Ok since some people decided to remind me of my childhood on another thread (thanks todzilla....) I decided to make a thread for people to put their favorite stuff when they were kids, so post all the cartoons you used to watch, or toys you used to play with, who knows maybe some people can remember some stuff they forgot

As for cartoons, well my whole childhood was the wicked shows they had back then (which in my opinion are 100x better than what is today on tv)

One of my favorite childhood memories is Super Mario Sunshine. My cousins used to come over every Saturday to play it and right after we finished the game they moved to Miami I'm still really close to them but I only get to see the people that lived 5 minutes away from me once or twice a year... I even have a picture of us

Ironically, Crash Bandicoot 2 was the first game I got with playstation. (It took me a while to get into Playstation, I was still into my Genesis and SNES for the longest time)

I played a demo of Pikmin at Target when I was little. But that back when they actually had game demos to play. I also played a demo of Starfox, Sonic Heroes, some Pokemon games, Zelda and the Minish Cap, err, I don't think I can remember many more...Ahh, those were the days.2010-12-05 05:46:00

Target began to have less and less playable demos, and then they rearranged the video game section. Now all they have is a PS3, an Xbox 360, and a Wii - The Wii ALWAYS has Super Mario Galaxy 2 on it, the PS3 ALWAYS has some boring sports game, and the Xbox ALWAYS has some car game I don't like, but I would want to touch an Xbox 360 anyways. But I went to Best Buy a few times, and they had some good stuff - They even had KH BBS playable on a PSP!

Well, they probably don't have good stuff anymore because the last-gen consoles are out of date - When they had PS2s and Gamecubes, that's where the good stuff was. And what's Future Shop?		2010-12-05 06:04:00

I watched Cat Dog! Hey Arnold! and all those programs on the Original Post. except kablam.

I remember when i was like 5, Watching my mum play games like Crash bandicoot 3 warped, Abe's oddysee, tombraider, Medieval, Heart of Darkness and Spyro the dragon.

And i remember Futurama being much better than the new ones.

yeah, most people mention playing the gamecube demos (which I recall was very recent, but still was some time ago ) I remember playing super nintendo demos XD I also remember that I once played starfox 64 on toys R us once, I was like O__O

Yeah I should have figured that was sarcasm what Bremnen said... but seriously, when people talk about good old times they talk about nostalgic things from the past and the time period is different for each person. What really got me angry was Bremnen's comments on "you are all too young!" and then putting emphasis on the playstation being his fourth console, which basically would mean "I am older than you and you shouldn't be talking about old times"
Now I know Bremnen was using sarcasm but I didn't really understand that, sorry Bremnen.
It wasn't my intention to attack anyone here or start a flame war, I just wanted to say that people are young only once and even if you think the stuff they experienced when they were young happened not too long ago then you can keep that to yourself. Obviously there are people older and younger than you, don't judge by it.
As far as I'm concerned, there is no definition for "good old times", which means that someone can have their first memories from the early 2000's. Why should they not be allowed to tell about those memories here just because older people think those things are far too recent?		2010-12-06 01:01:00

Well yeah okay, you are right about good old days being nostalgic memories from further back. But that is just nitpicky in my opinion, if people want to tell you about theit first memories with video games or tv shows then please let them do that. I think this is going a bit off-topic so I'll stop here. If you absolutely disagree with me then please continue in a visitor message.

EDIT: I just looked at your posts Killa and I see nothing wrong with them. Everyone is allowed to share their memories, no matter how old they feel. XD LOL ya I love spyro the dragon I still have hes games for my playstation you know the game disc I played the new spyro games which are old now and there not that bad its just differnet. I like the legend of spyro the new beginning and the legend of spyro dawn of the dragon which is the last spyro game that was out in dawn of dragon you can now fly freely anywhere in that game and spyro can now stop time and its just differnt . But I still like that classic spyro it would be cool if they do like a remake to the classic spyro but when I think about it why not nintendo doing alot of remake games anyway lol.		2010-12-06 01:51:00

Oh my god I remember Zaboomafoo, I can't recall from where though.

Anyway my best memories are of hanging out with all these people at my old babysitters house. So many kids, but sometimes I would help out. When I wasn't, I was playing the original Donkey Kong Country on the Super Nintendo. I can vividly remember one day when my mom dropped me off at like 6:00am (I thought that was incredible at my age) and I was pretending to sleep (I never knew why I did that) on the way over. We always used to pick up Dunkn Doughnuts doughnut holes, whenever I was able to eat them I felt like the king of the world! And than that one time I tried to balance on stilts, and when we found the baby bunnies that we raised, and when I first kissed a girl because we saw it in a movie and wondered what it was...WOW...So many memories. God, life was so innocent back then...

My childhood was awesome, i was infamous in my old neighborhood for being the toughest pokemon trainer.

YES!! I specifically remember THAT in my early days! In fact, I was so obsessed with it, I-... I crashed my family's computer nearly 5 times playing it. :blush:

Aaaand, if I were to ever reclaim my old copy (the Triple-Thrill Pack with EVERYTHING (oh-ho, I loved that part!)), I'd be playing it non-stop... seriously, I would. I was a PC gamer before I got hooked to console gaming, and RCT2 was my BIGGEST obsession before my PS2.

And to a point, I'm still obsessed. The other forum I spend alot of time in is called New Element, a RCT fansite (all 3). And they make AWESOME parks. Just look at these screens!:

My childhood was awesome, i was infamous in my old neighborhood for being the toughest pokemon trainer.

It always warms mah heart when I hear stories like that Josh. My childhood consisted of trying to get through the day at school without getting shot, stabbed, or beat-up. Then I would come home and try to get through the night.

THAT! That's the game that I used to play a lot in arcades. I even got at first sometime I think, then you have the right to play again for free. (but I used to run out of time )

Friday I was looking for my spare ethernet cable when I stumbled upon my family's (then) half forgotten box of VHS movies. Invaluable treasures inside. Old Disney animation moviees like the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, classics like E.T, Jurassic Park and Back To the Future Movies, Jacques Costeau documentaries, Star Wars (the good ones from the original Trilogy, before being tainted with the digital remasterization), tons of stuff. Ok since some people decided to remind me of my childhood on another thread (thanks todzilla....) you had about 10 songs on each side. you could be jammin' then have to stop and turn the tape over. good times

when we got a computer, there were no cd drives. you had 5 1/4" floppy disk and your computer had a whopping 64k of memory. I think my watch has more than that now.
you got "online" with a 14.4 kbit/s modem. I mostly played IF games (text) like the Zork series etc. Our tv had two channel dials on it and if you turned it half way between 13 and 14, put a piece of paper to hold it in place, you got HBO. Then we got cable. the channel switcher was a box wired to the tv and you put it beside your chair or whatever and it had 13 numbers, then you switched a lever to "2" and channel 1 became 14, 2 to 15 and so on and so forth. My dad bragged to someone about the HBO thing and the next day the cable company came out and put a scrambler on the cable wire outside.

Later we got a satellite dish. not like the ones today. no this one was 10 feet in diameter and you had to go out and hand crank it to pick up different satellites while someone inside (usually dad) yelled to you if it was coming in clear or not.
