You're not missing anything anyway.

If you get a code I wouldn't even bother using it because the beta is absolute rubbish. There's so much wrong with it I've lost interest in LBP2 altogether and I'll be amazed if it isn't delayed until 2012! If the retail version came out soon and it was anything like the beta I definitely wouldn't buy it.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks like this now! I'm absolutely astounded at how awful this game has become in both it's looks and functionality. I think I'll purchase my CE, keep it in the box, rent the game, then decide on whether to throw it up on Ebay and hope I can break even on the cost.

This new update has completely broken my faith in both Mm and this game now.

Go help 'em, if you think it's so horrible.
They're doing the best they can anyway, I'm sure.

In any case, if you feel that way, that's your good right.

Beta: Not a game, testing a game.
Therefor, it should not be fun and riddled with bugs.

If they want to pay my airfare and put me up somewhere and provide 1 free meal a day (that's all I need to survive), then I'll gladly go help them. I love this game that much to do it for no hourly wage actually. How this stuff is getting missed is beyond me, and I've got a pretty keen set of "visual scanners". Doing the best they can... likely. Is it enough? Not from what I'm seeing. I just think they've bitten off more than they can chew right now. I do feel that way, that's why I said it.

I think people take that too seriously sometimes. Sure, we all know it's a beta and our job is to test and not just treat it like a fun demo. However, that doesn't mean that beta's shouldn't be fun as well. All beta's are fun to a degree. This one is just more problematic than other's I've been involved in, and every new update keeps breaking things that were working perfectly fine before... or re-breaking them after being fixed. It's really frustrating... that's all. A game this buggy this close to the release date just doesn't instill much confidence in it. When I first entered the beta with the rest of NA... this game looked amazing! The lighting and rendering were far superior to LBP. Now... it looks almost as good as LBP if that. The contrast has shot through the roof, and the game has completely lost it's beautiful look. That's not a bug... that's just a huge change and a goof up in my opinion. But then... you know what they say about opinions.

No, betas are not suppose to be fun. I wasn't taking this seriously, but then you started whining that this wasn't the most perfectest game ever and therefor it was crap. Go sit in the corner, then come back when you realize what a beta is for.

Yes... beta's are supposed to be fun to a degree. If they weren't, people wouldn't participate in them without being paid. Why do you think major companies like Sony have resorted to having their key target audience do it for them?

They do it because:
a) it saves them money
b) the testers enjoy and have FUN testing the games for them. After all... it's fun to break things.

Are you seriously going to sit there and assume that none of us are having fun in the beta? That's a ridiculous notion and everyone here would disagree with you that beta's are not fun... guaranteed! If they weren't fun... NONE of us would be offering our free time to help out with it... beleive me. Just because it is work, doesn't make it un-fun.

Let's be clear here. My issues/complaints (or 'whining" as you so kindly put it) have nothing to do with your being serious about anything. What you take seriously and why are your own issues... don't try and pin anything on me here, because frankly it won't make me sleep less at night so it would be a waste of "whining" on your part.

Please refrain from putting words in my mouth. I never once said this should be (how did you put it?) "the most perfectest game ever", nor have I once come out and said "it's crap" because of it not being "the most perfectest game ever". BTW... perfectest is not a word.

What i have done however, is voice my opinion and thoughts about the topic and agree with another member of the forum's opinion. I have every RIGHT to do that, just as you have every RIGHT to post that you think it's a wonderful beta. I have clearly stated all along that I'm aware of what a beta's purpose is, and that I think this beta is particularly problematic with regards to major bugs, and things that should be obvious to Mm. I've also stated that my time could be better spent right now, which is also my right.

That this bothers you, is really neither here nor there. I don't care if it bothers you or you think differently at all. You are entitled to your opinions just as I am to mine, and free to voice them here for people to see and agree with or discuss.

However, I don't appreciate your tone right now, as it seems you are trying to pick a fight with me. That's something no one on the forum needs to be privy to, because believe me.. you won't come out looking the victor on this one. It seems pretty clear to me that my opinions and statements bother you. Perhaps it is you that should go sit in a corner and do some reflecting on how you react to other people's opininos and statements about the topic at hand.

If you wish to further debate issues such as obvious bugs, why they are being missed, will the game make it's deadline in it's current state, or anything else related to the conversation so far... I'd be happy to oblige. If you plan on attempting to lure me into a "fight" or continue to talk to me as though I'm an idiot or a child who needs to go sit in a corner, then I'd think more carefully on that before responding.

So far, I've kept things very civil and am making a concerted effort to maintain my composure with regards to your attitude towards me right now. That won't last long. Let's remember... we have Mods who are likely watching this conversation very closely right now. Perhaps it's better to agree to disagree, not put words in each others mouths, talk to each other with a certain amount of respect, and let this be the end of our conversation.

Cheers!

Okay, cool it everybody... *sprays Ultimate Clay and Rustbukkit (and any bystanders) with ice cold water* I know no-one has lost their cool yet, but before you do (but better off if you just don't), may I say something?

First of all, most of responses I've seen to Rustbukkit's comments are all emotionally based. While I may not entirely agree with his assessment - as many of you don't - he is certainly entitled to his opinion based on his experience with the game. Too many people in this world make the common mistake of taking offense when someone says something against something they love. It's not a personal attack. So what if Rustbukkit or anyone else HATED the beta?? What if they hated it so much they decided to never, ever buy LBP2, 3, 4, 5 or 20? Does that mean it's any less fun for those who love it? Of course not. So when people make a criticism of the game or Mm's proposed schedule or anything else, please remember that it's not a character attack on the individuals at Mm or their "honour" and there's no need to get out your dueling pistols... just remember people are simply expressing opinions.

If you don't love it - don't buy it. And don't let those who feel that way ruin your fun if you are one who loves it. That is all. Please continue...

I just got mine at 12:00 am. But it's invalid, as are others who've received their code tonight.

From What you're saying rustbukkit, you think LBP2 is going to be garbage based on the betas performance? I hope that's not true, raining on my parade haha.2010-12-11 08:02:00
