Not Another Crane Game!

Archive: 9 posts

I've been working on a Claw Game in LBP over the last couple days. I've finally got it in working order. I'm looking for comments and suggestions, because I still plan on making improvements. So please go check it out (name in thread title). I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks.2008-11-03 20:18:00

Fun Stuff. I look forward to finding out what you think.

Thanks to everyone that has checked out my level.

Let me all ask your opinions on this.

I've been thinking whether or not to share the prizes that I've made in my Crane Game level. One idea that I thought of is if the player caught all of the prizes in the level, a key would appear to unlock a sort of "Prize Museum" level.

This level would have displays of the prizes that I've made, similar to the display that I've made at the end of current version of my crane game. There would be the prize bubbles underneath, for the ones on display, for the player to collect. Does this sound like a good idea to anyone?

Comments, feedback, and other suggestion always appreciated.

Yes because, you always want people to come back and play it, in order to get that key to get everything.

Thanks for the feedback. I've run into a bit of a problem though.

I can't think of a way to detect when all of the prizes have been won. I could use magnetic switches, but I've got 12 prizes and only 8 colors for keys. I really don't want to limit the number of prizes to 8.

I'm sure there's a way around this problem. I guess I just have to think of a solution. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Edit: NVM. I think I figured out how to get around it

Put one magnetic key on each bubble (same color) and make the switch radius huuuuge.2008-11-06 05:12:00

That was cool! One thing I would try to add as a full level experience would be paying for tries. Maybe pick up stickers that would pay for attempts. The stickers could be obtained through level challenges and activating a sticker switch would earn the player one try for each. Just a thought. It's a LOT easier said than done. 2008-11-06 05:59:00

Ok I published the Prize Museum level. I've only got one display made so far (I'm still working on them). You can get access to the museum by winning all the prizes in the crane game.

Hope you all like it so far

Update: I've been told that my Museum level doesn't seem to load. Is this a problem with my level, or it a temporary server problem?
