The Advanced Vending Machine

Lol. This thing is awesome. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.ps3fanboy.com/media/2008/11/pop-instant-entertainm_43454.jpg Stuff is reporting that Sony and Universal have teamed up to create PoP "entertainment vending machines" to be distributed across the UK "in cinemas, gyms, universities and travel stations" this holiday season. In addition to selling PS3 titles, these babies will sell DVDs, Blu-ray movies, and direct music/movie downloads to your MP3, MP4 player, or an SD card. Check it out in action in a video here. Similar machines have been spotted in the US for several years now, but they seem to have been limited to mostly airports. Do you think we'll ever see one of these vending machines in a local shopping center? Watch it here (http://stuff.tv/Video/Universal-Pop-exclusive-video/Vidcasts/) | 2008-11-03 17:29:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |
Lol, saw this on Gametrailers hours ago. Pretty cool, but I wonder how the security on that thing will work ?_? | 2008-11-03 17:31:00 Author: Unknown User |

Sounds cool. Unfortunately my vote for best vending machine still goes to the beer machine on the street outside the hostel I stayed at in Tokyo. That thing was a godsend. | 2008-11-03 17:37:00 Author: Yumpy Posts: 53 |

Hmm. Interesting. I've seen one of those Apple vendors in an airport. (Which I thought rather useless if you're buying to go on a plane, because it didn't look like you could buy music from it, just the hardware.) As for the usefulness of this vendor, it all depends on its placement. In mall... Sounds about right. Considering the oftentimes-spontaneous style of shopping in a mall, it could work. *Starts thinking of some comedy routine concerning zombies, malls, and one of these.* | 2008-11-03 17:44:00 Author: Mark D. Ah, I seen this a couple of hours ago, looks interesting, but I prefer the retailers. Its a bit like comparing the cinema to a DVD at home. | 2008-11-03 18:23:00 Author: floor3013 Posts: 287 |
