Sackboy Drawing (Advice)

Archive: 8 posts

Here's a picture of Sackboy I drew just for the benefits of people who want to like to draw. I included numbers to show you which ones you're suppose to draw first.

Actually, if you're drawing Sackboy in a more complicated pose, it's best to draw the body first - The body gives you a guideline on where the head should go, so it doesn't end up looking strange. But in more straightforward poses like standing, it's easier to draw the head first. In addition to that, I end up drawing the face last, because I tend to focus more on the position Sackboy is in so I can get a better idea of what his expression he's wearing. But that's just the way I do it. It's a pretty useful guide, but everybody draws differently - It's not like there's an absolute concrete order in which you have to draw Sackboy's body parts.

As for the drawing itself, though, it's really cute. (:

Oh dear...I hope I didn't sound like I was saying my way is better than yours, or that your guide is useless. I really didn't mean to come off like that, and I apologize if I did - of course it's very helpful, I was just saying that there are a lot of different ways of doing it!

Baw crap...I voted 'yes' on the poll, but my crazy tablet made the mouse go all over the place and then it clicked 'no'. fffFFFFUUUU!

I usually start with the head , whether it be sackboy or any character, but I'll usually draw like a stick figure 'skeleton' of how I want them to pose (often left on as I scan them and colour digitally), But your method is good! seems quite useful though sackboy's body is a bit too long, it should stop where his 'thumbs' are, otherwise, nice little method!2010-12-10 07:59:00

I normally start with the head, but of course, I'm a much less experienced artist and the only different poses that I've done are things like hanging from a rope, running, or flying. Nothing real complex.2010-12-12 20:39:00
