The good Ol' times thread

Ok since some people decided to remind me of my childhood on another thread (thanks todzilla....) I decided to make a thread for people to put their favorite stuff when they were kids, so post all the cartoons you used to watch, or toys you used to play with, who knows maybe some people can remember some stuff they forgot As for cartoons, well my whole childhood was the wicked shows they had back then (which in my opinion are 100x better than what is today on tv) http://theseomillionaire.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/kablam.png Kablam was pretty awesome, I liked to see Prometheus and bob lol http://akirashiro.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/catdog.jpg Cat dog http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_GHp3tbQtz24/SupoiAiqj4I/AAAAAAAAAK8/mj7-fwtdJ7k/s400/rml1.jpg I recently watched it again and was like "I used to watch this when i was a kid?!" I saw a lot of stuff that I could have never comprehend as a kid XD http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/heyarnold3a.jpg This was like every Saturday morning http://img.listal.com/image/895029/600full-cow-and-chicken-photo.jpg Another creepy cartoon that I can still laugh like crazy if I watch again (lots of random non-sense stuff) http://www.codyblogging.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/hasbro_bop_it.jpg The original bopit (Friends used to bring it at school and all were around watching) I would post more but I don't remember at the moment | 2010-11-30 18:35:00 Author: Ragnarok Posts: 898 |

I played a demo of Pikmin at Target when I was little. But that back when they actually had game demos to play. I also played a demo of Starfox, Sonic Heroes, some Pokemon games, Zelda and the Minish Cap, err, I don't think I can remember many more...Ahh, those were the days. | 2010-12-05 05:46:00 Author: TheZimInvader Posts: 3149 |

that back when they actually had game demos to play. wow, really? i see game demos in Future shop all the time, (because Canada is cool like that ) well, not that I can play them because all the little kids always need to keep themselves occupied, but there is at least 3 of them in each store, one for each console. ooh! does anyone else remember Pokemon stadium? I remember going over to my neighbours house to play that all the time because we didn't have an N64... Good times... | 2010-12-05 05:52:00 Author: Merc Posts: 2135 |

I remember going over to my neighbours house to play that all the time because we didn't have an N64... Good times... Target began to have less and less playable demos, and then they rearranged the video game section. Now all they have is a PS3, an Xbox 360, and a Wii - The Wii ALWAYS has Super Mario Galaxy 2 on it, the PS3 ALWAYS has some boring sports game, and the Xbox ALWAYS has some car game I don't like, but I would want to touch an Xbox 360 anyways. But I went to Best Buy a few times, and they had some good stuff - They even had KH BBS playable on a PSP! Well, they probably don't have good stuff anymore because the last-gen consoles are out of date - When they had PS2s and Gamecubes, that's where the good stuff was. And what's Future Shop? | 2010-12-05 06:04:00 Author: TheZimInvader Posts: 3149 |

And i remember Futurama being much better than the new ones. Bremnen please, I know you are probably trolling but just... stop. I get it, you are older and obviously your good old times aren't the same as ours. Deal with it. Just because you have lived before us doesn't mean you are some kind of elite person and we aren't allowed to have any memories because you wern't a child like us when those things were popular. Sorry if this sounded angry, I just had to say something. This also goes for anyone who was abot to "brag" about living before our first memories. Thank you | 2010-12-06 00:19:00 Author: napero7 Posts: 1653 |

Is that how you took my post cause that's pretty much what I posted too. The Title of the thread is called good ol times not the early 2000's . I know Trolling when I see it and that was Definitely NOT trolling. Maybe he crossed some lines somewheres else, but not this time. Sorry Napero7 but you're wrong on this one and I'm surprised no one else has said so. | 2010-12-06 00:45:00 Author: KILLA_TODDZILLA Posts: 653 |
Yeah I should have figured that was sarcasm what Bremnen said... but seriously, when people talk about good old times they talk about nostalgic things from the past and the time period is different for each person. What really got me angry was Bremnen's comments on "you are all too young!" and then putting emphasis on the playstation being his fourth console, which basically would mean "I am older than you and you shouldn't be talking about old times" Now I know Bremnen was using sarcasm but I didn't really understand that, sorry Bremnen. It wasn't my intention to attack anyone here or start a flame war, I just wanted to say that people are young only once and even if you think the stuff they experienced when they were young happened not too long ago then you can keep that to yourself. Obviously there are people older and younger than you, don't judge by it. As far as I'm concerned, there is no definition for "good old times", which means that someone can have their first memories from the early 2000's. Why should they not be allowed to tell about those memories here just because older people think those things are far too recent? | 2010-12-06 01:01:00 Author: napero7 Posts: 1653 |
Well yeah okay, you are right about good old days being nostalgic memories from further back. But that is just nitpicky in my opinion, if people want to tell you about theit first memories with video games or tv shows then please let them do that. I think this is going a bit off-topic so I'll stop here. If you absolutely disagree with me then please continue in a visitor message. EDIT: I just looked at your posts Killa and I see nothing wrong with them. Everyone is allowed to share their memories, no matter how old they feel. I was just saying that people shouldn't judge anyone for being "too young" to have old memories. Those people that really are too young to have memories aren't on this site. | 2010-12-06 01:15:00 Author: napero7 Posts: 1653 |

Zaboomafoo (lol) http://www.shesjustsaying.com/.a/6a00e55239d30888340105361914cb970b-800wi Oh my god I remember Zaboomafoo, I can't recall from where though. Anyway my best memories are of hanging out with all these people at my old babysitters house. So many kids, but sometimes I would help out. When I wasn't, I was playing the original Donkey Kong Country on the Super Nintendo. I can vividly remember one day when my mom dropped me off at like 6:00am (I thought that was incredible at my age) and I was pretending to sleep (I never knew why I did that) on the way over. We always used to pick up Dunkn Doughnuts doughnut holes, whenever I was able to eat them I felt like the king of the world! And than that one time I tried to balance on stilts, and when we found the baby bunnies that we raised, and when I first kissed a girl because we saw it in a movie and wondered what it was...WOW...So many memories. God, life was so innocent back then... http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=27893 Anyone remember this? It's not that old... http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=27894 Or this? This thread makes me happy and sad at the same time... | 2010-12-06 05:18:00 Author: Unknown User |

In fact, I was so obsessed with it, I-... I crashed my family's computer nearly 5 times playing it. Aaaand, if I were to ever reclaim my old copy (the Triple-Thrill Pack with EVERYTHING (oh-ho, I loved that part!)), I'd be playing it non-stop... seriously, I would. I was a PC gamer before I got hooked to console gaming, and RCT2 was my BIGGEST obsession before my PS2. And to a point, I'm still obsessed. The other forum I spend alot of time in is called New Element, a RCT fansite (all 3). And they make AWESOME parks. Just look at these screens!: http://i461.photobucket.com/albums/qq340/Gutterflower08/apature.jpg http://www.nedesigns.com/uploads/nemgmt/parks/1536/screen773.png http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/7418/ashot6.jpg This is basically LittleBIGPlanet: Theme Park Edition. :star: | 2010-12-07 05:10:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
Indeed. At the moment, I have RCT3 with Soaked and Wild installed on my computer, but I barely play it. | 2010-12-07 08:32:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
My childhood was awesome, i was infamous in my old neighborhood for being the toughest pokemon trainer. I had just figured out how to Duplicate pokemon on gold and silver, i would have kids knocking on my door at 8am asking to either trade, or battle... Ahhh the good time i had! It always warms mah heart when I hear stories like that Josh. My childhood consisted of trying to get through the day at school without getting shot, stabbed, or beat-up. Then I would come home and try to get through the night. GOOD TIMES | 2010-12-07 11:33:00 Author: KILLA_TODDZILLA Posts: 653 |

That and Oddworld: Abe's exoddus. I had games before that, but I... can't remember them ;_; PS1 was my second console, if you could count the 1st gaming machine I had as a console. I got a PS2 a month later, after buying a PS1 second hand on eBay for ?6.... A PS2 slim, as well. I was late to the party, it seems. | 2010-12-08 20:13:00 Author: Keanster96 Posts: 1436 |

THAT! That's the game that I used to play a lot in arcades. I even got at first sometime I think, then you have the right to play again for free. (but I used to run out of time ) I remember that it had a version with crazy stuff, like a track on mars and another one underwater... Or maybe it's other game... | 2010-12-09 00:01:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |

Anyone remembers using these suckers? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/aa/VHSTapeComparisons-Top.jpg Friday I was looking for my spare ethernet cable when I stumbled upon my family's (then) half forgotten box of VHS movies. Invaluable treasures inside. Old Disney animation moviees like the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, classics like E.T, Jurassic Park and Back To the Future Movies, Jacques Costeau documentaries, Star Wars (the good ones from the original Trilogy, before being tainted with the digital remasterization), tons of stuff. What grabbed my attention was the first Toy Story though. I remember it being the first movie I watched in a movie theatre, when I was 4. | 2011-07-25 21:59:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |

Ok since some people decided to remind me of my childhood on another thread (thanks todzilla....) I decided to make a thread for people to put their favorite stuff when they were kids, so post all the cartoons you used to watch, or toys you used to play with, who knows maybe some people can remember some stuff they forgot As for cartoons, well my whole childhood was the wicked shows they had back then (which in my opinion are 100x better than what is today on tv) http://theseomillionaire.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/kablam.png Kablam was pretty awesome, I liked to see Prometheus and bob lol http://akirashiro.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/catdog.jpg Cat dog http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_GHp3tbQtz24/SupoiAiqj4I/AAAAAAAAAK8/mj7-fwtdJ7k/s400/rml1.jpg I recently watched it again and was like "I used to watch this when i was a kid?!" I saw a lot of stuff that I could have never comprehend as a kid XD http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/heyarnold3a.jpg This was like every Saturday morning http://img.listal.com/image/895029/600full-cow-and-chicken-photo.jpg Another creepy cartoon that I can still laugh like crazy if I watch again (lots of random non-sense stuff) http://www.codyblogging.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/hasbro_bop_it.jpg The original bopit (Friends used to bring it at school and all were around watching) I would post more but I don't remember at the moment You're reminding me of my childhood. I lived off cartoons and then nickelodeon started expanding and moving all the shows I watched to nick Junior. YARGH! | 2011-07-27 08:41:00 Author: Tecnoguy1 Posts: 206 |

wow, I'm probably going to date myself but here goes. favorite tv show growing up --The Dukes of Hazzard http://www.dukesonline.com/images/dukes-31years-ago.jpg my favorite toy was the Evel Knievel set and stretch armstrong http://www.comicbookmovie.com/images/users/uploads/9132/kenner_stretch_armstrong.jpg 1st game system that we talked my mom into getting was the atari 2600 http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0/26/10066-atari2600_large.jpg used to listen to music on one of these http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/sony_walkman_tps-l2.jpg they played these things http://www.tapedeck.org/400/universum_super_low_noise_c90_071201-thumb.jpg you had about 10 songs on each side. you could be jammin' then have to stop and turn the tape over. good times when we got a computer, there were no cd drives. you had 5 1/4" floppy disk and your computer had a whopping 64k of memory. I think my watch has more than that now. you got "online" with a 14.4 kbit/s modem. I mostly played IF games (text) like the Zork series etc. Our tv had two channel dials on it and if you turned it half way between 13 and 14, put a piece of paper to hold it in place, you got HBO. Then we got cable. the channel switcher was a box wired to the tv and you put it beside your chair or whatever and it had 13 numbers, then you switched a lever to "2" and channel 1 became 14, 2 to 15 and so on and so forth. My dad bragged to someone about the HBO thing and the next day the cable company came out and put a scrambler on the cable wire outside. Later we got a satellite dish. not like the ones today. no this one was 10 feet in diameter and you had to go out and hand crank it to pick up different satellites while someone inside (usually dad) yelled to you if it was coming in clear or not. Anyway, I could go on all day, so I'll stop blabbing now. | 2011-07-27 18:55:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
