Fall of the Dark QueenXx_Mr_Orange_xX This is the sequel to Reign of the Dark Queen. It starts exactly where the other left off. Our hero is sent on a quest to find the flaming chalice that contains the power to defeat the Dark Queen. I wanted to give special thanks to L1ghtmare and cymbol for help and keeping me motivated. hey dude your level i played yesterday and i found impressive development is very well done, the streams of lava scene i really liked the cave, the obstacles, the game-play development, the idea of lighting the torches and the atmosphere that did you really are fantastic, and oh oh oh and not to mention the great queen is one of the best boss i've seen, the moves are impressive, the scene really loved it. In itself the story is truly immersive and nocabe no doubt that this high level is one of the best i've seen I have given :star::star::star::star::star: and <3 | 2010-12-11 11:56:00 Author: psyntens Posts: 562 |
I actully played this level when it was on the cool pages, great job by the way. When it recommended two play the first one i kinda got a bit annoyed and just played the level anyway, you should think about installing some speech bubbles to explain or remind the player what happened in the first level. Anyway great level, near the start though i found a way to make an escape from the level. In the rocky place just after you tap r1 to get up (i think this was the second one) there is a wheel that spins smaller wheels, when your on the ground in that place you can just jump forward and make an escape, i not sure if you can leave the level but you might want to consider putting some fire there. Anyway you had an awesome boss fight, one of the best i have ever seen, great work. :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 btw i am returning the f4f, if that makes sense | 2010-12-12 21:11:00 Author: nillrecuring Posts: 104 |
i just finished your level and all i could say was... wow... just wow... the details were top notch the action and platforming seamless. (most importantly highly replayable and fun) my personel favorites, were the dark queens animations and challenge that and those epic swings (had to add style while riding by jumping off fast and catching the swing before it went) it was seamless, and i was sad when it ended, please make another:star::star::star::star::star:<3 | 2010-12-13 03:07:00 Author: dragonights Posts: 209 |

@metalhead. I had the speach bubble in the beginning just because the level was on cool pages without Reign of the Dark Queen. I will probably delete it now. Thank you for finding the space to leave the level. It is now fixed. I wanted to thank everyone for their wonderful comments. | 2010-12-15 03:04:00 Author: Xx_Mr_Orange_xX Posts: 115 |
Your Psn should be Mr.Awesome instead of MrOrange for this incredible level you've created. You've earned that right. I couldn't agree with you more in regards to L1GhTmArE and Cymbols' help. Their expertise in helping creating this level is not surprising how well crafted your level turned out. I love all levels that has the cave and ruins theme. Yours however was in a word, AWESOME. You've earned :star::star::star::star::star: and <3 from me. Keep up the great job. When you're able, I'd like your opinion on my most recent level "Lost Ruins of Panatra". I've already gotten L1GhTmArE's feedback. Thankx | 2010-12-15 09:10:00 Author: tripple_sss Posts: 250 |
Ok this level was downright beautiful! I thought the atmosphere totally matched the whole theme, and the whole level seemed really innovative. I loved the look of the lava, it's not very often that you actually find a level can truly utilize the look it presents. At a few parts, I got stuck for a moment, which may have frustrated some people, but I actually enjoyed just standing there watching all the stuff move, and pulse. Those Spinning circles actually looked pretty great where they were placed, and it made the level feel more alive. The boss was good, a little tough (but on my standards, that's not saying much). I wished it would have moved a little more, but it may have run into problems with the rest of the scenery or something, so it was still good. I thought it was really fun, good length and I rated :star::star::star::star::star: | 2010-12-16 00:09:00 Author: Jayhawk_er Posts: 403 |
Thank you for the feedback. The boss is somewhat limited on the movement or else the legs will break. I probably should have chosen a different material to build it out of, but i really liked the look of the one that i chose to use. | 2010-12-16 17:56:00 Author: Xx_Mr_Orange_xX Posts: 115 |
Man...I have one thing to say to you: I loved your level Well made and got my <3 Check out my level thread for information about it... | 2010-12-17 23:23:00 Author: Unknown User |
A fantastic level with really well designed and immersive attention to detial. I love the variety throughout the level and the whole lava display was beautiful to watch. The boss was well done but I wish there more phases were the boss changes up her actions as opposed to doing the same thing over and over because the amount of hits she took to kill made it slightly repetitive to me but it's still great. The moment of her dustruction won me over though, that was just brilliant! I won't say what happens because it may spoil it for others but it's great. The whole design, materials and theme and gameplays elements were a joy to watch and play. Lighting the candles was actually a standout for me! It reminded me of Zelda RPG games on Nintendo consoles and that a good thing! Well done! | 2010-12-19 23:22:00 Author: LFiers Posts: 161 |
Thank you for your positive feedback. The logic for the boss was actually made to have another phase in it, but i couldn't think of what else to add. I am open to suggestions. | 2010-12-20 20:27:00 Author: Xx_Mr_Orange_xX Posts: 115 |
WOW! Absolutely everything about this level is terrific! The platforming, the scenery, the lighting... I suppose I should start at the beginning. I saw this level was the sequel to another level of yours, so I went ahead and played that one first to understand the story. It's a splendid level in and of itself, and I gave it 5 stars and hearted it, but I must say, the Fall of the Dark Queen has surpassed it in all fronts. It's just brilliant! I suppose I'll talk about the eye candy first The scenery was extremely impressive! The little details, such as the rusted winch on the title-viewing contraption at the beginning (I didn't know you could sticker winches!) and the ivy stickers with leaf decorations studding the rocks show a lot of hard work and careful consideration went into the visual design of the level. I took a picture of the lava-falls and the lava plume at the beginning because they were so impressive. (Unfortunately, the lights don't show on the camera...) Visually, though, it was the lighting that impressed me the most. The cave looks gorgeous with the way the light catches in the crevices of the stone, and the glowing red lights in the fire were an ingenious touch. The lighting was magnificent, and never too much to lag the game. Top-notch job. The gameplay was wonderful as well (I'm running out of positive adjectives )! Very diverse and never dull. The purple geysers that you fell in to build the track was a neat addition to the zipline idea, and the fire crushers were hectic and timed perfectly so you can just barely squeeze through! The lighting of the candles too... wow. It's been mentioned in this topic already, but I got a strong Zelda vibe from that puzzle, and that's a good thing The boss looked great (appropriately beautiful and hideous at once) and the flow of the fight went well. After she summoned two spiders, however, I was able to stand in between them in the area in front of where the checkpoint lets you out, slightly to the right of where the plasma balls shot out, and was able to safely shoot the boss's weak spot without any trouble until she died. I'll probably go back and play the level later so I can appreciate the true battle, because I kind of feel like I cheated... sorry, I don't think I'll be able to give feedback on the boss beyond that for now, since I don't think I actually fought her correctly This is an altogether magnificent level, and more people need to play it! :star::star::star::star::star: + <3 + creator <3 I use my hearts as bookmarks for levels I want to play again later, either alone or with friends, so you better believe I'll be coming back to this one for repeated plays. Maybe I'll get the high score... Once again, superb job! You should upload some screenshots so more people will be enticed to play it! It certainly deserves to be more popular! | 2010-12-22 07:27:00 Author: Sporkchops Posts: 48 |

thanks for the feedback mr orange ! now i will tell you my feedback of our lvl. the optic was good. sometimes a bit meager because there is just stone, but ok. the the gameplay was good too. but the highlight was the boss fight. ive never seen such a brilliant boss. ok so :star::star::star::star::star:. | 2010-12-26 13:21:00 Author: frexy18 Posts: 62 |
Great overall feel - i really like the rings of rocks the echoes in the fire arcs. Good tweaks on typical obstacles familiar enough not to confuse but still surprising enough to be interesting. It may be because I am a bit hopeless but the boss battle dragged out as there was little safe opportunity with where the red balls and claws were. The boss looked great though. After a while only one spider came in the sequence. it would be cool if there were 2 levels of switches t shoot so the battle could escalate. | 2010-12-26 17:12:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thanks guys for the wonderfull comments. Most of the level is made of basic metal and i was trying to change the looks of it using only lighting. I have come to the conclusion that some players are going to have a harder time with the boss than others. I have friends that can kill the boss before it starts the fighting cycle over. | 2010-12-27 19:31:00 Author: Xx_Mr_Orange_xX Posts: 115 |
Here's my feedback after having a lot of fun on ur level Pros + The scenery fitted the theme of the level nicely, and I liked how it didn't stay the same throughout the whole level. + The lighting was nice and not too overdone, it blended well with the level. + Lighting the Torches was nice and new for me, I thought it was very clever. + I Loved the lava area with the arching hazard, I stood there for a while just looking at it. It was very attractive lol. + I like how the music seemed to get more serious and broody the deeper u got into the level. + The Queen looked very sinister, angular and sleek. That calm look on her face makes it feel like Darkness Death and Pain is just an everyday routine for her and made her feel even more evil. It may have been nice to have like a slight glimpse of a silhouette of the Queen pass behind the windows when u light the torches (just an idea). I had fun on this level, and felt that u pulled the immersive effect off nicely | 2010-12-29 23:52:00 Author: Brixx101 Posts: 277 |
I thought your level very good... It has inspired me to play the first (not in order... but you'll still get my plays!) on the boss: I don't think this was supposed to happen but... when it does happen to a gamer you just feel so....idk, couldn't help but exploit it! So I jumped and landed between two spiders... they formed a protective coccoon around me and I just kept firing up! For a very long time. Not a big fan of paintanator bosses... I enjoyed your buggy one though! And I enjoyed your level. Thanks! | 2010-12-31 06:32:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |
Congrats on the Spotlight dude! Fully deserved. As I already told you when I played your level last week, I didn't find any important flaws on it. In fact the boss being a little too hard, was one of the bests I've seen in LBP. The game play was well balanced, with no frustating parts and really entertaining. Only visuals could have been improved with a few more stickers and decorations. Overall, great job! and thanks for letting me know about it! | 2011-01-02 09:29:00 Author: poms Posts: 383 |
very good level has perfectly blended the fun with the seriousness of the story(good story) the boss was very good(a bit hard 4 me cause im really noob with the paintgun but gr8) :star::star::star::star::star: and <3 | 2011-01-05 23:05:00 Author: xkjz3l Posts: 113 |
+ That lava was great despite the lag. + Nice boss. In both gameplay and visuals. No annoyances throughout the level. LBPC is getting better! Now what will I complain about? | 2011-01-07 10:02:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
I am transported by the worlds you've created. This level is just great. I really don't play many levels with big bosses, but I really liked yours. Keeping in mind that I'm not well practiced with battles, I would rate this one difficult. I was about to give up, then I realized by not shooting the small spider I could have better access to the queen. Gave a heart, and I don't give them out just any levels! Thanks for the feedback on my level, and sorry it me so long to play this. | 2011-01-14 05:45:00 Author: Pookachoo Posts: 838 |
