Like Ungreth said in the 'creations' thread, i've been breaking out of my comfort zone a little too, and just having fun. the logic on these little guys got pretty intense today, but all in a days work. so far it's just a 2 to 4 player death match, with respawns for 5 minutes, and 500 points a kill. awesome custom music by my friend deboerdave. http://beta.lbp.me/v/d4h4 http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs1199.snc4/155109_1738517029709_1442141153_1879612_3275658_n. jpg http://beta.lbp.me/img/ft/84706cc5d1fdccfb44992c2816da307da4de5873.jpg -L2 for forward, left analog stick to turn -right analog stick to aim -R1 for machine gun -R2 for single shot of heavy artillery -3 way color coded arrow radar, even for a small arena can be useful -3 observable meters - one for life, one each for both guns -R2 requires recharging, but does major damage and spins your enemies around -Hold R1 too long, and you'll overheat, and lock up completely for a few seconds, but can still aim and fire R2 if it's charged up. keep track of your hold time overheat by the dimmer increasing glow of your tank Originally planned for rotating cameras, but alas, can't have my own movie cam for each player. Looks so sweet that way :/ I'd like to do a few levels of a Guerilla War-style overhead co-op shooter, but we'll see. anyway, pretty fun multiplayer to go with the other mp and tank stuff out there. | 2010-12-07 12:17:00 Author: Unknown User |

Looks very cool! I believe there is a way to have separate movie cameras per player. Maybe try: Put the direct control seat for each player on pieces of invisible holo and put a follower on the holo to have it follow the tanks around. Put separate cameras on each piece of holo. So, you can have the players following the tanks around behind the scenes with their own cameras. Another technique I played with (you may have already done this.. I haven't played it yet) is to set up multiple cameras which activate based on the different tanks in their range. So the camera appears to zoom in as the tanks are in closer proximity with each other. | 2010-12-07 13:05:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
it's local space i wanted on the cams, but i'm happy with it now, and tuned the controls to fit the stationary cams i settled on. totally revamped the controls for the tanks, sped 'em up a little, now they run like butter and it feels super-fun on multiplayer. the life bars are a little shorter, and all the timing really fits the overheat and recharge times now. with everything ironed out and balanced, it makes it possible to go on a kill streak and keep your life bar up, rather than just trading off who's about to die, and who just died based on who strikes first. each hit from the machine gun nets you 10 points, a successful missile hit spin nets 250, a kill nets 500. since the hits do damage now, it's ok to focus on 3 other players for hit scoring, and not just 1 kill at a time with kill steals being strategic, but not putting anyone out of the running score-wise. thought about making an in-level map selector for 3 or 4 different maps since they're small and the 1 map minus the tanks is probably only about 4 bars of therm. be annoying to build, but might as well try it out in create and see. the map looks alot slicker now too. | 2010-12-09 12:40:00 Author: Unknown User |
