Hey, i was trying to figure out how the heck turn clips from a video into a gif!?

The only way I know how to do it is to take individual Screen Captures of each frame, then animate the frames.

But that means i'll have to press that, then paste it onto gimp, press pause JUST as a frame has passed press it, paste, and so on.... that is going to take hours....

Edit: Because you're lazy, I just remembered BS Player Pro (http://www.bsplayer.com/) has a print screen key, works great.

While the video plays, you press (I think it's P. . .) and it takes a screen shot of the video (nothing else) and sends it to a folder, so you can just spam P if you want and find the folder later, and stuff

Yeah,i tried google.... most answers were un helpful Oh? So the first link on that results page which presents you with a form where you can upload your video, and get back an animated GIF was unhelpful? So if you don't want to convert a video to an animated GIF, then what are you asking?

I've just seen this rather heated discussion for a rather simple task... The anser is yes, you can create an animated gif from a video file. In Photoshop, the process is simple, as you can import a video file into frames (yes it does create seperate editable frames) which you can then export as an animated gif. In GIMP, its a bit trickier. You have to use GAP (GIMP Animation package) which you have to download seperately. GAP converts a lot of file types (mov, avi, mpg etc.). GAP is a GIMP Extension. Then in GIMP extensions, go to Split Video into frames > Extract video range... open the file you want to use. When everything is set, you then have a converted image. Next comes canvass size, which you can make whatever you want and build the image around it. You can test the animation by using Filters Menu>Animation>playback Also use Filters> Animation - optimise for gif Finally, File>save as ... whatever you want to call it, and add .gif at the end. Save as animation and set the animation parameters (such as looping) And you're done!!! IMHO using printscreen for a largish animation would be a complete nightmare and I don't think anyone in this forum would do it - not even Inan! Hope this helps Rhy

No talking of banning me! I actually did a few tests with the one inan showed me, it works nicely, a little slow, but i'm good with that! I'll post the results after i get on my laptop! It's hard to align each frame.... I has a shaking hand remember? I also made a pedobear one that was longer, but it got messed up and it lost like 20 frames
