Boss Rush!! (outdated version)

I will be organizing my first community project for those interested, titled "Boss Rush!!"

Description:


I'm sure you guys have played video games before where, after you beat said game, you unlock a certain "boss trial" challenge of the sort, where you beat boss after boss. (i.e.: Castlevania, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, etc.) That's the basic concept of this project. Beat the boss/enemies to progress. I am still undecided whether to have a time limit within the level or not. If it does, rest assured there will be plenty of time to beat it. I'll let you guys decide on this one.

General Info:


Forum members will submit their creations (bosses and/or enemies) and they will be placed in square rooms, one before the other. The size of each room will be the same for every boss/enemy (although, there might be one or two exceptions, depending on what the creation is like). If you've beaten the Story Levels, think of the very last boss you fight. That'll be the standard size for the rooms, probably. The room decoration will be handled by me, unless the forum user decides otherwise. If so, they must send in the room in the dimensions I specify. To make this easier, I can send a room template for them to work on.

Oh, and yes, you can submit more than one enemy/boss. However, if it starts to get too crowded, I will let you know so you may pick which creation you would like to have on the level. If no reply is given, I'll pick the one which, in my opinion, is best.

Room Progression:


Upon starting the challenge, players will have the ability to take three paths. The upper(path A), middle(path B), or lower(path C). After every few rooms (two or three), players will be able to select another path. This way, the player may be able to skip the bosses/enemies they find too difficult, or may just add replayability value to the level. However, players sticking to one same path throughout the whole play will be rewarded with special prizes.

Since the level will incorporate both enemies and bosses, the area order might go [ENEMY], [ENEMY], , [BRANCHING PATH]. Consistency will be important, although not mandatory.

Difficulty:


I'm well aware some bosses/enemies may be too difficult, so I will let the creator handle that on his/her own. If I find something may be too difficult (playtested by not only me, but other people I know), the difficulty will be adjusted. The more difficult bosses/enemies will be placed closer to the end of the level, of course. If the user things the enemy is too easy, I could happily help out and up the difficulty.

Last entry date: December 12 (Friday)


You must make and publish a level containing these two things:

A regular-sized version of your object.
A prize bubble containing your object.

Your level must be titled this: lbpcBR1
You must include your forum name in the description of the level if you want credit for your creation.
Your object must be sharable. If it is not, it will not be considered.

Other details:


Well, I think that's everything... I'm very excited for this project as it is my first, and would like to have all those interested to enter. If all goes according to plan, it should be up on the servers before Christmas day for all to enjoy. I will try my best to incorporate every creation into the level.

One of the many reasons I want to make this happen is to give the community something different, not to mention I'm seeing a lack of enemies on community levels at the moment. Who knows! We might get a Boss Rush!! 2 someday... but let's focus on this one right now. Any questions, please ask here for all to see. We can avoid repeated questions then as I may add a Q&A section later on.

The dates seem reasonable and hopefully I'll be done with my two-parter by then. I'm in for now. One thing I think you should limit is the size of the enemy such as... 20% thermo limit for bosses, 5% for normal enemies, etc. That in itself will give you a better idea of what you can and can't do and also will help creators streamline their creations.

I mean, as cool as it would be to have 4 or more bosses that are of the Azure Palace's calibur in terms of scale and complexity, there wouldn't be any space to put anything else in the stage.

I was thinking the same thing. I'll add more details to enemy/boss sizes in the upcoming days.

And yes, the enemy/boss will have to fit within the template I'll provide.
