I won't ever get a spotlight especially if people are biased towards creates such as poms and fenderjt | 2010-11-29 19:26:00 Author: OriginalCreator Posts: 217 |
Great list - must get around to playing those! Thanks for working so hard ON A HOLIDAY WEEKEND for some of you and getting the spotlight out. It's much appreciated since I've been buried in the beta and haven't seen a lot of the new lbp1 levels. I won't ever get a spotlight especially if people are biased towards creates such as poms and fenderjt The only thing they are baised towards is quality. End of discussion. | 2010-11-29 19:30:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

How many people are on the spotlight team? I noticed 4 this week but saw another name last week. | 2010-11-29 20:13:00 Author: bmoney2310 Posts: 187 |
To echo Morgana somewhat, I've not been able to keep up with LBP1 levels recently so this is a godsend. Congratulations to the creators in the Spotlight - those levels sound like just the reason for me to dive back into LBP. Thank you so much to the Spotlight team for putting this together. You guys do a great job! | 2010-11-29 20:30:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |

A magnificent congratulations creators! Way to keep creating even with the beta out. You guys--all of you--are awesome! How many people are on the spotlight team? I noticed 4 this week but saw another name last week. It varies hugely, but officially we have ten. A few have been away for quite some time, and others are taking a week or two off (which happens every time due to... *gasp*... real life ). This week the US side of things had Thanksgiving, and I barely got to the Spotlight myself! So... generally 4-5 work on a spotlight each time. In-depth enough? | 2010-11-29 22:26:00 Author: Ryhas Posts: 179 |

Thanks for the spotlight and congratulations to everyone else who got in. Whenever a new spotlight goes up it always makes me think about how great a community lbpc is. The time and effort you guys put into these spotlights is amazing and it really shows a strong dedication to the lbpc community. Keep up the good work. Although, I do believe my previous level is of a superior quality in comparison to my most recently spotlighted one, but that's just my opinion. | 2010-11-29 22:36:00 Author: zynax555 Posts: 170 |

My PSP level The Cat Tyrant didn't get spotlighted?? I HATE THIS SITE!! D:< Now before you start saying I'm conceited, consider this, all of the PSP levels spotlighted are by big-name creators...and uhh...who are the spotlight crew for PSP? BIG-NAME CREATORS!! It's completely biased and unfair. My level was much funner than seekingtruth's, but no, you spotlight their's because it's by a popular creator. How do you think that makes me feel? Just because my levels don't get appreciated, I still spend a month working my butt off to make my BEST LBP level, PS3 or PSP, and it gets NO CREDIT in this, simply because it was competing against popular creators' levels. And I didn't even get spotlight nod. Can't you guys give us more unknown creators a chance?! (talking to the ALREADY very popular creators) You are already very popular!! Well, my point, it's very unfair that just because my levels aren't well known, you guys bias towards the more popular creator's levels, and it's COMPLETELY unethical, unfair, and prejudice. Just try to tell me what I did wrong, the only explanation could be that you didn't play it, or the truth, that you guys only care about the more popular creators' levels. Thanks a lot LBPC, you ruined my day. D:< **** YOU AND ALL OF LBPC!! D:< | 2010-11-29 23:57:00 Author: sackbot14 Posts: 59 |

Thanks a lot LBPC, you ruined my day. D:< **** YOU AND ALL OF LBPC!! D:< I would like to come to the defense of my fellow spotlighters, and SeekingTruth. Sackbot, I can understand your frustration with not getting spotlighted. Not every level I have ever made has made it up here. The process of a level getting spotlighted is completely unbiased. We (the spotlight team), play every level that comes through this site. They all get played. Including yours. It is not an easy job. There are lots of levels, and lots of time invested in playing them. I hope you understand that not everything will be spotlighted. The reason the popular creators are popular, and they get their levels spotlighted, is because they deserve to be. I am not saying your level is bad. It is good. I enjoyed it. And I appreciate the fact that you spent so much time into making it. But, for you to come in this thread and to say the things you did, and saying that your level is more fun than another is not right. It's not right, and it makes you look like childish. To get respect from your peers is something you must earn. Saying the things you said will get you nothing. Except a reputation of a sore loser. | 2010-11-30 01:15:00 Author: VelcroJonze Posts: 1305 |

I wish, poms isn't that good of a creator but because he's poms he gets spotlighted if he published my level he would get spotlighted over 50,000 plays and over 10,000 hearts and over 10 people copies on THE BUNKER ALONE...yep....poms isn't that good of a creator :/ (hoping Mods don't ban me for that sarcasm...felt called for) anyways I can read off that names up there that I've never heard of before and I've been with LBP since day one and LBPC for like 2 years My PSP level The Cat Tyrant didn't get spotlighted?? I HATE THIS SITE!! D:< Now before you start saying I'm conceited, consider this, all of the PSP levels spotlighted are by big-name creators...and uhh...who are the spotlight crew for PSP? Just try to tell me what I did wrong, the only explanation could be that you didn't play it, or the truth, that you guys only care about the more popular creators' levels. Thanks a lot LBPC, you ruined my day. D:< **** YOU AND ALL OF LBPC!! D:< you're being conceited, and biased yourself against well reviewed creators...they aren't "famous"...if they are how come when I say their names to friends at work they ask who those guys are? and why are there no movies/tv/music videos in FOX/CNN/CBS/NBC? i think people use "famous" very loosely around here. anyways who are you to say that your level is much "funner" then others? the spotlight crew were specially selected by LBPC to be the most qualified to select the BEST levels out there to spotlight. your level may be good but in their specifications it wasn't one of the best and you just have to take that and use it as motivation to improve on. popular creators are constantly spotlighted because they DESERVE the spotlight. they make levels that use many of the tools Mm has created and use them in various ways to make their levels visually appealing, challenging, and fun. they don't get a "spotlight free" card just for having their name on some blog or on Mm's page. as for unknown creators? I can go back to a few spotlights, EVEN THIS ONE and see some creators and usernames I've never SEEN before in my time here in LBPC/LBP and that's a LOOOOOOOOOONG time. also no offense but maybe use a dictionary before using big words like "unethical" since that doesn't seem to fit with what you've said... as for being prejudice you're the one being prejudice...prejudice means you're basically hating on something without knowing about it...which is what you're doing about the spotlight and it's members. having known them you would change your opinions about them because you understand them. but to me it seems all you care about is being spotlighted and nothing else :/ . in the end, what you did wrong was barge in here and started ranting at LBPC and cursing at us without knowing us because all you wanted was a spotlight....so in short...for being prejudice anyways a shame you had to go down this road and curse out an entire site just because you didn't have any personal gain out of it...hopefully you'll see this as a learning experience and grow from it. because as of right now your attitude seems to show me that you don't deserve a spotlight, much less a place in this great site and community /rant and sorry if this clutters the thread or causes trouble to go back on topic i will say this: I'm happy to see the first 3 levels being steampunk/-like...love that genre-ish type style | 2010-11-30 05:57:00 Author: Shadowcrazy Posts: 3365 |

Thanks so much to the Spotlight team for their hard work. I’ve played all the PS3 Spotlighted levels, and I’m so proud my level is in that awesome list. Congrats to all the creators in there. I wasn’t going to reply the few complainers about the Spotlight, but I’d like to say a few words to “Original Creator”, because I also remember your in game feedback: “Overrated, like you”. Long time ago, when I still wasn’t a famous creator, many other creators were getting thousands of plays everyday, while my two levels had barely a few hundreds of plays. I felt kind of frustrated, but I wasn’t thinking of how overrated those famous levels were. I thought that a Dinosaur level, a costumes level with Spiderman in its batch, and some other good ideas were the reason those levels were there. One thing I’m sure of, and is that in LittleBigPlanet, such as in real life, nobody gets anything for free. There are NO overrated creators here. If someone makes something and gets a ton of plays, it’s because this fellow (creator or not) had a successful idea. In LBP anyone can say “X” is better than “Y”, but all this stuff is just subjective. There are nearly 4 million levels out there, and making a well made level, is not enough to capture the attention. I always try to introduce something new in my levels, and if it’s not new or someone else’s idea, I try to improve this idea and make it so much better that it seems new (which is different that just copy an idea). Well, I don’t want to extend this post eternally, but dude, just let me tell you, being famous doesn’t make things easier for me, because I get a lot of free strict criticism, haters, "ok-poms-blow-my-mind-or-you're-crap"… etc. And finally, I could give you some advice about play rhythm, frustrating contraptions, multiplayer compatibility, unexpected endings, illumination, “wow factors”, overdecorating… but you maybe don’t want to hear it coming from such an “overrated” creator. Good luck. | 2010-11-30 09:51:00 Author: poms Posts: 383 |
Congratulations especially to Sabre, sorry again. I do have something to say to the disgruntled ones... This sort of thing is where the men get separated from the boys " sorry ladies, you know what I mean". If you look up any history on anybody famous, you'll see success never came easy for them. The reason why people do get famous is because they never gave up when it didn't work out for them and instead of using that angry energy to rage against others ,they put it back into their work. Hopefully you're still reading this thread OC because I liked your levels and I do believe they could be spotlighted. | 2010-11-30 11:46:00 Author: KILLA_TODDZILLA Posts: 653 |
Many thanks for your hard work. The levels in the spotlight are mostly great and it is a lot of fun to play those gems. | 2010-11-30 14:45:00 Author: Unknown User |
Big round of applause and congradulations to eveyone who made it to the spotlight this time around. I see it got a bigger set of levels this time around and that's a good sign! Glad "Trouble In The Canyons" made the spotlight, that was a really fun level to play. Looking forward to the next creator and level spotlight and mucho big thanks to the spotlight team, we all owe you a big 'ole piece of cookie! | 2010-11-30 15:15:00 Author: damaz10 Posts: 771 |
My level being picked for this Spotlight and being showcased next to these awesome levels by awesome creators... It completely made my day! Onwards, to the next creation! | 2010-11-30 15:28:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |
Well done to all the levels in the spotlight! I'll try to play them if I could just get away from GT5 for a few minutes! And as for this little bit of controversy I see going on, don't be too disheartened if your level doesn't make it into the spotlight. That doesn't mean it's a bad level! And as for the choosing of levels being bias, i'd have to disagree with that. Yes, if a big name creator publishes a level, it is more likely to get spotlighted than not. But remember, these guys are big name for a reason; the levels rock! But, i've experienced the opposite of what 'sackbot14' and 'Originalcreator' have said. My level 'Funktion Junktion"= 40,000 plays - 5 stars - no spotlight. My level 'Mechanical Engineering' 2000 plays - 4 Stars - Spotlighted. I trust that the spotlight team do a good job, long may they reign! | 2010-11-30 17:38:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
New spotlight? Good timing, too! I'll need some sort of distraction in between studying for finals! Anyway, just wanted to wish the spotlight crew a giant thank you for continuing to bring all these great levels to my attention and to the creators for all their hard work! | 2010-11-30 23:24:00 Author: koneko Posts: 95 |
Yes, if a big name creator publishes a level, it is more likely to get spotlighted than not. But remember, these guys are big name for a reason; the levels rock! That sentence reads more accurately if you replace 'Big name creator' with 'Good creator'. | 2010-11-30 23:57:00 Author: Asbestos101 Posts: 1114 |
That sentence reads more accurately if you replace 'Big name creator' with 'Good creator'. I guess so. But I was referring to this post: Now before you start saying I'm conceited, consider this, all of the PSP levels spotlighted are by big-name creators...and uhh...who are the spotlight crew for PSP? BIG-NAME CREATORS!! | 2010-12-01 00:35:00 Author: Mr_T-Shirt Posts: 1477 |
I know, but just sezzin'. We're all careening off topic me hearties, let us get back to celebrating the achievements of our star creators of the last two weeks | 2010-12-01 00:43:00 Author: Asbestos101 Posts: 1114 |
I am completely new to this community and I got a chance. Praise can be a very motivating and heartwarming thing, but don't make it your single goal or -- like money or power -- you will never feel you are getting enough of it. Create and share not for fame and glory, but because you feel passionate about it. Ask yourself: not getting the recognition you were hoping for, does it mean your month of work was wasted? I hope your answer is "no". | 2010-12-01 12:58:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |

Hello again. Came back...and this is exactly what I expected. A bunch of you guys would start to make big posts to rebud my arguement and look like a hero to others. However, you all still fail to see my point. I wouldn't expect any more from any of you to go more in-depth into my post and notice the meaning of it. You all seemed that I was mad that I didn't get spotlighted, but that's not it. Sorry for putting that earlier message on the thread, but I'm still sad that none of you can take another look at my post to find out what I really meant. You won't be hearing from me anymore. Goodbye LBPC, take care. -sackbot14 | 2010-12-03 01:06:00 Author: sackbot14 Posts: 59 |

No, but yet he got 2 (not one but two!) spotlights despite being his first levels published on LBPC. Sackbot, both me and Antikris only have one level on LBP, (I'm pretty sure Kris only has one...) and we are by no means famous names on this site. I joined October, and Kris joined in November. The showcase isn't partial to famous creators, only good ones. And if one of those good creators happens to get famous, good for them. That's just my 2 cence anyway. | 2010-12-03 04:26:00 Author: booXely Posts: 654 |
Yeah, If Trees Could Speak was my first level, and it was spotlighted. It's not about fame, it's about talent. | 2010-12-03 12:57:00 Author: Jaslow Posts: 775 |
Yep... my first level was Spotlighted too! and nobody knew me! How can you give for granted you deserve to be Spotlighted and others not? IF YOU GET SPOTLIGHTED: GIVE THAKS. IF YOU DON'T GET SPOTLIGHTED: CONGRATS TO THE SPOTLIGHTED CREATORS. Anything else than this, is a lack of respect to the Spotlight team and the spotlighted creators.
