Sciencetastic! (LBP1 Level) - Testers Needed

This is a WIP LittleBIGPlanet 1 level, it was completely constructed in LBP1, and it has a published LBP2 port that contains minor changes. The level is going fine, I have motivation and no major problems have arisen. But the level lacks an "awe" factor, I'm not going to let this level just pass as acceptable and decent, I want it to be amazing, but obviously, getting there will be no easy task.

Unlike my other levels, I think I actually want to set up beta testing with this one, I need your help. So go to my level Lock Rot - Do Not Play and enter the code 245782 to get a key to the level.

Story-
You must help a master scientist named Lewis construct an unknown invention.

Gameplay-
Is lacking, all I have is bots, simple jumps, and a conveyor spike dodging frenzy. I want it to be a challenge, but nothing that will cause players to down rate the level in frustration.

Visuals-
Is fine for now, I have plans to add random moving parts such as robotic arms and machines to add a more lively look to the boring old sterile lab.

Sound-
It's difficult to work out a good ambience for a lab environment, any secret tricks and tips for sounds would be great. All I currently have is subtle wind sounds and the Shadow of the Colossus windmill sound, which sounds too ancient to be in a lab.



Also, if you'd like, submit names for the level, as Sciencetastic! just doesn't cut it.

Wha? You can help...perhaps I should clarify the thread a bit more. This is a LBP1 level, and I shall be setting up a lock room for testing. Thank you for your suggestions.

OH! Well in that case, I would love to test it for you if you are in need of an accident prone beta tester I might be able to give you some more names that might work for your level too, if you are still thinking of maybe changing it. Hit me up dude! I want to see what has oozed out of your cranium and into this game!

EDIT: As far as sounds go, for me I like to have multiple ones going at once to create a "depth" to the atmoshpere, for instance having a up and down piston make a clang noise whenever it hits something, for a conveyor the servor sound effect works great, especially if you have it varying via a speed switch. And a cool thing about sound effects is they can be given a echo sound depending on how close they are to they player (only if activated by a switch mind you ) The mechanical sound effects sound like they would prove most useful to you dude. Finished playing this and the level looks great dude! Almost just like how lbp2 is like I tried to break it constantly throughout and didn't find any really except for one place, at the beginning where you have the egg carton, you can fall and then land on it and run to the right, you still fall to an electric death, but it's still something to look at Great level so far and hope to see more in time, unless this is planned for a lbp2 release2010-12-06 05:16:00

Well, I actually didn't find anything wrong with this level. It's very well designed and the platforming is fun and neat. I like the atmosphere the whole level gives off. It's like a laboratory and a factory all in one.

I got to the part where the conveyor belt is and there the level stopped for me, so I guess that's as far as you've gotten? Otherwise, keep up the good work! I really like this level.

If you guys could rate this level from 1-10, with 1 being an average Cool Pages level, and 10 being anposttellers Post-Apocalyptic (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=15755-Post-apocalyptic-**SPOTLIGHTED*) or another amazing level that you love, then what you would you rate it? If possible, please tell me what parts of the level are lacking, such as sound, graphics, gameplay, etc. Be honest...

I would love to test a level for you dude, I just have to wait for a few days or so for my PS3 to arrive. It's kind of what I'm best at.I give feedback in the form of pictures and text, not just text, and I seem to be able to find any way out of the constraints that are weak so I can be a great level breaker.2010-12-07 17:17:00

Nothing will stop people down-rating your level. No level is perfect, because nothing is perfect. Even Nothing isn't perfect!
