Funny Glitch

A glitch where some material passess through the ground , and then flings itself up real quick and smashes sackboy against the roof.

How to recreate it:
1. Go to create and into pause mode
2. get a block of sponge (works with any material i think) and place it above ground level, then move it down to touch the ground, basically just make sure its not glued down to the floor
3. Get a block of metal (doesnt have to be metal this is just to be clear) and place it next to the sponge with a small gap, make sure its not glued down either
4. get string and attach it between the sponge and metal
5. still in pause mode grab the little brown connector thingy from where the string attaches to the sponge.
6. now you can drag the material downwards into the floor of the level, let go and close popit.
7. stand on the sponge and press un-pause, and you should be flung at top speed into the roof of the level

Sounds like the same sort of forces that make the gravity glitch on LBP1 possible. Have you tried this in LBP1?2010-11-29 17:28:00

Hmm, interesting (: do you mean said material comes back up and squashes him into the ceiling, or do you mean sackboy is propelled so fast into the ceiling he clips through and dies?2010-11-29 17:30:00

no sackboy just gets flung uupwards faster than ive ever seen, but so far he hasnt died on me, and the actual material pops back up out ofthe ground, causing the propulsion2010-11-29 17:33:00

See https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=16733-Gravity-Manipulation for more info. The theory there is that the two rods excert forces onto the floor that are transfered to the sackperson when he jumps. Your string might be doing the same, or it might be something completely different.

In any case, it would be interesting to see if this works in LBP1, too.

Oh that glitch i know it well

i think this is something different though, something to do with them fixing that bug that allowed you to pass object through the ground when rotating on an angle snap. Someone in the beta forums said something about they introduced a kind of block-off to stop things entering the floor, but it seems instead to just pop stuff back out quickly if something does go past the block
