Little Big Planet Central sure is a fun way to get involved with the friendly community of Little Big Planet online, and I love the Forum Pages. However there are some flaws that I have with them, it's not something that the owners need to re-program or change, but more the Forum users. Here are some things I'd like to see quelled from these forums

"You should change the Location of this Forum!"
Sometimes, a Forum Thread isn't always in the perfect spot, and it is a good idea to be moved, but other times the Thread is involved in many subjects at once, so putting them in General Pages would be relevant and at least in a spot where users will notice it easier. So if you see a Forum Thread that may need to be moved, let the admins take care of it.

"I already said this!"
Copyright is something important on Little Big Planet Central, but only because a few points in a certain Thread are simillar to one another's Thread dosen't mean it's the exact same thread. Also, it's not easy to read every single Forum Page and Thread on Little Big Planet Central, so most of the time it's just a mistake, no harm intended! <3

"Simillar/Identical Comments"
This is Frequent on the "Introduce Yourself" Forum Page on Lbpc, but it still is a great nuissance to me because almost every single Thread from a new-commer has the same Replies (and usually from the same people!) such as "Welcome to lbpc! Why not put your levels on the showcase?", and I'm not kidding you, go to the "Introcude Yourself" Forum Page and look at the Threads. The Replies are all the same, and usually they don't even make sense! One of the Replies said to "Showcase your levels or add them to your level list!" even when the Thread said that they have no levels! So that means that people keep copying and pasting their Replies, which is more seeking for xp, rather than actually replying! I wouldn't mind this as much, but I've been told by the same people doing that, that I'm only looking for xp....Hypocrites!

"We're being lectured to about how the forum should work by someone who has been here less than a month?"
Although I have not been here for less than a month (and I'm glad that you have the apropriate math skills to do so), should it really matter? Do you check the date of everyone's accounts before even listening to them? Even though they may be new, they may know more than you do! In some cases, the person needs a little bit more time on lbpc, but in other cases, people may have spent a lot of time on other lbp related sites and has a general understanding of forum pages.

Other than that, the Forums pages are friendly and most of the time, Trolling free!

If there's anything that may bother you, leave a comment and let me know! Maybe it can influence the users

Great facts stated, its totaly true, im kindof getting tired of all these "Hey! you should make some friends put a level in the level in the level showcase and make some post! welcome to lbpc! glad you made it!", its like when you call rogers and you get the automated machine everytime, its really annoying and it does seem like a xp/recognition grab, anyways great post!2010-12-04 03:28:00

I would have to agree with most of that.

which is more seeking for xp, rather than actually replying!
If this is the reason people are doing it, then the jokes on them really. Introduction threads are probably one of the last places I'd go to get XP. Occasionally there'll be someone who thanks everyone who welcomed them but for the most part I think most new users don't even know about the thanks button. And simply posting won't get them much.

It is annoying to see that people haven't even read the introduction though.

What bothers me is when people feel the need to tell someone something multiple times.
It's fine to, politely, let someone know their thread should be somewhere else but they only need to hear it once.

You get reputation points for thanked posts.
You get XP for making a post, making a thread, etc.
So what he means is, it's like spam - They're posting just to get the XP points.

I thought for every "Thanks" you get it gives you 2 rep points as well as 2xp
Either way I think it's pretty pointless posting in the Intro's to get XP.

The Introduce Yourselves area and Forum Games area give you absolutely no points when you post. So really, they do it because they care about the new comers. They may usually give off a repetitive reply because usually the person that is introducing themselves doesn't say much in the first place.2010-12-04 04:54:00

"Simillar/Identical Comments"
This is Frequent on the "Introduce Yourself" Forum Page on Lbpc,

First I just wana let people know that i'm not angry in anyway while i'm typing this..

I stop by that area a lot to welcome people (Maybe 1 or 2 each time i'm on).. there's no ulterior motive involved for me getting XP or what not. and i've noticed too that some peoples messages do look "pasted". I do admit my posts kinda get repetitive after greeting a few times.. but I think if anyone was to greet a queue of people then they'd find themselves struggling not to repeat themselves too before long.. i mean come on how many times do people start things with "Hi" followed by a "How are you?".. it's the same type of gesture except on forums it looks bad coz it's written out and stuck there making it more noticeable..

sorry if this came across and grumpy lol, but i just wanted to clean things up a bit on behalf of the more moral members of the umm.. welcoming commitee?? in case some we're feeling a lil targeted, coz honestly I kinda felt targeted

"You should change the Location of this Forum!"
"I already said this!"

In case anybody isn't clear, there are two appropriate courses of action available to you if you think somebody has posted in the wrong section, made a duplicate thread, or any other posts that ought to be corrected: you can use the report function to alert us and we'll take care of it if indeed it needs to be taken care of, or, if you prefer to keep things informal and you don't like being a "snitch" you can send the person a friendly vm/pm explaining the situation and suggesting how they can correct it. If you choose the latter option, please try to be as kind/polite as possible and be prepared for defensive reactions when they misunderstand your helpful suggestion as nagging (which they often do-- they can't read your expressions or tone of voice in text so try not to get offended if they misunderstand).

"Simillar/Identical Comments"

In this case, I disagree. Not that I recommend going around making identical comments, but how many different ways can you say "welcome?" There's bound to be some similarities. If everybody avoided repeating welcomes, then each new member would only get one or two welcome comments.

I do agree, though, that thank you's don't need to be repeated. If all you want to do is say thanks, others have already said it, and you have nothing else to add to a conversation, your best bet is to simply click the "thanks" button under the post.

I won't bother with the other stuff, but you don't get exp from the introduce forum for precisely the reasons stated. Plus a lot of the people know this, and yeah, how many ways CAN you say hi? :/

I am not amused.

So... just about using the search function?

...

Also, I don't see how this is related to copyright at all. Spam, maybe.
