Have you tried to attach it with a wobble bolt set on flipper motion? It also depends on what you are trying to hit. If you are using sackboy as the ball, hook up a sensor switch to it and put it as one shot.2010-11-21 15:55:00

yea but it gets deleted. anyways, i've been using a circle and a piston with a megnetic key switch attatched to the pistons so when da ball comes close, the bumber reacts. RESULTS: da ball gets stuck -_-2010-11-21 16:00:00

Probably because it's going too fast. Try decreasing the speed, increasing the strength and increase the angle for the wobble bolt if you ever go back to the bolt idea.
I see where you are going with your second plan. Again, i think the piston is going too fast. Just a few other questions. How exactly does the ball get stuck, and what is the strength, speed of the piston, and is it set to flipper motion. Also, make sure the mag key switch is on One Shot. After you respond, I'll try to help. Cheers!

@Dragonember, Fear's talking about a bumper, your talking about a flipper. There's a big difference. For flippers I use wobble bolts. For bumpers you start with a small circle in the middle. Then you put a ring around it. Leave just enough space to fit a piston in the gap. Now cut the ring into 4 sections, with a tiny square ( so you don't remove too much material). You want the gaps in the pieces of the ring to be as small as possible. You can even add material to make the gaps nonexistent. Now pull the pieces of the ring out a little, so you can get your pistons in straight. Put your pistons in. One for each piece. Set to stiff, outward flipper. Put a mag key switch on the center of the circle. Make sure you get it perfectly in the center. That way you just take the radius out to the edge, so it's just bigger than the bumper. Hook the switch to all 4 pistons. Put your speaker on there, and hook the switch to it also. Set the switch to 1 shot. then you put a thin circle over the top to cover it up. I just glue a little piece of dark matter to the circle, so I can just move it of easily, and I don't have to glue it. Then you have to play around with the settings on the pistons. Make the min settings so the pistons make the ring pieces just touch each other. On the max setting it's important that you don't set them too long, or your ball can get stuck in it. I had to play around a bunch to get the settings right. You have to be patient, and play around with it. Also, you have to use a strong material, or it will break constantly. You have to play with the strength of the piston too. I have 2 pinball levels in my sig. check one of em out to see an example of my bumper. If all else fails send me a friend request, and I'll send you one of my bumpers. 2010-11-21 20:26:00
