How much do you think the CE sackboy will go for?
Archive: 20 posts
Hey guys, Obviously you know that once the CE's are shipped out on the 18th, and a few others are sold, the stuff will be worth some bucks. Un-opened, (of course it'll come in a bag! Its a rare sackboy!) how much do you guys think it'll be worth on ebay? My guess: around $80 (P.S. Dont say "oh your so stupid no one has it yet so we cant determine. Oh yes we can...) | 2010-11-26 02:26:00 Author: Astronaut Posts: 162 |

Depending on the DLC and bookcase in the CE... $5 -__- Can anybody answer this question seriously? | 2010-11-26 02:40:00 Author: Astronaut Posts: 162 |
-__- Can anybody answer this question seriously? I was being serious. The DLC they give you is probably $20 and the Book case is probably $5 So I'm guessing it's $5 | 2010-11-26 02:54:00 Author: Spazz Posts: 484 |
-__- Can anybody answer this question seriously? I don't see how $5 isn't a serious answer. I mean, the CE is $80 and the full game is $60, that leaves $20 for the DLC, book ends, and the plushy. You probably wouldn't get a lot for it, and there are other sackboy plushies to get without the CE. | 2010-11-26 02:54:00 Author: Kog Posts: 2358 |
Well, the one they sell now is $20, so around that. But probably less, cos its second hand and wont have such fancy packaging. | 2010-11-26 03:01:00 Author: AA_BATTERY Posts: 1117 |

Good point, but to be honest the only plushies I've ever seen have been ugly and look nothing like sackboy... at least the store bought ones I've seen. I wonder it these might fetch more because they really nailed the look of sackboy with them? I don't know, maybe I'm wrong and there are actually decent plushies out there that look good... but I haven't seen them. Still, it's tough to say how much these might sell for on Ebay. It really depends on how much someone's willing to pay, so I'd sart ridiculously high and bring it down each week if you're not getting any bids. If you wan't I'll sell you mine. $150.00 and it's yours! Of course, that's %150.00 colourful Canadian dollars so if your in the UK it's like half the price for you. | 2010-11-26 03:22:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |

I'm saying, after a little while, the sackboy plushie could be worth a lot of money. -____-* Also, Rustbukkit is right. They really did nail the sackboy. I think it even looks a bit (if not really close) better then the UK sackboy. Also notice that this is sort of our "rare sackboy" like the UK got theirs in that giveaway thing. Once these CE's are shipped out there will be none left. | 2010-11-26 12:41:00 Author: Astronaut Posts: 162 |
http://images.play.com/covers/12123376x.jpg That's the UK 32cm sackboy, costing ?10. If people in the US are gonna buy the CE Sackboys for $80 because they look slightly better, then I'm absolutely gonna start buying up Play's entire stock of these and ship them out to the Americans for $40 each | 2010-11-26 13:34:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |

I saw a bunch of the Sackboy's at GameStop the other day. They were selling for $9.99. So you might get $5 for the one with the CE. -_- EDIT: IMO, the bookends will be worth more. You can't buy any version of those on the market outside of this game. | 2010-11-26 18:06:00 Author: maddoggnick96 Posts: 272 |

I see no difference in the released pics... Also, your guess of $80 is ridiculous. Nobody will pay $80 for something that came with a pack which came with more is a bit better. | 2010-11-26 21:16:00 Author: AA_BATTERY Posts: 1117 |
For the millionth time... this is a LIMITED EDITION sackboy. Meaning its DIFFERENT. Read the other posts... -______- Limited edition doesnt always mean ultrasuperdeluxe price. Stop being a jerk for a sec and understand that your plan to get rich from selling one is a delusion, you're overpricing it too much, people may be desperate when buying limited edition things, but not stupid, they are well aware of the produc they're about to buy, and if they're gonna be able to get that product way cheaper elsewere, they will, ignoreing the peoeple that keep overpricing it, like yourself. Is that a "serious" enough answer? | 2010-11-26 21:30:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

Okay - keeping it cool here, everybody.... no need to get derogatory, friends :kz: (that's a friendly warning) I think how much you could get depends on a few factors: 1. Your potential market. Are there enough LBP fans that won't be getting the CE (usually because of price) that would be willing to part with the big bucks to buy something they didn't originally have the money for? 2. Just how different is it? Limited edition doesn't necessarily mean unique. It just means limited, and making someting "limited edition" is usually a marketing ploy aimed at making people panic buy or pay excessive prices. 3. Timing. If you waited quite a while - until after the CEs were no longer available, and assuming you did find the CE sackboy to be quite different to previous versions - you may get some people buying from regret and maybe some who are newcomers to the game and missed out earlier - you could get a reasonable price, but I doubt you'd ever hit $80, unless of course you keep the sackboy packaged up for 10-20 years and then it becomes "nostalgic". As someone who buys (and sells) a lot on ebay, I'd advise you to check what others are asking, as there will be others who have the same idea. If they're all asking $5 and you want $80, you're not going to sell it. Plus I'm always a bit dubious of sellers who keep dropping their price when their item doesn't sell. It means they either didn't do their homework or they knew at the outset they were ripping people off. But good luck with whatever you decide to do. Personally, I'm just going to keep mine and enjoy it. | 2010-11-26 22:36:00 Author: BabyDoll1970 Posts: 1567 |

Is that a "serious" enough answer? I'm being a jerk? Look at your post. Also, I'm not trying to get rich. I'm just wondering. God, can anyone actually give a good answer? Yes, I know $80 is outragous, but at least have a little simpathy, and put some thought into things. | 2010-11-26 22:51:00 Author: Astronaut Posts: 162 |

As I said I agree that $80 is to much... so lets drop that I wasnt planning on selling the thing, I just wanted to ask how much it would go for- by though. People who said $5 didnt give a good answer. I was asking for realistic prices. Since people have to be so wise, I think you should delete this thread. I'm sick of people just posting to gain posts. Please delete this topic. Obviously no one here can give me a real answer | 2010-11-26 22:58:00 Author: Astronaut Posts: 162 |
God, can anyone actually give a good answer? People gave you good answers... In you topic you said "How much do you think the CE sackboy will go for?" People gave you what they think, and you just threw it out And like BabyDoll1970 said, lets keep in friendly | 2010-11-26 23:04:00 Author: Spazz Posts: 484 |
Okay, if that's what you want. Honestly, I don't think anyone could give you any better an answer than what you've come up with already - unless someone here works in Mm's marketing department - as nobody really knows. That's the bottom line. I think $5 was as good an answer as any, since it probably costs Mm 30 cents per sackboy to have them made in Taiwan or China. I honestly don't think anyone was out to give you stupid answers I'll lock this now, as requested. If anyone has any further information that might be helpful for AstroSack, maybe a VM or PM?
