Who's your favourite LBP Creator and why?
Archive: 14 posts
Just wanted to see who many people favored as LBP's best creator. Put this format: PSN - On LBPC? - Yes/no Your Favorite of their levels - Why they're your favorite - Please just do one: you might like loads of creators but deep down you have a favourite. I think comphermc, steve_big_guns and DrunkenFist_Lee are the best. But I reckon I'd do DrunkenFist_Lee, so here's what you'd do: PSN - DrunkenFist_Lee On LBPC? - Yes My Favorite of his levels - Next Stop, Big City! Why he's my favorite: His levels are insanely awesome, detailed and well-built, he's amazing at incorporating side-tasks into his levels, he has contributed to the community as well with his 3D Layer Tools and he's very funny, and I think his levels have a high replay factor. I played Next Stop, Big City 7 times to find all the random and amazing side-tasks, and I still haven't found them all! Your turn! | 2010-11-21 14:33:00 Author: mutant_red_peas Posts: 516 |
PSN - Comphy! On LBPC? - He's a mod... Your Favorite of their levels - That's a toughey, I'd have to say All Mine or Roller inc. Why they're your favorite - He just builds these amazingly well constructed levels, with jaw-dropping visuals. A close second would be Mrsupercomputer, the Mullberry Woods remake is probably one of my favorite levels. | 2010-11-21 16:31:00 Author: booXely Posts: 654 |
Every creator is good in different ways but my favourite creator is lock because he the most original creator and in every level he makes you think how do he do that | 2010-11-21 16:53:00 Author: OriginalCreator Posts: 217 |
Lock uses Background Mechanics (hidden mechanics that makes platforms move, he said) He uses them alot but they are an effective and practically invisible to the player He has (or had) a tutorial on 'em, I think... | 2010-11-21 18:59:00 Author: mutant_red_peas Posts: 516 |
Yh I know I have some in my level frantic foliage (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=40116-Frantic-Foliage) | 2010-11-21 19:18:00 Author: OriginalCreator Posts: 217 |
PSN - Crazy-Tito On LBPC? - Yes Your Favorite of their levels - Cyber lab Why they're your favorite - He has amazing details in his levels and really knows how to create good levels with good gameplay | 2010-11-21 19:53:00 Author: ceejayem13 Posts: 181 |
PSN - Afil77 On LBPC? - No My favorite of his levels - McButcher and the Priest Why he's my favorite - A great artistic style, with fun, varied gameplay and packed with the kind of sick, twisted humour I can really appreciate. | 2010-11-22 19:19:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
I like so many creators for so many diff reasons and levels... this guy's kinda niche, so he's more just my favorite than best: PSN - sighwhatever On LBPC? - no Your Favorite of their levels - sackboy's inferno episode two Why they're your favorite - he had such amazing MM quality stuff in 2008, well before almost anybody else got to that level of quality, and he specialized in story-based puzzle levels. did the first custom levers and buttons i'd seen, and started the suicide-moving-checkpoint thing way before Save & Die came out... he never got much plays or fans. I actually got him to come back and make episode three in 2009... now that was fan service. | 2010-11-22 19:51:00 Author: Unknown User |
Just like Ninja, I'm going to also pick someone really niche that I think deserves a lot more attention: PSN - Blorf On LBPC? - Yes Why they're your favorite - His level "Metal Revolution" is one of the most creative and well-contructed levels I've seen. It was done really early in the LBP lifecyclle. This one level ended up getting an MM pick, but because it was unique and required a bit of thinking it got hammered with bad ratings once it got some attention. He was then picked by MM to do a GOTY edition level, where he built "Beaver Cow Insomnia" which was fantastic and hilarious. Most recently, he has a really fun but, once again HIGHLY underplayed, tank game in the LBP2 beta which is incredible once you understand the dual-stick tank operation. | 2010-11-22 21:04:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Metal Revolution by Blorf was a true classic. One of those early levels that tried to push past the idea of just run&jump and did it well without just being a cool technical effect. Another guy like that I remember was pseudonym who made these two really creative concept levels: Fight Tank and You Are the Sun. I hope to see guys like him, sighwhatever, Voltiare etc come back for LBP2 and at least put out a couple creative gems. | 2010-11-22 21:32:00 Author: Unknown User |
PSN - CaptainCowboyHat On LBPC? - Yes Your Favorite of their levels - "OH NO" series. Why they're your favourite - platformer + good length + good/fair gameplay + humor + no over the top visuals = win. | 2010-11-23 05:30:00 Author: midnight_heist Posts: 2513 |
platformer + good length + good/fair gameplay + humor + no over the top visuals = win. That's a pretty darn good summation of why CaptainCowboyHat is awesome. It keeps his visuals consistent from level to level, and throughout the level itself so that no area outdoes another or seems dull and empty by comparison. It also keeps any areas from having performance issues like lag and frame rate drops which is very important for a platformer. He has a very solid build style too, where he rarely uses the MM/jackofcourse slightly asymmetrical, corner bumps but still has a colorful and interesting look... and that gives him the freedom to implement almost any kind of challenge or obstacle. | 2010-11-23 19:54:00 Author: Unknown User |
PSN -Jump_button On LBPC? - Yes...I think Your Favorite of their levels - The Nostalgia of the Infinite Why they're your favorite - Because he is a huge inspiration to me His levels are truly aspiring as they are detailed | 2010-11-23 20:18:00 Author: Sim725 Posts: 247 |
One only? Ohhh that's a tough one there... I so want to pick 5 or 6 but ok i'll pick 1 because I have to and I can't believe no one has picked him here yet: PSN: Steve_Big_Guns On LBPC? Yes. Favourite of thier levels: Serious!? Again only 1 err... Ok. It's a tough one but I pick Sky Factory 2! Why they're your favourite: Mostly because he is unbelievably versatile... and versatility is not easy to come by as most people tend to stick with what they're comfortable with. He's a genious with logic, a master with glitches and artist with details and can even practically direct a semi-movie/cinematic experience with such phenominal graphical detail, that not only does it freeze you PS3 sometimes (!?) and loses framerates quite a bit, it still doesn't look cluttered! It looks realistic and unlike most "cinematic" levels, it's still fun to play (Something Beneath). Epic! I never knew detail like in SF2 was possible. His level of detail is simply unsurpassed, and I've had the privalege of watching him create and to be honest, it seems to come natural to him like he's just slapping decorations around that ened up looking amazing. He's big levels, all differ so much, that you could be fogiven for thinking that neither one is by the same person. He's a talented dude that I look forward to seeing what he can do in LBP2. The way I see it, LBP1 is bottleknecking Steve's talents. Now if only I was allowed to name a few others who I think are up there with him as my favs...grrr. | 2010-12-17 06:00:00 Author: LFiers Posts: 161 |
