BETA WARNING! New update problem.

Archive: 23 posts

WARNING!! When exiting a level during create mode you are NOT prompted to save before exiting now!! How this was missed is beyond me?

You must remember to save on your own now or lose everything you just worked on in your level. Just a friendly heads up to save you the aggravation.

Ooh, that doesn't sound good. I never press the save button, I practically rely on that prompt. Although I'm not in the BETA, but still, thanks for the heads up.2010-11-24 20:30:00

That will probably be resolved before it goes public right? I mean you would think it would be...I hope it is.2010-11-25 01:52:00

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that one will get fixed. It's just annoying in the meantime. Without that prompt in place, there will be many occasions where people forget and lose hours of work. 2010-11-25 02:10:00

2 HOURS! 2 hours of work to get that stupid jump animation logic and 3d animation to work. Wasted! Why couldn't I have seen this post sooner? I don't even want to go in and build it again...guess I'll work on something else for the time being.

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!

@Gilgamesh: Yeah. No clue if rewinding after going back to create will help though.2010-11-25 06:06:00

For some reason, this is the only time it's prompting me actually. Didn't notice that before. I just assumed it was missing across the board. This new version is buggy as heck!

To anyone reading this two hours too late or otherwise.... sorry for your loss. I tried.

I lost a lot of hard work on a movie cos of this thanks for sharing the bad news Rust, if only id read the thread sooner
And also im pretty sure changing to play mode DOES prompt you to save, so maybe for peeps in the beta it would be a good idea to play your levels quickly before leaving to pod

Just do what I do... develop an OCD-like compulsion to save every two minutes.2010-11-25 18:50:00

Hm, my copy of the beta always prompts me before exiting, this is after the update and doesn't make a difference being online or not! Unusual.

Anyone else noticed that if you have a Bravia-sync TV that you can use the remote with the TV to control another Sackboy, although only his facial expressions and to make him jump?

EDIT: Now i've lost my save prompt

I imagine they've got a lot going on, and it's possible that just about everybody on staff is in the habit of always trying their creations out in play mode before exiting, so they always switch to play mode (which does prompt you to save). It's exactly the reason we have a beta: so we can find and report these things.

Yeah, I noticed this the other day. Very annoying if you didn't know about this.

But really why would they even take this feature out of the Beta in the first place, after all too many people (Including me) will always forget to save it and just Return to Pod. Seems strange... But, I guess I'll simply have to get used to it for the time being.

Because the people at Mm thought it'd be hilarious to see creators loose hours of work.

I'm sure it wasn't by accident or anything of the sort, right?

Whatever it is, it definitely won't be in the final game, otherwise that would be dumb .

And Silver I'm pretty sure Mm didn't mean to put this in the game on purpose. I don't think Mm is that harsh....

Hey, i got a problem after the patch. My magic mouths got the subtitles options disable. Looks fade. The old mouths (previously set in the level) show the subtitles. But after the patch the new one looks just like the LBP1 magic mouths!!!! Or im doing something wrong??? I dont think so....2010-11-30 17:34:00

its not a problem, Mm for some reason decided to make subtitles only activatable in sequencers, so if you put a magic mouth in a sequencer it should be allowing you to use subs 2010-11-30 18:06:00
