Another interesting puzzler to add to the mix in LBP. The Wise Owl is full of simple platforming and puzzles for the masses without being overly difficult but balanced enough to keep you interested. Story is a bit perplexing as it didn't make to much sense on why your looking for a model train, but that's your ultimate goal and only the Wise Owl knows the information. It becomes your goal to travel high up into a temple where the Wise Owl sits.

Graphically The Wise Owl was done in a mediocre fashion. While it wont blow the socks off of any competition, it wasn't entirely dull in existence either. Something that immediately was an interesting aspect of the level design was the visibility of every sound speaker, switch and key. While in the story mode of Little Big Planet you get that same visibility to a minimum. Just enough to see whats behind Media Molecules basic design but didn't drown the user of all the fine details. Speaking purely on judgment, I believe they need to be hidden. It in no way added to the immersion of the level or made any sense either. With good textures and materials used throughout the level it was simply thrown off by a bright green speaker splashed into the scenery. Characters were done nicely and fit the levels theme. Atmosphere was a little bit absent but you still had a sense of height as you climbed higher into the temple.

Sounds and Music was done quite well. Environmental sounds were present throughout the level and interactive pieces had associated sounds. Music fit the levels atmosphere and held consistent. There was nothing here that made it extraordinary but did sit higher than your average level.

Gameplay was the strongest point for The Wise Owl. Bonner123 has a good approach in gameplay mechanics and it was displayed quite well in the level. From jumping from lift to lift to fetching the next switch, it had your sackperson running all over the place. There was never a time where I had a feeling of boredom. Some portions were slightly difficult and might take several attempts to accomplish your goal but overall it was moderate difficulty.

Final Thoughts: It's rather a shame that the level lacked detail and had the unfinished look due to the visible logic. The story fell short and gave you little sense or purpose. However, it was a fun level to play through. Past the obvious, it was not a 'must play' but certainly its worth a play if you like a little more then traveling from point A to point B.

I rate The Wise Owl :star::star::star: 1/2 Stars

Second Opinion: "At the start of the level i came across a secret & got some bubbles. I liked that and it gave me high expectations for the rest of the level, but unfortunately I was sadly disappointed. The game feels pretty generic and a little boring in the beginning (minus the above mentioned secret). a small time through the level i came across a glitch where i couldn't continue onward with the level, & by that time i had just given up and quit playing" - DarrienEven
