I'm not quite sure how to describe these, but hopefully you know what I'm talking about. They look like lamposts/scales and when you go past them, the smiley face turns to sad with a cross over. A friend of mine said that if you wore the right costume something would happen. I've searched a couple websites and couldnt find any info regarding it. Anybody have any idea what they are for? Thanks!

They mean that nobody else can join that level once you pass one of those. Dead players will be respawned, but nobody may join your game

What? I don't have LBP yet. I don't understand. If anyone could thoroughly explain I'd appreciate it.

You can select to play any level (official or fan made) either on your own or online. If you pick play online any random player can jump into that level with you. Some levels have a point that once you pass, no new players can join the level if you're playing online.
