Camera Controls
Archive: 8 posts
As advanced as the cameras are in LBP2, I think that there should be an option where you can rotate it 360 degrees AROUND sackboy. This way, you can make levels where it looks like sackboy is running towards or away from the camera. This would be great for, lets say Indiana Jones cinematics where you run from a boulder or army! | 2010-12-11 17:42:00 Author: TREMIC1 Posts: 263 |
This would be a pretty cool thing to have... However, the backgrounds in create mode only cover the back of your level. So if you were to make it spin around, there would be nothing but... nothing. Also, this could cause confusion with the controls. Unless you put a sackboy into a controllinator and changed the controls, all of the controls would be off. Say if you put the camera behind the sackboy as he is running. One would have to press "up" if they wanted to change layers "left". Just my thoughts. | 2010-12-11 17:54:00 Author: ShamgarBlade Posts: 1010 |
It would indeed be nice for cinematics. | 2010-12-11 19:05:00 Author: LukeCF Posts: 790 |
(In regards to Sharmgarblade as I can't seem to quote on my Ipod): Unless if the controls shifted when the angle changed automatically rather than having to change it everytime. But yes, I could see where this could definetly come in handy, but it seems unlikely. Because then the whole level may have to be visible at once which may put a strain on the engine seeing as it already slows down sometimes in areas (such as with loads of lights) | 2010-12-11 19:06:00 Author: I_PUNT_KNOMES Posts: 42 |
@ShamgarBlade you didn't think deeper about it ^^ controls can be fixed by control override of sackbots and as said above it would be useful for cinematics. Ofcorse, first things first, they would need to make all backgrounds be compatible with 360deg view | 2010-12-11 22:06:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |

But what if the 3D glithch transfered over sucessfully. Then, you could use it to fill in the nothingness. They could also have it where you switch layers with left and right. This could go into effect once the camera is put into that veiw | 2010-12-12 00:16:00 Author: TREMIC1 Posts: 263 |
or at least 180 degree cameras? this would mean that we wouldnt need a complete 3D room to be built just a bg and two side walls. otherwise if your interested in this kind of camera rotating and 3d backgrounds why not look into raphaiei's levels where he uses emitted bg objects to make 3d rooms and objects that move through the 3d layers | 2010-12-12 17:46:00 Author: Skalio- Posts: 920 |

Making a camera that can move like that would be a waste of resources. | 2010-12-14 06:13:00 Author: Moony Posts: 368 |
