gonna head back on in a minute or two.
