Questions and Problems I'm Having...Please help

Archive: 7 posts

Hey LBP Community,

Lately I've been getting myself back into the swing of things with LBP, i took a break hoping that in that time my levels would accumulate plays, hearts, etc. Well that hasn't happened, there is a short burst of people, like the max i got for my more recent one (Aquaduct Avalanche) got 15 plays, i noticed races tend to get more popular this didn't pick up like I'd hoped. So i checked out the online community, and i was appalled and disgusted, 3(+) million levels... my 'guesstimates' are that 2.9 million of them are scrap and junk because when i tried the "lucky dip" feature 19 of 20 levels were just that garbage, now I'm sorry I'm not perfect myself but i know a good level that shows hard work put into it when i see it and what i see a lot is Junk Levels...so basically the problem I'm having is getting noticed thru all the levels, I'm not looking for a "creator spotlight" nor 1000 plays and hearts, i just want people to play my levels and tell me what they like and don't like, what i can do to improve, etc. (read my visitor message on my profile for more)...

Questions: over time and finding the right people who are kind enough to share answers, I've had a couple questions answered like thinning dark matter makes invisible walls and a level showed me how to teleport thru checkpoints... but there are still some questions left... the one that bothers me the most is the custom background, i see them often, can anybody tell me how to do it for example and most recent would be Hit-Girl20's (forgot the exact level's name) i sent her/him a message hoping for a response but got nothing so i decided to turn to LBP Central, can anyone help me?...

I guess the custom backgrounds that you're talking of are made with the 50+ layer glitch... There should be a tutorial for that in the tutorials section.
Oh, and maybe you should post any questions you have in the Help! section. Just saying.

a custom backround? well, its a glitch. first, go online and find Backscratch's backround glitch. get both items. now go to create mode and select whichever backround u want (like front or back) once u have it, dont place it, but go back and choose the material u want da backround to be made out of. press da shuffle buttons ( R1, R2, L1, L2) to add A WHOLE LOT MORE detail into ur backround. does this answer ur question?2010-11-22 03:53:00

Hi a good way to get plays and advice on ur levels would be to use the F4F feature (feedback for feedback) and create a thread for ur level, u can find it in the level showcase area.. i'm currently doing that and i'm finding it very helpful for me. i look forward to seeing some of ur levels showcased!! 2010-11-22 04:52:00

What he said. =)
The F4F feature is a great way to get feedback and suggestions on how to improve your levels and you creating technique in general.
Hope you use it!

brixx101 - i HATE "H4H" i heard about F4F awhile ago and i use that rarely, i would hope people would rate and comment fairly, i do as often as i can
