after analyzing the trailer in depth, I noticed the ?20 note at the beginning. Will Drake head to england in this game? (as one of the other locations I mean) obviously its set in Arabia as the main location. | 2010-12-10 18:25:00 Author: Pattington_Bear Posts: 777 |

Tbh, I've yet to play any of the "Uncharted" games, never really saw the "why" to, anyone care explaining to me why this series has such hype? | 2010-12-10 21:45:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Tbh, I've yet to play any of the "Uncharted" games, never really saw the "why" to, anyone care explaining to me why this series has such hype? It has a great story, amazing graphics, enthralling gameplay, and a massive amount of beautiful cutscenes. You're essentially getting a movie and game. | 2010-12-10 21:53:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
I can't explain why we all love the series, because are expectations and opinions are all different. so here's IGN's reviews of the first 2 games UC http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/834/834931p1.html UC2 http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/103/1034492p1.html | 2010-12-10 21:54:00 Author: Pattington_Bear Posts: 777 |

Thx, but reviews I've read, I want "Personal opinion" from the playeers that like it., not that were paid to wirtte an opinion. Also, does it have multyplayer? | 2010-12-11 00:13:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Also, does it have multyplayer? First doesn't second does | 2010-12-11 00:16:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
Also, does it have multyplayer? Uncharted 2 had, so I'm betting this one will have too. But the singleplayer is epic enough. | 2010-12-11 00:16:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |

I really like the series because it's realistic (not just graphics-wise), the environments are like, wow, it's fun, the story is great, and like piggabling said, it's like a movie you get to interact with. It's really an amazing game. | 2010-12-11 00:18:00 Author: TheZimInvader Posts: 3149 |

It's really an amazing game. One thing that isn't too realistic is his amazing ability to climb and jump everything XD. | 2010-12-11 03:09:00 Author: rseah Posts: 2701 |
One thing that isn't too realistic is his amazing ability to climb and jump everything XD. Of course it is. Youtube or Google "Parkour" It's the closest thing you can get to Drake's so-called ninja wall hopping uber l33tness skillz. If he started running on the ceiling or climbing a wall with only his pinky, then I would consider that unrealistic. | 2010-12-11 03:27:00 Author: illuminationx Posts: 860 |

Seriously, words cannot describe it. Just after Uncharted 2 was released last year I didn't see what all the hype was about, but I was recieving a free promo copy of the game a week later. Having not played the first one I went out and bought it so that I knew the stroy so far and what to expect. And I just couldn't put it down. Finished the story of Uncharted 1 in a couple of days, and it was awesome that I went out and bought Uncharted 2 the next day, even though a free one was already on its way to me. And even though 1 was great, 2 was better in every possible way. I usually just stick to racing games and LBP, I wasn't even a fan of this genre. I am so so glad I did eventually play them. You really don't know what you're missing out on. | 2010-12-11 19:05:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |

You really don't know what you're missing out on. This is the raction/ response I was waiting for, the ones people talk like this are the ones that are usually worth it. That's what I needed to push me to want to buy it, I'm pretty sure the 1st one already dropped price to the $30's, so I should at least be able to get that one soon-ish Idk if I'll be able to get the 2nd one tho, but its also price-dropped so maybe I'll pick that one up 1st. Would I be missing "much" or relevans stuff if I buy the 2nd game 1st? I mean stuff you need to know in order to solve things or to understand parts of the game, not things I'll just see a flashback of it right after they mention it. | 2010-12-11 23:06:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
I was kinda disappointed in how little Uncharted 2 was related to Uncharted 1... But yeah, you can play Uncharted 2 without playing Uncharted 1. Pretty much nothing from 1 is mentioned in 2- you just have to know that Nate and Elena hooked up in 1, pretty much. Uncharted 1 is 20 bucks used and 30 new... Uncharted 2 is 30 bucks used, and the GOTY edition (which has all the multiplayer stuff) is 60 bucks... But yeah. buy it. Now. It's awesome. :kz: | 2010-12-11 23:09:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |

Not, you can buy the second game first and play it with no loss, think of the first game as a backstory of the second. | 2010-12-11 23:10:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |

You don't need to play Drake's Fortune first, but I'd recommend it. I'm pleased I played it first, not only because the story takes place before Among Thieves, but because the Among Thieves is just so much better. Always best to play games in order. | 2010-12-12 01:06:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |
Just finished watching the Spike TV Video Game Awards, and Uncharted 3 was at the very end - Dayum that is gonna be good. It only showed like a teensy bit of gameplay, but wooow. @Silverleon I actually just bought the 2nd game without playing the first. It's a bit confusing at the start but it's pretty easy to follow on as the plot starts to unravel a bit more. | 2010-12-12 03:48:00 Author: rseah Posts: 2701 |

Trailer is up on the US and EU stores. Two extra “hidden” goodies can be got using the code F57M-BNN2-G33H. The goods are an Uncharted 3 ‘logo’ avatar and a static theme. Note that the code will only work for SCEE PSN accounts. | 2010-12-12 12:46:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |

I have such high hopes for this game........ now the question: LBP2 or Uncharted 3 for GOTY?? lol I will undoubtably spend much much much more time with LBP2 with its near endless value for money and its great community, but man was Uncharted 2 a great game and what if ND make this even better lol | 2010-12-12 14:47:00 Author: Unknown User |
Also my advice to people is dont buy the dynamic theme for Uncharted 3, I bought it and it was very low res and didnt look very good. However the wallpaper is very nice so go and download that because its really nice | 2010-12-12 14:48:00 Author: Unknown User |

The visuals look insane. Im sure this is going to be even more epic than the last. Agreed. Good thing Naughty Dog can create gameplay and cutscenes that can compliment the gameplay. Ok, fine, I'm convinced, I'll buy UC2, gonna skip on 1 as I hear is quite boring in comparison, so I'll just watch a speed run or something to catch up on the little details. So, yeah, all of you trying to convince me better play some co-op or vs with me. | 2010-12-18 21:25:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

I mean, Skrillex is great and all, but dubstep and Uncharted? Nope. But wow, Uncharted with gun and character customization? I never really saw UC2 needed that, and it just seems weird in UC3. | 2011-04-19 02:20:00 Author: Kog Posts: 2358 |

I dont know if its just me but i dont know why people like this game, its too hard to aim at someone with a grenade or an AK, i guess its just too fast paced for me, not my kind of PS3 game, played the beta, not buying it. | 2011-09-05 01:34:00 Author: Charlemagne Posts: 513 |

Reviews never dictate what I buy and I don't put much stock in numbers but seeing this 10/10 score made this Sony fanboy smile: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is the reason I play video games. From the smile plastered on my face during the opening montage to the disbelief that swept over me as Chapter 2 began to the middle of the night text message I shot a friend about a relationship reveal, I couldn't stop loving this touching, beautiful, fun and engaging game. From the moment the music swells on the title screen to the moment the credits roll, Uncharted 3 is a masterpiece. That shouldn't surprise you. The original Drake's Fortune set the bar for visuals and third-person adventures on the PlayStation 3. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves greatly improved on that, added multiplayer and climbed its way to the 2009 IGN Game of the Year award. Developer Naughty Dog spent the two years since then making bigger moments -- think platforming in a capsized cruise ship and surviving a cargo plane crash -- and working on the few complaints from the last title. Complaints primarily stemming from the fact that, to some, Uncharted 2 felt too much like the original Uncharted. Uncharted 3's tale sounds familiar. We have the same cast of characters in our handsome hero Nathan Drake and his seasoned mentor Victor "Sully" Sullivan and the same general idea of a lost city that needs finding before the bad guys get there. But this isn't the games that came before. Uncharted 3's greatest strength is its unpredictability. From the barroom brawl that opens the game and introduces its new melee system to a mid-game conversation between villainess Katherine Marlowe and Drake that literally redefines a pillar of this franchise, I didn't know what to expect in Uncharted 3. Naughty Dog sets aside the betrayal/twist formula used in the first two games and focuses on Nate and Sully's relationship. It takes you to the precipice of the Uncharted hallmarks you might expect, let's you stare at them, and then veers off in another direction. Yes, the gameplay still revolves around climbing walls and shooting bad guys, but refinement found those mechanics. For the first time, the words "fun" and "useful" describe melee combat. Uncharted 2's clumsy stealth parts no longer exist. Running through levels and taking cover doesn't get old because Naughty Dog has done so much to merge the gameplay with the story, perfecting the pacing and making everything look fantastic in the process thanks to cutting edge graphics and excellent cinematography. The end product rises above what the buttons do and how you maneuver Drake. Calling it a game sells Uncharted 3 short. This is an experience, a complete package. When I rant about why Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is better than just about anything on the market -- about why I think it's my new favorite game of all time -- I don't talk about the firefights, the new ability to throw grenades back at enemies or collecting the game's 101 well-hidden treasures. I talk about the heart-wrenching section where Drake is by himself and completely lost. He's on his last legs, he's desperate, and I'm right there with him. I'm pushing him through the journey at hand and it's clear that it's a game, but as he stumbles, seeks shelter and loses hope, my heart breaks. In a way, this is what Naughty Dog has been building to for the last four years. Players know the Uncharted cast. Most love the banter between Drake and Sully, the love affair between Elena and Drake or the one-liners Drake shouts to himself as the game goes on. Naughty Dog created a universe here that players feel connected with, but, again, the developers toy with that. They insert things that take the mentor/pupil relationship to another level. They flesh out backstories, they break bonds, and they make us face the characters' worst fears. And, no, those fears aren't clowns. A story-driven affair, Uncharted 3's believability and connection with the player comes from its performances. For the third game in a row, the cast dazzles. The actors record their lines along with their movements, and this leads to characters that feel real. The chemistry between them lights up the game in a way most mediums would kill for -- from tiny touches like fist bumps to major moments of bickering between lovers. Add in a musical score that accentuates the action and layer on the game's trademark, "best in the industry" graphics -- sand clinging to Drake's hair, fire creeping up walls, sunlight filtering through tattered roofs -- and you can see where this game becomes more than pressing the X button and jamming on analog sticks. When the tale finishes, you can look forward to multiplayer. Uncharted 2 introduced competitive and cooperative modes for the series, and Uncharted 3 improves them to make something special. The standard menu returns (team deathmatch, capture the flag, etc.), but Naughty Dog adds bonuses known as Boosters and Kickbacks to round out the experience. These are upgradable bonuses that you equip to make the multiplayer experience more your own. Boosters augment your entire session -- one reduces respawn time, one lets you climb faster -- whereas the in-match medals you earn count toward unlocking your Kickback, which can instantly spawn an RPG or double your cash earned for a short period of time. These spice up the gameplay; you can pepper them into one of your four saved loadouts and have a skill set for any situation. This stuff will keep me coming back. Even when I have a terrible match in Uncharted 3 multiplayer, I see the cash I've earned counting toward my next level and I see my Boosters earning experience and becoming more powerful. Toss all this into the pot, and matches in Uncharted 3 multiplayer feel fresh every time. The verticality mixed with gunplay leads to different attack plans. There's a sweet science to deploying a Kickback at the perfect time for a critical kill. New Power Plays give teams getting blown out a leg-up like double damage so that everyone feels like they have a shot at competing. Plus, three team deathmatch (2v2v2) is awesome, and you can play split-screen with two different PSN profiles, a rarity on the PlayStation 3. For many of you, these multiplayer facts aren't news, as fans have been playing the final version of multiplayer as part of a North American Subway promotion for weeks. However, there was an outcry when the beta went live because Naughty Dog adjusted the damage dealt by bullets and players were now able to absorb more. Many threw their hands up in disgust, and Naughty Dog listened. The developers went in and dialed the damage back to what it was in the summer beta. Don't mistake this anecdote as a mistake; it points out the commitment Naughty Dog puts into this multiplayer community. The developers make a game and they want people to enjoy it, they listen to feedback, and they act. There's not much more you can ask from a game creator, and it's one of the reasons I want to keep playing and keep leveling. Add in the fact that Naughty Dog supported Uncharted 2 multiplayer until now and already has seven DLC packs planned for Uncharted 3 multiplayer, and it's clear this game has legs. So I just recently saw the IGN review, go up it got a perfect score. The one thing i'm seeing about this game, more than even the excitement I have to get my hands on it and dive into Nathan Drakes story once again is how incredible it is. This is a game that truly makes me happy to call myself a gamer. It's incredible to think around 30-40 years ago people were making pixels move and calling it pong and that was groundbreaking. Now companies are creating whole worlds with breathing environments in them. The video game medium is a huge industry now, and it's evident just from naughty dog, they used to be known for Crash Bandicoot who was incredible and now Uncharted. My hat is of to Naughty Dog and the rest of the developers that have created this medium into the awesome experience it is now. As for Uncharted 3 it looks incredible and i'm so excited to get to play it!!! | 2011-10-24 18:10:00 Author: Frank-the-Bunny Posts: 1246 |

I started my campaign yesterday, 5.5 hours in, chapter 12 I think. Best graphics in the history of gaming, period. Every level has a holy ******* moment. The banter between the characters, the score, the setpieces, it's all absolutely amazing. Will be back with a lot more thoughts upon completion | 2011-10-29 13:40:00 Author: OCK Posts: 1536 |

I have to wait till Tuesday... atleast I have Battlefield 3 to occupy me | 2011-10-31 00:31:00 Author: theswweet Posts: 2468 |
I have to wait til Tuesday as well. Just a dew days ago I spent many, many hours completing the platinum trophy; I had to finish half the game on crushing, plus get 25 treasures, complete a coopertive game, beat 75 enemies without dieing, and defeat 10 enemies in a row with a single punch(after softening them up with gunfire of course). I did all that in one night, and man I feel accomplished. Its times like these I was some famous youtube comentator and I could livestream stuff like that. Ah well, U3, I will see you soon! | 2011-10-31 03:27:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |

Uncharted 3: the first two hours impressions( Spoiler free). Note this is not a review Story I think the story has potential, but unlike Uncharted 2, it takes a really long time to get..exciting like its predecessor. For one, there are WAY more puzzles in this one, and it isnt nearly as funny as the old two, but the story is still interesting. In fact, several chapters may surprise you in the beginning in the way it unfolds. Its starting to get good; if a bit predictable. Gameplay This also leads to my biggest gripe with the way the game begins, you will be climbing more than you are shooting bad guys. You will mostly be doing puzzles, climbing and watching the story. The melee system isnt as cool as many make it seems like; its just like Uncharted 2's just with way more animations. There still not really much more strategy to it, other than press triangle or circle when it appears. The gunplay...feels a bit less polished than UN2, maybe its just me. The cover system is as wonky as always. In fact, most of the good additions like sprinting are only available in multiplayer. If you played Uncharted 2, then you should crank it up to hard mode. Thats what I am playing on starting out, and it feels just right. Graphics and Music: Well so far it looks like Uncharted 2. I cant really say its much better, but then again how can graphics get much better than uncharted. The animations are what bring it to a different calibur. Drake stumbles over rocks on the ground--thats how realistic these animations can get. The music seems as good as always to. Overall it didnt have the "wow" factor I was expecting, but its fun. I found Multiplayer co-op to be a bit funner than the actual campaign. But I havent tried everything yet. Any questions? | 2011-11-01 23:09:00 Author: Rpg Maker Posts: 877 |

But I've seen the full walkthrough on youtube and it's amaaaaaaazing!!! Why in the name of Sir Francis Drake would you spoil this game - of all games - for yourself??? What follows are my thoughts on the campaign, contains some minor spoilers, you have been warned!!! Uncharted 3 continues the pattern of opening the game with a different gameplay mechanic. Uncharted saw us on a boat getting very familiar with the gunplay. Uncharted 2 threw us into an epic set-piece based around platforming. Uncharted 3 opens with a stylish, visceral introduction to the new melee combat system. Counters, grabs and combos are all well and good but the most interesting thing about the new system is the contextual finishing moves. Nate will grab nearby objects for some flashy attacks, beer bottles/hammers/fish(!) are all fair game. Slamming heads into objects never gets old and I found this addition to the franchise a welcome one. UC3 is a beautiful game, a gorgeous game, a jaw-droppingly glorious game. At a quick glance it may not appear as though there has been much change from the masterful UC2 but that couldn't be further from the truth. The biggest change relates to moving/dynamic environments. There are levels/set-pieces where the environment is constantly moving/changing and playing through these sections is truly a sight to behold. Structures crumble, "ground" shifts, the physics are really shown off with objects reacting realistically to the on-screen action. Lighting is another technical facet that cant be praised enough. At times you will notice individual rays of sunlight piercing through the environment, day/night bring their own pleasures for the eyes. Shadows, bloom, fire, the expected vibrant color palette, these all combine to create the most spectacular lighting effects in the industry, I continued to be impressed from beginning to end. Finally the animation is even more nuanced and detailed then the prior installments with so many small visual flourishes and attention to detail that one must question whether the team at Naughty Dog is composed of wizards and warlocks! The Uncharted series has always had some really impressive set-pieces and breath-taking vistas to admire. You thought the train sequence in UC2 was impressive? There are multiple moments in UC3 game that put that to shame, seriously. Watching the burning chateau sequence vid that was released months ago could not prepare me for the sheer visual/aural adrenalin rush of actually playing it and that is only one moment of many. You will be astounded and amazed at the insanity Naughty Dog has come up with, every level brings it's own unique delights and the pacing is absolutely perfect. One moment your running and gunning, the next your admiring gigantic statues and there is a puzzle to solve. The platforming is exhilarating, the gunplay is the same as always, you either love it or hate it. The whole art style of the game is fantastic, many rooms/environments left me in awe. Sound is another strong point. The sweeping orchestral score has the epic feel I have come to love in the Uncharted games and there is some great Arabic themed tracks to spice things up in service if some of the Middle Eastern environments. Voice acting, as always, is the best in the biz. These characters feel real, I was invested in them, I cared about what happened to them, I was amused by their conversations, by the nuances of their relationships. I love that even when Drake is by himself you get to hear various quips and comments about his situation. The best exchanges though are when Sully and Drake are together. I really get the sense that the actors playing these roles genuinely enjoyed playing these characters and have grown close over the course of 3 games. Everything feels so natural, it's all just perfect. The writing is stellar and I am happy we finally get to learn the bond between Sully and Drake... It took me about just under 10 hours to finish on Hard, found 68/100 treasures and immediately started another campaign on Crushing. I wish the game were longer, it's so **** good! Still, even without the surprise element during a second playthrough I really look forward to playing all the epic moments again, to admiring the stunning environments, to laughing at the jokes. It's been a long time since I have seen a game receive multiple "perfect" scores but now that I have experienced it for myself I believe the scores are deserved, that's without even trying the expansive multiplayer suite. The dedication from Naughty Dog to create something truly special should serve as an inspiration to the rest of the industry. I have bought and completed about 30 games this year and already decided that Dark Souls was my GOTY. It still is except now it will share that honor with Uncharted 3 | 2011-11-02 14:11:00 Author: OCK Posts: 1536 |
I wrote a spoiler free review. If anyone is interested you can read it here. I'll be sure to read through that review later. If you like Uncharted, then you owe it to yourself to get this game. Especially if you like playing online. The Co-op modes are fun. The stories a bit short and there arent any unlockables--Yes, Naughty Dog removed the "cheats" because they caused problems apparently, so all the unlocks are basically in multiplayer. The good news is you can do the co-op missions offline. But, I like multiplayer, so am enjoying it | 2011-11-02 14:56:00 Author: Rpg Maker Posts: 877 |
Loving the game so far, I'm about 2 hours in on hard mode, which seems to be oddly simple. If you've beaten the other two already then I'd recomend starting it on hard mode, so far It's been about even to the other twos normal mode. I'm avoiding multiplayer at the moment as I've heard that one of the maps is a massive spoiler, kinda like the lost city was last time. As a fan of old school platformers and adventure games I have to say that I much prefer this one to the other two as there are far less awkwardgun fight segments, which I believe were the worst part of the first two anyway due to the roll and cover buttons. I haven't found a way to swttch sholders when aiming with a long gun yet though... anyone? france level is amazing!!!!!!!! | 2011-11-03 09:14:00 Author: Smudge228 Posts: 533 |
The switch shoulders thing is turned off by default in the options/controls. I have no idea why. (L3) It doesn't remember your preference either, which I thought it did in U2... I'm up to chapter 12 or so, so far rather disappointed. I heard it gets better from now, but that should have happened ages ago. Uncharted is good because of the single player, so why put all the effort into the multiplayer? :| And there are no cheats/bonuses, not much motivation to replay... Why the developers think every gamer likes trophies is beyond me. Games are meant to be fun. I'm going to be honest, I don't like pure climbing and puzzles. They are only good when bad guys are around. Oh and during that star puzzle, he's like, come on drake, hurry up. And I'm like "I'm pressing every button you noob!" Oh. I have to stand on this tile that no one told me to do? And after dying a bunch of times attempting to out run (something/one) the prompt only comes up at the end of the section after 5 or so attempts. (ex. Press squre not to die) Perhaps if you told me that eariler I wouldn't have to die 5 times.. And the melee is just an inferior version of Batman's. They are some good bits, but geez, some bits are stupid. EDIT: Just finished the game on normal, some spoiler thoughts: Boat graveyard was great with the tide/waves and such. Horses was pretty cool too. Last level was ok. Mashing the triangle button was very lame for a final boss. They could have done much more with the hallucinogen. Fire demons/djinn could have been expanded. Plus no spider boss? :/ Probably the worst game in the Uncharted series. People giving this game perfect scores is laughable imo. | 2011-11-04 01:08:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |

I finished it today. I'll put my comments in a spoiler just in case. EDIT: Not just "just in case", mainly because this wall of text contains major spoilers and I am expecting you to have completed the game if you want to read this. Or eventually want to spoil the game for yourself... I enjoyed it. I actually enjoyed it a lot. Somehow I still feel a tiny bit disappointed. It might be because I didn't exactly know what to expect. I had already seen the best bits in trailers, which is quite sad considering I wasn't exactly turning the internet upside down for information. The lost city was pretty much the only thing I hadn't seen before, which was undoubtedly a spectacular view. It does however not compare to Shambala from the second game. It felt like the story was already over when I got to the city, which lead me to thinking "Alright, let's see what supernatural stuff there is in here, kill those guys and watch the city come crumbling down." That pretty much happened. Except for the fact that I had expected more from that part. I was excited for some hard to kill creatures. All I got was hallucinations. Sure, it is something new but if they were going to go with that, why not expand on that? The whole tripping balls idea is great but it felt short. The death of Marlene and the eventual "boss fight" with that other guy (can't remember his name) was actually a let down after expecting an epic fight like with Zoran Lazarevic in the second game. The story didn't make much sense here. Sure, there's a lost city and they're going after it and in the meantime it is proven that Nate is risking too much. In the second game you had an enemy that was actually doing some searching on their own. Here you just went and explored which lead to the inevitable gunfights. Surviving all that stuff doesn't make much sense but I guess it's ok for an Uncharted game, lol. I'm not sure if there were too many epic moments or if there was too little "normal gameplay" in between. Constantly having to avoid certain death and escaping an exploding <insert vehicle here> removes the tension. Exploring caverns or jumping on cliffs back and forth may seem boring but it really makes the rest seem so much better. Having the big moments spoiled beforehand doesn't help much either. I could take portal 2 as an example here. I absolutely loved the story there because it took me completely by surprise and it was interesting from start to finish. Being stuck on one puzzle just made sequences filled with action seem so much better. Back to Uncharted now... I had already seen footage of Nate hanging from the plane (trailer). I had seen the plane having crashed in the desert (trailer). I had seen the boat starting to sink (E3 demo). I had seen the chateau burn down (trailer and some demo). Those moments would have been fantastic if they weren't already spoiled for me. I was expecting the plane to crash. I was expecting the boat to sink. I was expecting the chateau to burn. There wasn't much that took me by surprise and amazed me completely. I could have stayed away from trailers and gameplay demos completely but that would have been pretty much impossible for me. Naughty Dog should be able to keep some epic moments secret a little better. I didn't know anything about the whole story in portal 2 and I had been looking for stuff (well, not exactly spoilers but gameplay and stuff), that is how you keep secrets. Having the last part of a game secret (the lost desert city here) is indeed cool, but it was too expected. Seeing the whole place come down just like in the last game just didn't make it feel absolutely epic, just a bit "heh, that's cool, there's flowing sand" Anyway, I loved the gameplay and I loved the story for what it was. I do recommend this game to everyone who liked the previous ones... but considering the fact I put this here in spoilers pretty much means anyone who reads this has played the game. I do realize that I made this sound like a negative review. It was not. It was merely a critique on the parts that I didn't like. For the rest I can just say wow, well done Naughty Dog. Ooooh right... I forgot... the second chapter, the backstory that is, 20 years earlier with young Nathan (who reminded me of Andy from Toy Story, lol) was actually a pretty big surprise and amazingly pulled off by Naughty Dog. I still have to play the multiplayer, I hope there's some good maps that make it really enjoyable. | 2011-11-04 21:25:00 Author: napero7 Posts: 1653 |
Masterpiece for now. I'll publish my long rant here after having finished it. | 2011-11-05 07:37:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |
The singleplayer portion is a masterpiece, the online is a mess. Here's why the online sucks: - Melee is broken: you can just hit swing your arms in the air 3 meters away from your enemy and it'll still count as a hit. -Treasure system is dumb: When playing online, enemies can drop treasures. These treasures are required to unlock special weapons. The problem is that 99% of the time you pick up a treasure, it's a treasure you already have. Why would I need a treasure I already have?! -Climbing and jumping is clunky: Not much to say here.. -Stealth kills takes too long to complete: What happened to me; When I was snapping some random opponent's neck, a grenade came flying through the air. You'd think I'd manage to complete my stealth kill before that grenade arrived, but no. The grenade exploded just before I was going to put my victim on the ground (that means he's already dead). Instead the grenade explodes and kill us both.. Customization is overpriced: Why do I need to pay $100 000 for a pair of gloves!?! Co-Op is okay though. | 2011-11-05 17:24:00 Author: VenemoX Posts: 197 |
No Spoilers: Finished it. This game is great. Better than great. As with its predecessor, it goes beyond all expectations. Although unlike it's predecessor, it's not the most amazingly polished game I've ever seen. I'm not going to say what's so good about this game. I'm sure you have already heard loads of compliments in reviews so I don't think I need to repeat what has already been said a hundred times. I shouldn't have to convince anybody that this is a must play. So I'm going to say what I liked the least, even though none of my complaints is relevant enough to become an actual criticism. -For starters, I expected the game to be a bit longer. I'm not saying it's a short game. It shouldn't be longer, it just could be longer. I was told that it'd be around 8-9 hours, but even then I expected the duration to feel more close Uncharted 2's than Uncharted 1's. I'm a pretty good player and I finished in 8 hours. The content makes up for it, as they were some of, if not the best 8 hours I spent playing until now but I still felt they could have squeezed in a couple of extra hours. The arab city we visit was just begging for a few firefights like we had in Nepal in the previous game, and the final location should have had a few climbing and puzzle sections on par with its artistic magnificence. -The story's focus is Nate's relationship with Sully and that was a very satisfying topic as I missed Sully's companionship for a big part of the previous game. BUT. About in the middle of the game the plot gets a little unfocused. There was an entire subplot about dealing with a pirate that felt completely redundant, it really didn't advance the story in one bit. But then again, the set pieces it enabled completely redeemed this, as you will find out when you play it. -And finally what bugged me the most now that I reflect upon it: the pacing got a bit sloppy, especially when you compare it to Uncharted 2. In Uncharted 2 you started with a bang (because of the in medias res storytelling structure), the next 2 hours or so were spent warming up and once you got in the ravaged city in Nepal it was a continuous journey whose stakes kept getting higher. It was relentless in a good way, the "WTF moments" just kept coming and our adventure never felt interrupted even when we had a calm and relaxing walk through that isolated tibetan village. Uncharted 3 doesn't have the same uninterrupted progression. We visit many locations around the world which is quite awesome but unfortunately there's barely any transition in between. We complete the story arc of a certain location, there's a little cutscene in which the characters decide where to go next, it fades out and in the next scene they're already in another region of the world. It doesn't have that continuous escalating feeling because of that, it seems more like it's divided into episodes. All in all, this game turned out even better than we expected it to be. Well, I expected it to be better than I expected, but my human mind isn't prepared for that kind of paradox. It's a must have just like Uncharted 2 even though I felt like some of the things that made Uncharted 2 a tight experience have become sloppy. I can't recommend U3 over U2 and vice-versa because they are both simply mandatory games. The question of which Uncharted game is considered the best will boil down only to personal preference. Personally, I like Uncharted 2 more because of the better pacing and because I can't resist those lush Nepalese/Tibetan environments. | 2011-11-05 18:19:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |

Masterpiece. The "game" is not perfect, the "experience" goes beyond perfection. This series has become iconic and legendary just like Metal Gear Solid. We're not talking only about play, but as an overall interactive experience. The story, the pace, the setpieces. Naughty Dog managed to squeeze something impressive from a lame premise. A guy, a bit sly that resemble the guy next door. Drake is not Snake, nor Batman or Dante, he's just a pretty common guy in a pretty realistic World, and that is limiting very much what you can achieve with gameplay. That's why I mean that the game is not perfect, my idea of perfection is Bayonetta...but the experience that Naughty Dog offered is sheer brilliance, the story of a man that pursues his dreams, stubbornly at times, with a bit of luck and passion, and with a magnetic attitude that allows him to have trusted friends. The story with Sully is great and how it is narrated is sheer brilliance. This game is about emotions and how they're concealed to the players with little touches...like the 5 o'clock shadow of beard of Sully in the latest chapters. Those are little particulars that help the player dive in what the characters are going through. On a tech perspective the game is gorgeous, and the artistic direction is top notch. Again, I always favour experiences not set in the real World, I like to see Worlds of immagination, places never explored, but Naughty Dog has the recipe to make a suk or a city like Cartagena look epic, vivid and most of all truly credible. Now, the thing I want to do is a big marathon through the whole trillogy, but just after playing U3 on an easier setting to take all the treasures with a guide | 2011-11-06 07:10:00 Author: OmegaSlayer Posts: 5112 |

My Opinions: -It feels more like a mystery adventure game kinda like the first one, more then the action packed slaughter fest of the second -The characters, old and new (cutter=YAY!!!) are all completly awesome, but chloe is basically a completly different character now. -Elena and chloe feel a little bit forced into the story. my guess is that after naughty dog didn't announce them and everyone started screaming for them, they decided they had to be put into the game, so their apearances don't add to the story for this reason. -shooting is terrible. the only negative comment I have with the game really. the aiming is really hard compared to the previous 2 and shoulder swap shouldn't have to be manually turned on every time the game is booted up. on occasion when moving left and right in cover, Drake will just decide he no longer wants to croutch down and will simply stop taking cover. This is very frustrating on the later levels. the game also feels far too frustrating. Compared to the variety of ways to beat a level in uncharted 2 this one seems basically to force you to stay in the exact location you are at the start of the shoot out, turning later levels into something of a gallery shooter. Now that you can throw grenades back, enemies will constantly just pelt you with them, and with the new larger radius, you'll need to throw back every last one. only problem is, sometimes the throwback counter won't appear leading to very annoying deaths where trying to roll away will lead to being shot and staying still will lead to being blown up. the verticle shooting segments are broken, as some times after you've shot and have taken your finger off l1, drake will keep aiming for 5 seconds longer, leading to unavoidable deaths. -the new armoured enemies are flippin' anoyin'. | 2011-11-06 11:19:00 Author: Smudge228 Posts: 533 |

Got it today, loving it so far... Question though, does anyone know if the online pass unlocks multiplayer for all accounts in the system or only the one used to redeem the code? Because my PS3 has mine and my brother's account, and I don't want to be forced to buy a new code so each one of us can play in our own accounts. | 2011-11-09 22:29:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |

The PSN Pass is DLC, and usable on ALL accounts for the PS3 | 2011-11-11 01:16:00 Author: theswweet Posts: 2468 |
So today, I got the Platinum. 22 hours of gameplay and I finally got it. My criticisms are that crushing is beyond incredibly difficult, the AI is completely lifeless, and I would pay money for DLC that removes the "circle to grab someone and push them" thing. Anyway, its funny, I got this game on November first, and nine days later I got the platinum. However, I checked the date I got Uncharted 2, which was September 5th 2010, and I got the platinum last October 27th. So, it took nine days for U3 platinum, and 13 months for U2. Hmm... Typical Sony, making you have to buy extra codes for more people in the same household... Should've guessed. Well, the code is going to my brother's because he paid for the game, so I'm not playing online on my account until (or if) I get another code. Way to go, Sony. Next time, don't even bother adding the option of having multiple accounts in one PS3. Gamesharing doesnt exist. | 2011-11-11 02:29:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |
My criticisms are that crushing is beyond incredibly difficult... Isn't that the whole dang point of Crushing mode? A maximum difficulty should be nigh impossible even for seasoned gamers. You managed to complete it though, it's proof that it isn't impossible, so it's easy enough. | 2011-11-11 13:40:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |
But it was hard to the point that it wasnt fun... U2 crushing was much more entertaining. Maybe they made it harder so that it would take longer to cover up the shortness of the game? | 2011-11-11 13:54:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |
The PSN Pass is DLC, and usable on ALL accounts for the PS3 Wait, one says one thing, other says another... Which one is true? Gamesharing doesnt exist. So it's fine that from now on I'm going to have to pay an extra 10 bucks for all games from now on so me and my brother can play on our own accounts in one PS3? Does this mean that if they introduce a "singleplayer pass" I'll have to pay an extra so we both can enjoy the game in our own profiles? Or that we'll have to buy two PS3s so we can have independent accounts? | 2011-11-11 17:47:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |

You can only download it once, to one ps3, but it works for ALL accounts on that PS3. Gamesharing is harder now, that is true, but you can still play and use anything thats downloaded on your PS3, no matter which account you are on. What you CAN do: Download seperately to two PS3, and two PSP systems, what you have bought on PSN with that account. Play any game downloaded to your PS3. with any downloaded/unlocked DLC. REGARDLESS of PSN account. What you CAN'T do: Download games using more than 2 PS3's or PSP's, for ONE account. Bottom line: You don't need another PSN Pass, you and your brother are fine. | 2011-11-11 19:08:00 Author: theswweet Posts: 2468 |

Pass is working for both accounts... Makes me wonder, if you use one of the fat costumes, does your hitbox increase? No idea. Maybe it increases but there's less damage? To be serious now, I actually used Marco Polo's skin. Not for the "I platinum'ed this baby" status but because I guessed It'd be harder to spot a skeleton running around than a person with flashy colored clothes. Chloe's bright red top must've been very easy to spot. | 2011-11-14 22:21:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |

Been playing scince day 1 and I'm only just level 22. not keen on the current leveling system though, I tried my first competetive match today and it paired me up with a bunch of high level players who had obviously had a lot of experience playing competetive. maybe a seprate level for coop and competetive play would be a good idea? Also first DLC pack of maps has basically been anounced. its gonna be remakes of old maps, with massive twists. two images have been released which show remakes of fort and ice cave, ice cave is now jungle temple type place and fort is all rainy and odd | 2011-11-16 17:54:00 Author: Smudge228 Posts: 533 |

Yes, this is a Pet peeve for me in MP. But didn't Uncharted Boast player vrs player level matching? As far as I know, i made it to level 25 in UC2 and Ive never been paired with significantly advanced players before. | 2011-11-17 01:15:00 Author: grayspence Posts: 1990 |
That reminds me... I killed 2 people high-fiving earlier, sniped 'em both. They raged. Why did they rage? It's obviously risk for reward gameplay. *rolleyes* I think elements like high-fiving and the daredevil booster are the best part of this game. I'm using the M9 most of the time. I tried g-mal + AK, but I didn't like them. I'm level 66, but I still suck. | 2011-11-17 03:17:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
i think that the talbot fall-ss and katherine m9 is best. is the tal-sniper a good weapon i unlocked i heard you cant change zoom and low ammo has it got the same damage as the dragon sniper? i know it cant kill in 1 hit like the awesome t-bolt sniper i got a kill for every shot taken even though im crap at sniping thank you uc3 for practice m9 or fall-ss for short to mid range then blindfire right next to them and melee them is the best stragety for killing players with or without dying ( i think im lvl 55 been playing a lot of dc universe) | 2011-11-17 17:36:00 Author: danger sackboy Posts: 177 |

I am loving MP. None of my 57 friends bought the game, so I've just added two random people that I can own with. I added one of them because we won a three team deathmatch in 4 minutes. The other one added me about 3 hours earlier. I'm level... 34 I think? Can't remember. But I have a question: Once you reach the level cap, does your level start over? Cause I've seen these people that have black diamonds around their level instead of whatever their symbol should be. I've seen a 67, 7, 56, and 34. All with black diamonds. What does it mean? | 2011-11-18 16:48:00 Author: jalr2d2 Posts: 256 |
THeres something called legacy wher you can choose to reset to level 1 and level up all your boosters again in exchange for being able to unlock some extra stuff I believe, such as the clown masks etc. although how anyone already has these legacies is beyond me. I only just hit level 25 and I've been playing alot more then usual recently. | 2011-11-18 20:44:00 Author: Smudge228 Posts: 533 |

Ok, so Ive been playing and playing hardcore over and over(its getting very tedious for me if you didnt puck that up) for the hardcore only mythology treasure set, which unlocks the FAL with 3 boosters. I get a treasure probably every 100 kills. Basically, its extremely rare. So today I was playing and I shot a guy, and he jumped off the edge, and OF COURSE he just HAD to be the one in a million to drop a treasure. Bear in mind they dont spawn on the map in hardcore like they do in the regular modes. I raged. Anyway, another thing, I was absolutely sure I had 2/3 of the mythology set, like 100%, but just now I got another treasure from it and it still said 2/3. I even recognized the treasure as the same one I got yesterday, and it said "mythology set 2/3. I didnt know you could get the same treasure twice? | 2011-11-28 17:05:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |

I don't really mind about the kal users, its those blinkin' fal ss users that get me. You die before you even know whats happening, and the only way to beat them 1 on 1 is to use a fal yourself, which because i don't play 24/7 ain't gonna happen for a loong time. they can kill you even when your behind cover! Ok, am I horrible or something? I have 21 hours of multiplayer playtime, but I currently have 1,267 kills. For 21 hours, thats pretty bad. For deaths, I have 1,468, which is bad as well, but its not horrible. Its just that everywhere I look, and Im not exaggerating, about 60% of peoples statistics I check(I check a lot, Im self conscious), they have more than double my kills in less than half the time. A few days ago I found a guy who had 15,000 kills in 9 hours. So my K/D is obviously bad, but compared to everyone else its absolutely horrible, especially for my play time. According to the statistics Ive seen, Im literraly one of the worst players Ive ever encountered. Whats wrong with me? | 2011-12-07 23:14:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |
I think I read somewhere that "time played" is reset each time you legacy. So a lvl 1 legacy can have (with minimal play time) can have a better kills:time played ratio than a non legacy lvl 75 player. Plus stats are not always accurate, as there are a bunch of quitters that only farm newbs for a favourable K : D ratio, until now 3TDM wins counted as losses, my accuracy with pistol is 103%, etc. I don't care about stats myself, I just play to kill time and have fun. Anyone starting to collect treasures? I've got all Objective mode treasures, and only need one more for TDM (gold item for Drake's Para 9), which is proving rather elusive even with lvl3 treasure booster. | 2011-12-08 03:47:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |

Im not a big searcher of treasures, considering I have the weapons I want(freakin figures you have to be level 50 to unlock the weapon I already unlocked...) and I use store bought skins(Tenzin and Lovac), so theres nothing I can unlock for my characters. I have thought about going on a treasure collecting frenzy though, but then theres no reward for it. | 2011-12-08 13:47:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |
(freakin figures you have to be level 50 to unlock the weapon I already unlocked...) Lazarevich's FAL-SS, isn't it? I use it all the time. Not like it's overpowered or anything... | 2011-12-08 14:03:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
No, I use Talbots. 5 days of hardcore, filling up other treasure sets, I even found the other 2 treasures in the 3 part set 5 times before I found the last. But I kept going, only to find that I still had to wait another 20 levels before I could use it. I actually ust got level 50 now, and its so worth it, it has 3 watchamicallits on it. | 2011-12-09 03:11:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |
Ok, so I finished it yesterday. (spoiler for those who haven't) What's the deal with Talbot? He gets shot, then is fine moments late. In another instance he appears to disappear into the ether. Was this ever really explained? | 2011-12-15 12:49:00 Author: Ali_Star Posts: 4085 |

Was this ever really explained? He survived getting shot by Cutter because he was wearing body armor. About him disappearing, I dunno, they are weird. | 2011-12-15 15:15:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
He survived getting shot by Cutter because he was wearing body armor. About him disappearing, I dunno, they are weird. I thought it was because Cutter was hallucinating. And yeah, Ive looked around a little, and no one seems to know whats up with talbot. Like, in the first chase scene, he gets away and you see him for a second in the crowd before your knocked over by some douchey arab. Then, just a few moments later, hes across that giant gap, and you can hardly see him hes so far away! During the fight, Drake even calls him "magic man"... | 2011-12-15 19:27:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |
What's the deal with Talbot? Echoing the words of everyone I know... | 2011-12-18 18:48:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |
I've been trying to find Elena's cat ears ever since I got this game, and I still haven't found the Chenrezig Buddha statue. You have to get it in Co-op, and I've played quite a bit of co-op, but I haven't seen it yet. Kinda sucks, 'cause I wanted to be a kitty. Anyone have any tips on how to find it? I've heard you can only find it in certain maps but I don't know if that's true or not. So I've beat story mode on Hard mode, (I haven't gotten around to playing it on Crushing yet. I like waiting a bit before replaying stuff) and I'm level 69 online right now. This is my favourite game to play online right now. If anyone wants to add me, go ahead... Here's a quick clip from a game of 3-Team Deathmatch I was in with my brother. We kinda won. By a lot. I don't have any real reason why I was using Speedy G as a medal kickback, though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHnklWievT0 | 2011-12-23 02:17:00 Author: KlawwTheClown Posts: 1106 |
Level 69 and you JUST beat the game? Wow, I had beat it once on hard and was a little ways through crushing and had about 3/5 of the trophies before I even pressed multiplayer... I buy Uncharted for the single player, not multiplayer. You can imagine how dissapointed I was when I realized how much attention the took from sp to put into mp... | 2011-12-23 02:42:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |
yeah, after the lost city map in multiplayer last time, I decided it was best to avoid it till after the story was over and done. | 2011-12-23 07:50:00 Author: Smudge228 Posts: 533 |

As soon as I finished the (disappointing) campaign, I tried out the multiplayer. Like you said, it is sadly obvious to see where ND's time and effort went into. Thankfully it's enjoyable enough with the latest update. Now if only they would tone down the Fal's stopping power a little, and fix the OP quickboom. :/ I wish there was an anti-quickboom booster or something. BTW, I added you Klaww. If anyone else wants to add me for some multiplayer, feel free to do so! | 2011-12-23 07:55:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |

Nah, I beat single player like, 2 days after I got the game. I just haven't bothered saying anything until now. I still liked the single player in Uncharted 1 best, I found Uncharted 3 to be a little bit too easy, with the only time I was 'stuck' in the game being a part in Syria where I didn't notice a door that I had to open. Hopefully the game on the Vita will have a really good story, since it has no multiplayer. Or at least I think it has no multiplayer. | 2011-12-23 13:26:00 Author: KlawwTheClown Posts: 1106 |
It has no multiplayer? That sounds VERY good. I dont buy uncharted for multiplayer. If they put 100% if their time into GA, then it better be exceptionally good. | 2011-12-23 16:17:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |
I can't really nail down what I didn't like about UC3's sp, I suppose it didn't really have the charm of the best or second games. Still a great game, nonetheless. Loving the multiplayer, although I'm the most "anti-tactics" player ever. I sprint head-on into firefights, so I get plenty of kills but plenty of deaths as well. I'm now sick of treasure hunting, as I always get the same treasure in the same bloody set everytime without fail. And what is even more infuriating is that I only need one treasure for said set to be complete, but I always end up with the same treasure I've received about a million times. | 2011-12-23 21:01:00 Author: talbot-trembler Posts: 1114 |
if you guys need to find the hidden relic its in chapter 4 when your in that pipe trying to get down you have to get to the vent at the top to get it with a trophy as well | 2011-12-24 18:21:00 Author: danger sackboy Posts: 177 |

That happened to me in the Beta. I ALWAYS got the same Relic over and over again... Maybe a flaw in the randomization factor? It looks like they either havent noticed it, or its just intended to be that way... personally i would just like to be able to purchase clothing/ characters with the money and ditch the treasure all together, just leaving it for singleplayer. | 2011-12-24 18:23:00 Author: grayspence Posts: 1990 |

Finished the story mode yesterday. Absolutely stunning storyline. Although I wanted to Kick talbots *** a little harder instead of just shooting him... And the part right before the end almost made me scream at my television when sully gets sniped by talbot In that instant I wanted to bust his face in. Good thing that it was all a massive twist xD | 2012-01-04 18:07:00 Author: grayspence Posts: 1990 |
I sent in another clip to rockshow2oo8, and this time I sure hope I get into the best plays of the week. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGQC5ribfM4&context=C3c8dae2ADOEgsToPDskJ3t1mBXGk1jMSFYKwg1Xq7 | 2012-01-15 20:57:00 Author: TheMonkeyBlade Posts: 687 |

Nice! I didn't even see you throw that grenade! Thanks! The grenade is pretty hard to see, huh? When I actually threw it I though I was going to miss because I was in the air when I through it. :3 | 2012-01-15 21:31:00 Author: TheMonkeyBlade Posts: 687 |

Anyone know if its just the maps or if theres any new modes or whatever? I'm getting the map pack, because i'm a fortune hunter. but i'm pretty sure it's going to be fifteen bucks, and I don't know if there's anything new, but I did hear a rumour about new treasures, and if there are new treasures then there is most likely going to be new costume pieces or guns. | 2012-01-16 20:53:00 Author: TheMonkeyBlade Posts: 687 |
Well the way i look at map packs, for any game, anyone who cares enough about multiplayer is gonna buy it. Those who suck that dont really care about them game dont buy it. So if you dont download it, then mostly all of the people you play are people who dont care enough about the game to drop a little cash for more of it. The only map pack I ever bought was the first MW2 one. I didnt really care for it, and so I got rid of it. My KD went up by .10 in the first day of me playing; Everyone I played sucked. Just thought Id share a little information. | 2012-01-16 22:54:00 Author: ATMLVE Posts: 1177 |

Ha! Nice one ATMLVE! Perhaps I should hold off in order to finish upgrading a few boosters.. A few new treasures (co-op ) appeared in the treasures menu, they don't unlock anything yet. Anyone doing legacies? Or a favourite booster combo? After upgrading most of my boosters to gold, I got bored, so I went legacy, ha. I'm trying out Cloaked, (pretty handy btw) one more Assassin medal till gold! | 2012-01-17 03:44:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |

My brother said it keeps your current skin and treasures though, so I'll buy what I want first. Does legacy also keep your cash amount or is your cash reset? Because then I might buy some expensive stuff for my villain skin. As for boosters, Regeneration 3 with either Treasure Hunter 3 or Deposit 3. | 2012-01-17 11:18:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
