Suggestion: Tag Shapes

I think the ability to designate tags with their own "activation zone" should be added to LBP2
it struck me the other day when i was covering a star shaped bit of cardboard with 39 seperate tags that it might be useful if Mm added a tag zone kind of thing into tag tweak menus.

Before i continue i want to say that , in my head im still trying to toss up which would be better having the tweak on a tag or having it on the tag sensor (depends which situation you are thinking of) perhaps even on both tweak menus.

Imagine this, you open the tag's tweak menu and the first option is "Activation Zone Height" and second option is "Activation Zone Width" So that you could create rectangular shapes.
I understand that maybe im not explaining very well so ill draw a picture:

I understand that for different occasions you might want this tool to be on the tag sensor not the tag but i think that out of the two it should be on the tag.

OR another idea could be that instead of choosing the height and width you get a draggable box like camera zones ..

Can't you do this by using 2 tag sensors and an and switch? Yea theres a thread on here somewhere about how to make rectangular sensor areas using two switches. Not only that but you can make pretty much any shape you want.2010-12-01 17:10:00

Yeah, as rtm said.
Use hologram material and just stick a impact switch. Easy as sausage

To make this thread more useful i suggest add player detect only to Impact sensor, so we could have the same with player sensing without need of fitring down everything around2010-12-01 17:31:00

someone in the know: does holgram touching hologram still set off a impact sensor? cos if so then someone can lock the thread

Yup it does. You actually can't stop it from detecting other hologram I don't think, which is pretty annoying IMO as a hologram hitbox can't be forced to only detect solid objects 2010-12-01 17:41:00

but you can now make it that there has to be a tag for it to be sensed by an impact sensor so this could solve that problem. Thanks 2010-12-01 17:42:00

Yeah, try tagging every single solid object in your level so that the hitbox works properly and then come back and tell me that you wouldn't prefer to have a tweak to differentiate between solid and non-solid objects 2010-12-01 18:53:00
