Heavy Rain Glitch

Archive: 5 posts

I have made a rain effect on one of my levels once but it was the simple way, I know that theres a glitch that real water is used to make this heavy rain effect that looks absolutley realistic and impressive. Ive only seen it on a handfull of levels but I keep on scratching my head thinking how they do that particlular effect. I cant think of any levels right now that actually have this glitch but there are some out there so I cant really help you out so you can see what I'm talking about but if you have seen it then maybe you have an idea what I'm talking about. I would also like to know how to make a wind effect that makes certain objects sway back and forth making it for a more authentic scenery. If you know any of this information I would like your help to explain or any other explanation to make these glitches.
Thank You

Not really "glitches" but still, I wouldn't reccomend the heavy rain effect, really lags up the game, to do it, you just have to have something attatched to a piston and have it go in and out of the watter really fast.

Wind effect, you can have decorations of plants and sutch in a small cardboard (or any material but Dark Matter) pput a wobble bolt in it and make it wobble lightly as if it was being blown away by the wind, remember to make the different ones move a little out of synch if in light wind, and fully synched if its a "strong" wind you want.

Hope that helps!

Just to add a little clarity you need to set the global water level to just a tiny smidgen below the level of the platform sackboy is located. When you run with sackboy (or hit the platform as mentioned above) you get the splashing effect you are looking for.2010-12-02 17:06:00
