Getting an object to respawn after yur gone! :D

Archive: 7 posts

K seriously, I need help with this.. I have a part where the motorcycle goes off a ramp, of fire, but it sometimes kills you, so you respawn back at the check point with no motorcycle.

So how do I get an object to respawn at a spot once youve left it?

Here's one way but it's a little flawed.

Step 1: Add a magnetic key to your motorcyle and save it.

Step 2: Create an emitter that emits the new motorcyle (with the key on it) at the starting point with infinite lifespan and make sure it emits only one.

Step 3: Put the matching magnetic key switch somewhere that the motorcyle is sure to pass by. Make the key switch activate the emitter. When the motorcyle passes the key switch, it will create a new one at the starting point.

The only problem with this is that the other motorcyles will still be wherever you crashed. Once i figure out how you would get rid of the extras i'll repost. Hope this helps.

Ok, found an alternate method. It works better than the last one.

Step 1: Don't put a key on your motorcyle, but still create an emitter that emits it at the starting point.

(Emitter Settings: Lifetime = Infinite, Max Emitted = Infinite, Max Emitted at once = 1)

Step 2: Create a sensor switch at the checkpoint. Make it activate the emitter, and make it "One Shot".

When you die and return to the checkpoint, a new motorcyle is created and the old one disappears!

Thank you very much!

Thanks! I knew there had to be a way.
