He made it with stickers on his planet in LBP2 and traced it in rl somehow: I took a screenshot of it in LBP2, placed it in GIMP image program, then I took the selection tool and went around all the areas, filling it in with a much cleaner filler.

Oh, I see! So you made the sticker in LBP2, then moved it into GIMP for cleaning and stuff.
