I'm personally a big fan myself, but it's only worth playing these days when there is a free weekend, otherwise it's pretty much dead

I know right, I have to play with bots all the time, it gets annoying. On the other hand, L4D2 I find is always really populated, so I spend most of my time on that, more specifically the Lethal-Injection Steam group server.
